Safat Square progress slow

It’s been nearly 4 months since they shut down Safat Square for renovation. They’re supposed to rebuild the whole square from ground up but it seems progress has stalled or is going extremely slow. Since the closure of the square all they’ve managed to do is remove some of the floor bricks and that’s basically it. They should’ve kept the pathways open at least so that people could continue to use it as an underpass.

Mark OT…

Can you post something about the Mada debacle? It’s been down for two days now and there is no word from them except an sms I received the first day. Their phone service is busy. I think it would be useful if subscribers share their experiences here. Maybe we’ll get some response from them. Thanks.

I would post about it if I had a problem but my Mada went down Friday morning, I called customer support and they said it would be up again by 1PM which it was and it hasn’t gone down since.

What is the reason for this, because I see this often in Kuwait. Is it that there is no follow-up on the projects, they got paid and they don’t want to finish the job, or did their labor force not show up, quit or whatever?#$@ Does anyone care, notice, or have brought this to the attention of the responsible parties?

Don’t mean to be so pessimistic but I think that they’re just going to put a cupple of bricks and a fountain in the middle…not so different from the one infront of the municipality building which looks really old style and ugly for a new fountain….u guys this renovation thing to the hole city is one project that’s been studied and approved by the al baladi council…personally I c the the hole project very poorly done

Shut down for political reasons is more correct I guess .. Hence the removal of bricks.

I guess it will take them 5 more months to see some progress done.

Lol… They start something and they mess it up… You can see construction everywhere, but there is no progress… Everything in Kuwait looks like a mess now. Poor maintenance, kickbacks for government contracts, lol… Life is really shitty in Kuwait compared to 2002. Each year, they love to mess everything up… They love to keep morons in charge… Tsk… Tsk…

You should pick up a news paper some time and have a friend translate to u the crazy political stuff the country is going through. They are trying to block protesters and such, not so much rebuild the place, there wasn’t even anything wrong with it in the first place.

I think they should have huge powerful fountains and really big noisy waterfalls, and turn them on when ever anyone has demonstrations there. I hope they take ages completing the place too.
