Architecture of Kuwait have a new article up and it’s about the Shaikh Mubarak Kiosk pictured above. The kiosk which had a lot of important and historical value was turned into a samosa shop back in the 60s with the top floor also rented out to a photographer. Now it’s been renovated and turned into a historical building that looks very similar to the original. Places of historial importance always facinate me..Be it anywhere in the world..Whenever I visit one, i am takn over by this sence of ” I dnt knw what”…but its emotional..How would the ppl in those days would’ve been..they,,talkin abt the future,,that was our past,,nt knowing,,that one day We will be lookin at a 3d version of the modest building they built..SIGH…
I love anything that has to do with history, this definitely looks cool.
Kuwait is culturally rich and there are tons of historic landmarks, but they need the care of the government.

The place at a certain point was a pharmacy!
If you look at one of the pictures you can see written in Arabic “Islamic pharmacy”
The kiosk was in the top floor and the pharmacy was the bottom floor. The pharmacy belonged to my great grandfather Abdulillah Al-Qenai. He was the first pharmacist in Kuwait and opened the first pharmacy/private clinic back in 1920 in that location (Now called Islamic pharmacy).
