I passed by this morning to the Concours d’Elegance to check out the cars but they wouldn’t let me in because they were closed. I managed to sneak in past the lax security but got caught inside and turned away. Turns out today they’ll only be opening at 7PM for VIPs only but I was told there might be a possibility that they’ll let the public in at 9PM. Below are some pictures of the cars that are on display around Marina Crescent and not in the main Concours area which is closed off from the rest of Marna Crescent.
Lightning McQueen and the other two characters from the Disney movie “Cars” are on display at the Marina Crescent fountain. They’ll be on display at Avenues next week but you can see them right now at Marina.
The incredible Porsche 959 is on display near Pizza Express all alone just like that. Most of the passerby’s will most likely think its just a regular Porsche and wonder why it’s being displayed there.
That’s the Ayrton Senna Williams car.
In the parking lot near Ayyame and Starbucks they have old police cars and fire engines on display. There is also a 4×4 display which includes a gigantic over sized H2 which I’ve actually seen being driven on the Gulf Road previously.
Also the picture on the very top of this post is their Muscle Car display. The whole area is closed off so you can only see the cars from a distance.

did they close starbucks parking this year?
Yes
FREAKING AWESOME! wish I was in q8 to see it :'(
Ok, now I’m confused do we (the public) go from 10-10 or what. And since the muscle cars are today only, they will remove them tomorrow or for the rest of the event??
I’m more confused than u honestly
That’s not Senna’s Williams. It’s about 13 years too old. More like Alan Jones’s.
Thats sennas William. His name is even on the car…
It’s also in the senna movie, that’s how I recognized it… It’s branded Saudi airlines which is what caught my attention in the documentary
Not Saudi Airlines, but Kingdom Holding (Mamlaka)
Kingdom Holding is there but Saudi airlines is also on the car on the side. It’s their old logo with the cross between the s and a
I got a VIP pass for the event but I didn’t think it was going to be closed in the morning since the event dates stated 15 to 18th 10am to 10pm.
Mark, today Thursday, where exactly will Lighting McQueen and Tow Mater be? I’m kinda confused b/w Marina and Avenues, and if Marina… where exactly?
Coz sadly, that’s the only 2 cars kids in my family want to see 🙁
Marina Crescent
Thanks man 🙂
I was there yesterday, amazing cars.
the zagato is there too
This is an extraordinary event.
Ayrton Senna did not drive for Williams before 1994. That is not a 1994 car. He drove for Toleman, Lotus, Mclaren and Williams, but not in a Williams Al Bilad car. Look it up.
If his name written on the car doesn’t convince you would a picture of Senna in the car manage to convince you?

How about a toy car of Senna in this Williams?

If a picture of Senna driving the car doesn’t convince u neither a toy model, would a video of him actually getting into the car and racing it around the track convince u? 🙂

And here’s the story with more pictures and details

OI.k. He tested the Williams car in 1983, but wasn’t a Williams driver in that car.
My apologies…
lol its cool, kinda funny how it took so much to convince u 🙂
Got to go yesterday and I have to say I was impressed. Kuwait got something right. There are lots of cool cars to see and it’s completely free. I would encourage anyone to get down there and see it before it’s gone.
I’m surprised the show wasnt Fri-Sat,the “official” weekend for Kuwait!! A lot of people work on Thursday. Was really looking forward to showing my son the “Lightning McQueen” car…Guess not!!
The show is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. So you still have tomorrow.
Mark, when you test drive a car, do you consider it to be yours? A test drive is completely different from either a paid drive or ownership….
wow you’re still at this? Give up dude…
