The Assessment

So I passed by Core Fitness today for my assessment. I figured it would be a Q&A session like How old are you? How tall are you? What is your favorite color? etc.. Turns out the first part of the assessment was getting my stats but then they got me started on the machines so they could see what weights I will be using and that session completely destroyed me. And the scary thing is my trainer said that wasn’t even a proper session and that its going to be a lot tougher when I start on Saturday. Freaky shit.

Note: I am going to get my stats on Saturday from them and post them here along with my nutrition plan.

As a starter for 10, always keep yourself hydrated. Get a carton of water in your car for backup. You will need it. If you cant do 3 sessions, you can always roll back to 2 initially untily ou are okay with the schedule.

All the best!

I was planning on getting all this info and taking pictures once i was done working out but honestly once i was done the only thing in my mind was to get the hell out of there lol

When i go back on saturday I will get the full price list and take pictures.. before my work out begins

I got a glimpse at the prices like time so i can share it with you now but it might not be accurate.

KD90 is for twice a week for 7 weeks
KD135 is for three times a week for 7 weeks

There were other prices but I don’t remember them. Saturday will get the full price list or maybe Fahad the owner can post the price here for everyone

I’m curious, what are the qualifications of the trainer? It is shall I say variable here in Kuwait. For example in Canada at a YMCA the trainers all at least have Bachelor of Science Degrees in Kinesiology.

Just to add on what Ian has said, take their comments with a grain of salt Mark. Most of the people here are not credible… Further, Don’t let the results destroy you. Make sure you eat healthy, you exercise, your blood fat levels are in check, and that’s all you need to worry about. Don’t let them convince you that you have to be with a certain weight, with certain cardio capabilities and so on.

mark your planing to add muscle ? 20 min workout 3 times a week in not nearly enough for bodybuilding.

Degrees don’t mean sh*t in bodybuilding because only you know what your body is feeling, when to push and when to give it a rest.

well you talked about how you gained weight so i assumed your goal was to lose weight not gain, and 20 mins, 3 times a week doesn’t seem enough.

well this sounds like DC Training used by dave henry, well it works and used by advanced builders, your joint are put under alot of stress, if thats what your doing.

i would like to see your training routine and diet, seems iffy.

i used to lift but injured my knee so now i am just waiting to recover, i have read/tried alot about nutrition, supplement, steroids and exercise.

I never spoke about how I gained weight because I never gained weight. Only time I posted about my weight is when I lost weight and that is when I stopped junk food last year. I used to hover around 88-90KG 10 months ago but now I hover between 83-85KG. I am 6ft tall so that’s within my recommended weight.

What I am hoping to achieve from this program is to relocate some of the weight and add more with muscle gain.

I don’t know what kind of training this is, once I start tomorrow will post more details.

Good luck.

Remember consistency is important. No point killing yourself in the first week, you need to see yourself training in a years time.

Better to start easy and build up.

@gargoyle It’s not DoggCrapp Training.

DC takes less than 20 minutes to complete if done right; its solely for people who already carry a sufficient amount of muscle, such as David Henry or Mark Dugdale (who actually combines DC with High Intensity Training).

@Ian Butterworth The trainers are already certified personal trainers. None were recruited from Kuwait. Upon their arrival, we have enrolled them in certifications that have to be renewed yearly in order to refresh and update their current knowledge.

My apologies, but we cannot share that information just yet.

it amuses me to see the advice given here with little or know actual knowledge

it IS possible, 3 x 20 mins a week to gain muscle. it has been proven that size gains can be had lifting only 1 or 2 reps at the absolute maximum your body is capable of. lower weight with more reps can increase muscle too, and in addition can help burn fat.

all of this is for nothing however, if diet is not drastically changed. and that’s not a temporary fix, it is necessary to learn to eat properly for the rest of your life – not just what you eat, but when, and the optimum timing relative to your exercise regime.

there is no ideal weight for height. it depends on many other factors, including build, body type (ectomorph, mesomorph, endomorph), and pay closer attention to body fat percentage, for example.

plus, it’s if you’re happy looking naked that counts at the end of the day.

@Dymatize I could not have said it any better, but someone’s perception of a healthy lifestyle differs from another.
Everyone has a training style that suits their specific goals.
In regards to nutrition, you are absolutely right. Without sufficient calories to gain muscle or lose fat, results are merely an afterthought.
