Last year I posted about a bear that was being sold in Kuwait. After readers started contacting Animal Friends they launched an investigation and with the help of the government helped seize the bear. So where is the bear now and how is he doing? Well it looks like it’s at the Kuwait Zoo and judging by the video above having a great time. I haven’t been to the zoo for ages but the bear enclosure in the video above looks pretty good and large. It looks like I need to pass by the zoo soon and update my pictures. [YouTube]

I wouldn’t bother. I passed by, not that long ago, the black bear enclosure is about the size of a small bedroom… it had broken bottles inside….

Kuwait zoo should be shut down.
It’s possibly one of the worst zoos in the world.
This enclosure for the brown bear is probably the best enclosure in the whole zoo. Don’t be deceived.
The existing bear building is a new construction that was designed and built few years ago. The enclosure provides ample outdoor space for 3 different species of bears, the Syrian brown bear, the brown and the Asian black bear. The only drawback of the design is the absence of a recycling and filtering system for the ponds used by the animals. A propsal has been submitted to incorborate a cooling and misting system in the outdoor facility to reduce the ambient temperature to a well accepted level by the animal.
i am not sure if the zoo in here would be a better choice … but I hope so

He’ll be fine as long as he enjoys a diet of Pringles, Snickers and Pepsi. That’s what he’ll end up eating as the kids, (and a lot of stupid parents,) throw food for him to eat as the “security” guards do sweet f*ck all about it.
He’ll then become sick and eventually die of a completely avoidable disease…
Unfortunately, Animal Friends/K’S PATH cannot control what happens to animals after they are seized by the government. We too are critical of the zoo for all of the reasons stated above, however we are trying to work with them to improve conditions. We have had some successes and home to continue that trend in the coming years.
