The BMW dealer!

So I finally pick up my car today from the dealer and I am on my home and guess what? The car overheats! I had to park the car, wait till the engine cooled and then had to fill it up with at least 2 liters of water! I mean what the hell! I just paid a load of cash to have my car fixed and I get it without water in the radiator?!!? I am sooo pissed I am going back to the dealer tomorrow morning to give them a piece of my mind!!!

if anything, BMW gained nothing but my disrespect, I had the worst experience at a dealership with them. They had me carryihng a tire I ordered myself to their place not to mention the 3 days I had to spend just to pick the right “timing”. First time it was the workers lunch break. Second time it took them an hour to get my tire and after I carried it myself it was lunch break again.

Yelling at them was the only way I managed to get my tires installed, that is after 3 days of a hell of an experience with a dealership that is supposed to be one of the best.

They just can’t realize one thing, i’m a damn customer and I’m paying them. They seroiusly changed my mind of getting a new BMW or a Range Rover from them.

what do u expect ? its a bmw. im surprised someone like u who has had experience in marketing/advertising hasnt researched the nightmare that is BMW. ha-ha! get a lexus next time

Sorry Mike, but you have touched a nerve with me mentioning customer service.

Customer service is so weak in Kuwait. This is why everyone is so pissed off all the time! Not to hijack the thread but similar stuff happened when I took my Mazda in for service at the dealership. They cracked my windshield during a routine oil change and AC maintenance check. When I pointed this out they said it was like that when I brought it in. And get this; I just replaced my windshield at an earlier date at the same dealership so there was definitely nothing wrong with it. Further proof was on my receipt where the mechanic did not indicate any cracks on my windshield when the car was received. After a confrontation and a complaint to their customer service, they finally agreed to fix it for free (after 10 days of driving with a cracked windshield). Another example, yesterday, the Al-Yousifi company was supposed to come over at 3 pm to install a split unit (AC) and they failed to show up. I called them up only to hear them say they have no record of my order. After blowing up on them on the phone I find out that the salesperson was supposed to fax the invoice to their where house to process the order. The fax did not go through the first time and the salesman forgot to refax it. Geez people within the same company still fax each other? It’s 2007, people get with an integrated inventory management system!

I have to agree with Cali87… its even table service at restaurants!!! At avenues mall the other day, thinking lets have lunch – so i went across to XX to have a healthy organic lunch with my partner.

Much to our disappointment everything that was on the menu basically wasn’t available (why open?) – then when i finally found something on the menu, i had ordered a Ice tea as they had No fresh juice (but clearly labeling loads of them on the menu)…. wait for it!

IT came without the syrup but sugar sachets!

Now… Im not sure if its just me but who has Ice tea with sugar granules?? Ok some people may not like it sweet but still. When i asked for syrup, all i got was a plate of honey, then when i said this was not syrup it took five minutes to bring me out a very watered down (hot) sugared water…………. all i say is “pay peanuts (for staff) and get monkeys!!!!”

If i company wishes to employ cheap labour atleast spend the money (huge amounts of) they save on professional training….

Sorry for the blow off!!! (Ive waited three days to get that of my chest).

Just wanted to share with you my 2 cents worth about customer service in Kuwait. By far, the best customer service, is Youssef A. Alghanim (GM cars, Electronics). These guys are really good.

I have a Lumina and not once have I been disastisfied with their quickservice – they are always quick, professional, very friendly and very well priced. They always bother to do the 14 point check even to the point of inflating the tires and doing a free car wash when I request so. Love these guys!

As for their electronics, their Service Center is just excellent. Average waiting time 5 mins, also very friendly. I once brought back a phone that was making a hissing noise. They call me back the next day and tell me to either pick up a new one from the showroom or credit back! Even their Parts Shop…they know every part by heart and are so well price!

I once fixed my Sony camera at the Sony Workshop in Farwaniya…it was a disaster! They took 1 week to get back to me! They made me wait 2 hours until a service person saw me! The Sony agency should be wilth someone like Alghanim, because the current one is really behind.

In case you’re wonder, I DON’T work for Alghanim, I’m just a very satisfied customer for the last 4 years.

Alghanim electornics has improved. A few years ago the stores were full of mostly Lebanese pricks who weren’t bothered if you bought something from them or not. I remmber going there to buy a fridge and because they didnt seem to care, I just went next door to Yousifi and spent my money there!

Big improvement! Probably all the Alghanim guys joined BMW!
