Shout out to Cinescape which shows Indian movies too..!!
My brother/sister, Kuwait theaters have been screening Bollywood, Kollywood and Tollywood films since at least the 70s.
They started screening Mollywood films a bit later.
Irrelevant sidenote: I wish Hollywood would stop glorifying monsters like Winston Churchill and Pablo Escobar.
Yes, and they have a huge fan following too, among locals as well as expats,
I wonder why the other theatres dont show them.
Actually that’s not true, I saw Badrinath Ki Dulhania at Grand Cinema last year in Al-Hamra.
Of course Indian films have a huge fan following here, there are literally hundreds of thousands of Indians in Kuwait.
Locals prefer Bollywood over the other regional film industries. I do too. But I have enjoyed many films from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Bengal has an excellent arthouse film industry that few know about.
