Does anyone know if this movie is going to get released in Kuwait? I just watched the trailer and it looks like the best Arabic horror movie I’ve ever seen.. at least judging by the trailer. [YouTube]
Update: I just watched another version of the trailer and I do NOT think this will get released in Kuwait or ANYWHERE else in the region. I don’t think the director or anyone related to the movie is actually safe in this region.

I know, the first trailer I watched looked like a horror, second trailer was like a different movie. It’s like how can we make our movie controversial? lets include child rape, witchcraft, religion, physical abuse, homosexuality and prostitution.
I don’t know what to be more scared from, the demonic aspect of the first trailer or that woman that speaks to the little girl about obeying her father…seriously I think I am going to have nightmares from that face. Look at the second trailer, 0:39 to see what I mean.

I will not be watching this movie because I have better things to do, and it’s obviously not well-made. Like you said, the trailers have two different messages and that just didn’t appeal to me.
It looks like he tried just one black/white/sephia filter and really loved it, and taking all the issues in the world and putting them in one movie isn’t new since it’s what all the dramatic series do during Ramadan, the only difference is the faux-sex scenes and shots of bum and cleavage (which you can find in music videos nowadays anyway).

I’d like to watch this movie. I am not expecting anything spectacular given how it will try to be very serious with little to no budget, but I would like to see how it comes out and how the director manages to wrap all those themes together.

Horrible acting and directing and screen play there was a few hot chicks but very few maybe even 1 , like I would appreciate bold movements on the Arabic cinema world but they need to be handled by talented individuals not just the daring.
The 2nd trailer was cool up until the stupid moral message at the end. This is going to be just one long, stupid khaleeji tamtheelia (soap) but with a slightly bigger budget.

indeed the acting is not that good, the trailer is ok ok … the editing needs a hell of work … back ground sound music dose not match at all with the scene(s) … but … there is a but 🙂 …

i think the director or the producer had this dream from long time, and was working on it … and here 2011 their dreams will come true ..

well at least he’s budgeting his own film. no one is helping him pay for it thats what he said in an interview. about the different things the movie talks about i think its going to be like a scene of different groups each time and then it all leads to a conclusion
I actually like the plot behind the movie, its very strong, specially how the western culture has changed our culture in the wrong ways.
I am not an anti-westerner. I believe we should all learn about different cultures and adapt the GOOD things they do. We may drink or abuse our freedom there, that does not make it right. I do believe that we should all learn something from this movie and it is to learn how to see positive side of things and not the negative.
Even though I found the second trailer to be much more attractive to the plot of the movie, but it had an eerie and sickening feeling to what the movie was about and from the looks of it, I hope, it will help us think twice about things we do.
Why does this movie have three trailers, and why do they all really, really suck? All he did was put together a bunch of controversial topics for shock value, and called it a movie. The moral behind the “story” is just preachy and ignorant…You’re right, it’s TOTALLY an absence of religion that is responsible for all of this stuff. Because we all know there are no religious hypocrites, right?

What does scenes of immodesty like cleavages and sick kissing along with a sick and disgusting horror scenes got to do with contributing to negative topics like the ones the movie presents?
Call me old fashioned, but that’s not art, that’s unhelpful gossip that don’t contribute to anything. Pure and simple. I hate directors and story writers like the one here in Kuwait who make TV shows or film like this one that only talk about contervisal topics without providing meaningful answer or solutionion for whatever issue that it represent. That’s pure gossip, not art. Art sopose to make us feel good, not bothered and negative. Nothing BOLD or MATURE in talking about sensitives topics and represent them in that fashion like this movie, especially if it does not help. They want to contribute to these topics? Go do campaign or meaningful lectures where everyone can talk about it and be aware about it and try to help each other instead of gossiping about it in media formats like local TV series or like this movie.
I pray this type of movie will never be made again. I’m seriously disturbed and sad by this.

For example, if you want to talk about the satanic group, we dont have any in the middle east, and if we have, it might be little percent, or just media propaganda, for example, you guys remember kuwait had rock shows, and little teenage kids are all dressed in black. So people thought they were satanism.
Now about hypocrites, Muslims, yeah we got them here.

So overall, i prefer if they spoke in arabic, than english. Lastly, this was pretty daring, because if i saw an Arab or Kuwait mentality, they don’t do this.
I think on how i can read their minds the actors, its basically, saying “Fuck it, its my life i do what i want”. In the end, of the trailer it shows an important message shown, saying when the women was talking, ” you made us into terrorist and hypocrites”.

now, don’t get me wrong, if you don’t like them, then make a movie, showing their hypocrisy, but not to this extent.
Some people might agree with me or not, if you want to make this movie, the country itself must be liberal , and if the country is conservative, then you should make a movie that suits them, and point it out in a different direction.
but the question, in a horror movie, it does have a scenes of mystery, rape, magic, and death.
so when making a movie which horror, how can you act it out, if its conservative?
All i am going to say is, Kuwait and the Gulf states, have always, did their “THINGS” under the cover, or hidden in the closet, how its been acted, and done in a movie. So, if nothing happens to them, good luck to them.
Finally, Getting things, from the west is good, but not everything from the west is perfect, I highly recommend that The Middle Eastern should not lose their identity and hate their own culture, from religious fanatics. We should not lose our culture, and follow them 100 percent.
Japan lost its culture, and America does not even have a culture. If you want to talk to me about history, I will. but everyone is smart enough to know about it.
Whether this movie turns out good or totally sucks, the message in the second trailer is important.
Child abuse needs A LOT of attention in the gulf area and you’d be shocked at how many kids get abused here. When they actually DO tell their parents nothing is done, just like the trailer.
It’s sickening and we need some strong campaigns to promote awareness.
