My Favorite Music Albums of 2013

Early on in the month I posted my favorite tracks of the year and after a bit of a struggle I’ve managed to choose my top 10 albums of the year which I’ve listed below. I use the word struggle because there were quite a few good albums this year but in the end, the albums below were the ones that meant the most to me. I’ve also taken the liberty to arrange them in order of my favorite the Jon Hopkins – Immunity album being my most favorite. It’s just a ridiculously good album and one that I spent a lot of time listening to. Check out my top 10 albums below, I’ve even gone ahead and pulled out a track from each album so you could listen to it.

1- Jon Hopkins – Immunity

2- White Lies – Big TV

3- Moderat – II

4- Darkside – Psychic

5- Baths – Obsidian

6- The National – Trouble Will Find Me

7- Pacific Air – Stop Talking

8- Arcade Fire – Reflektor

9- Junip – Junip

tosca

10- Tosca – Odeon

Wow, quite an esoteric taste in music. Sadly I haven’t heard of any of those, but I’ll have to. Do you have a last.fm page?

Omar Souleyman’s album is fkin gold. Love him!!

and Mark, follow aaa’s advice. You would dig Pitchfork’s style.

No Bonobo? I think you’d like you him. His 2013 album is called The North Borders.

Perhaps Mount Kimbie too but they can be a bit too subtle sometimes. For more bass heavy electronic music, check out DJ Rashad.

I am pleasantly surprised to see ‘BigTv’ by ‘White Lies’up there, i have recommended them to a lot of people in Kuwait & all were oblivious of their existence, i have been following the Band since their Debut Album ‘To Loose My Life’ and have been in love with their Music ever since.

I was really anticipating their 3rd album & they did not disappoint.

My top 5 from the Album.

1 – BigTv
2 – Getting Even
3 – There Goes Our Love Again
4 – Be Your Man
5 – Change

I would also suggest you give ‘AM’ by ‘Arctic Monkeys’ a try.

Yeah Big TV came first close to being my favorite album of the year. I’ve heard AM but generally not a big fan of Arctic Monkeys except for a few songs.
