DJ Tiesto Riot in Bahrain

Yesterday Tiesto was supposed to be playing in Bahrain but it seems the organizers were liars and Tiesto never ended up showing up. When people started booing the organizers (B&D Entertainment), security started throwing people out and that resulted in a riot. Abadi, a blogger in Bahrain has a full right up writeup of what happened and like the thousands of people who paid to watch Tiesto, he is really pissed. [Link]

daaammmnn that must really really suck, tiesto should be performing in petra tonigh, i wonder if he will actually be there, or its just another hoax.

Well this actually sux, Tiësto not showing up, but surely it’s something from the organizers side and still no word from Tiësto’s management. Here in Lebanon it wasn’t as we expected it to be, at least not as good as the one in 2005 but yeah at least Tiësto showed up. I hope he’s gonna show up in Petra, I have many friends who left Lebanon yesterday to go see him there.

So far, it seems the scoop is that he refused to play till the organizers pay him in full. I once attended a concert for Raghib Alama back in Canada. He refused to come up on stage till he was paid in full.

no he just plays 90s style trance and commercial house tunes that true house and trance heads have stopped listening too but the majority house and trance wanna bees still think he is cool!

I don’t know whats the big deal with Tiesto !! i that thing happend in Dubai months ago ! they sold like 10.000 ticktes for a venue that holds up 3.000 !!

they didnt refund our money….so we kissed 500 drh ( 2 tickts ) goodbye !

BAHRAIN CANCELLATION

Dear fans, I am very sorry for what happened at the Marina Club in Bahrain last Wednesday. Allow me to explain to you what really took place.

The promoter disappeared after 1 a.m. with the DJ fee and the money everybody had paid for their tickets.

I still wanted to play at the party, so I was waiting for somebody to pick me up from the hotel and bring me to the venue. At 2 a.m., still nobody had arrived and we heard that police was already on the way to the venue. At that moment, I had no other choice than to stay in my hotel room.

The promoter tried to escape Bahrain, but luckily he got caught near the Saudi Arabian border. He is in jail at this moment.

Again, I am very sorry for what happened and I will definitely try to find a way to make it up with all my fans who bought tickets for the show.

Tiësto

I was actually at the concert. It was one of the most unorganized concerts I’ve ever been to. I got the VVIP tickets (100 B.D per ticket), and couldn’t find any decent seats and was not able to get anything to drink. The promoter did leave at 1 pm allegedly to pick up Tiesto. We never heard from him again, although the MC (Hanan) was saying that Tiesto was backstage finishing up with reporters, and then went on and told the crowd to “shut up… M***** F******”. At around 2, things started going crazy, that was after the MC told us that Tiesto will not show up. I left right after I saw a chair being thrown at the stage. It is said that the promoter is in jail right now and hopefully I will be able to get my 300 B.D. back, although I doubt it. In short, a scam gone wrong, and I doubt that Tiesto had anything to do with it. The promoters made at least 25,000 to 30,000 Bahraini Dinars.

i always knew there was something fishy,as the promoter did not host any other previous events before this.i had gone for Armin party hosted by peppermint ,it rocked

he should never came to bahrain. i think only lebanon and dubai can pull off this kind of an event. i believe he was there in the van behind the stage but didnt play because he wasnt payed what he was supposed to get payed. its all the organizers fault. learn from PVD events at biel in lebanon now thats what i call a show.

i agree with all the comments about tiesto playing commercial tunes .. but there is one thing u cant neglect .. his “in search for sunrise” series .. just give it a listen.. and u will see a different style of him.
or just listen to my fav’s “sasha and john digweed’s” phenomenal sets
