Knet new payment page

Yesterday Knet announced they’re updating the Knet page. According to Knet “the change is to reflect global advancements in digital payments and to enable the future use of alternative payment methods for various objectives, most notably enhancing the services of KNET’s electronic payment gateway”.

But what did they change? They removed the bank drop down menu…

Previously you could speed up the process of entering your card number by selecting the bank you use which then autofills the first set of numbers. Now you’re going to have to enter the full card number.

Not sure how that is a more advanced system since it just means we now have to spend more time typing in numbers than we did previously. I really hope they now at least allow us to copy paste numbers into the form because the knet page is the only payment page that doesn’t allow me to autofill or copy paste my card number.

I hate that they don’t allow auto fill. I save all my cards and passwords in a password manager but there’s no point if pages don’t allow pasting. However, I’m able to bypass that with a browser extension, but I shouldn’t need to in the first place. How does security improve when you don’t allow pasting? There are many ways to bypass this anyway and you’re only making the user experience worse for customers.

1. Does this mean that international visitors can now use their non Kuwaiti bank debit cards to pay since they are not restricted to choose a Kuwait only banks ? if yes then i think it is better than the old one

2. iphones and android even on laptops, Autofill we be compatible and easier to use with the new layout

3. it is faster than choosing and looking for your bank and then the prefix, if you can remember the last 10 digits you can easily remember the first 6 digits
