I used to find Lexus and Infiniti pretty boring but not anymore. My experience with the G37s was short and slightly confusing. I was expecting it to be an aggressive loud sports car but it wasn’t. I was expecting it to be ridiculously fast but it also wasn’t. The thing is the car has 330hp which is nearly as much as the previous generation BMW M3 and that was a brutal car. But the G37 is completely different, its a quiet fast car. Its the kind of car in which you’ll accidentally hit 160km/h on the Gulf Road while thinking you’re doing 40. Its fast but you just don’t feel it.
The interior of the car is very cozy and its probably my favorite thing about the car. I found the seats Lazy Boy comfortable but thats because my Z4 has hard tight sport seats while my Wrangler, well its a Wrangler. I also really liked the the black leather interior but I would have done without the wooden trimming. But again thats because I keep thinking it’s a sports car and not a very comfortable luxury coupe that can go fast. The car also has all the goodies like iPod inputs, navigation system, reverse camera, key less entry and a start button. The car I drove had a bright red exterior but if I was to get it I would probably go with a silver or dark grey color.
The G37s costs around KD14,000 while the non “s” version goes for around KD13,000. The G37s costs around KD13,750 fully loaded. I think the price is very reasonable and the car really doesn’t have any competition in that price range. The Audi TT costs nearly the same but the new TT is pretty dull and its also much smaller while the new Audi A5 coupe costs like KD18,000. The BMW 3 series is also more expensive, the Mercedes CLK is getting a redesign soon and Lexus don’t even have a model that competes with this. Thats why I think the G37 is going to do really well. Its a great Japanese car and you can’t go wrong with it.

شكلها خطير ، وانا معجب بانفينيتي عموما ، تصاميمهم مبهره واسعارهم معقوله
They should at least give the “S” a sporty interior. Silver instead of the wood, and some sporty two colour steering wheel.
Infinity is just a Nissan on plastic surgery
Infinity is just a Nissan on plastic surgery
your wrong 🙂
infiniti is much better in every thing , from the shap to the price LOL
the engin and gear box is totaly diffrent
is anice ride with a nice price
You havent mentioned anything about the exhaust note.!! i believe all infinitis were DESIGNED AROUND ACOUSTICS, since the last g35 exhaust was designed by Renault F1 Team.!
Looks kewl though.. i guess its in its own class.. and almost classless 🙂
There is ONLY ONE version in Kuwait and it is the ‘S’ version, which is sold around 14,250-14,000. The salesman gives you a 500 “discount” which he probably gives to everyone, so the price gets down to around 13,500. With full insurance you get the price back to around 14,250. If you know someone in Babtain, you can get an additional discount.
The ‘S’ version has the sports package, different front fascia, different calipers, brembo brakes, spoiler, 19 inch rims, paddle shifters, aluminum pedals, and some other sporty touches. You can check for details on http://www.infiniti.com.
The car is loud, but you wont hear anything from the inside because it is a luxury car, unless you floor the gas. It has a distinct sound from the outside which when you hear you instantly know that it is a G37.
The G37 engine is the most powerful in the Infiniti line and can beat a Z350 and a BMW 335i. The new Z370 will have the same engine.
The version that is imported to Kuwait is unique as it is an Automatic S and the S version only comes in Manual transmission and aluminum interior instead of the wood trimming in the US.
The G37 is supposed to be a full option car, but there are still a few things that are unfortunately missing and should be present in a full option luxury coupe, but can be overlooked for example the side mirrors are not electronic. Also, the US version has a 9GB hard disk + iPod connection, and here you only get an AUX connection.
Pros:
-Very good looking Interior that beats a lot of other luxury cars like the BMW.
-Comfortable seats and spacing
-Large screen
-Powerful engine
-Amazing steering and stability
-Beats the competition in every aspect
-Great bose sound system
Cons:
-No power side mirrors (folding)
-Comes only in black interior and has limited exterior colours
-Heavy compared to other coupes
-Small glove box
I have been driving the G37 since January and got 17,500KM on it.
Oh yeah and one more thing, the mobile phone doesn’t instantly sync with the phonebook, so you either have to send numbers one by one by BT, or enter them manually. I do not know though if there is a software update or if one would be made available in the future. The other person’s voice is very clear and loud, though most people say that my voice is distant so u have to speak loudly.
If you got any questions i’d be glad to answer them.
A&B i don’t know where you got your info from but you have some mistakes..
First the 335 is a faster car than a G37
https://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupes/112_0708_infiniti_g37_bmw_335/specs.html
Secondly the 5 speed automatic is available in the US, its not something region specific.
Finally the car is not loud, even when the windows are open and you slam the gas. Sure you can hear some sound but that isn’t loud. You want to hear loud step into a Z4 with the sound generator padding removed 😉
Sa3Dawii: I didn’t hear anything special with the exhaust. Sounds pretty normal to me.
hey i know this ain’t relative to what you have but I have a serious question here.. WHO IS GOING TO DJ TIESTO IN LEBANON ON THE 31st wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
https://www.radiooneglobal.com/
already bought both ticket plane and concert
i’ll take my camera alond and if i wasn’t high or anything i’ll take some photos or maybe video for you guys 😀
First rule of speed racing is, stats and numbers aren’t everything. I’ve been driving the G37 for almost six months now, and pretty much tried the car out with it’s class’ competitors, so I know who I can beat. Bet I can smoke your Z4.
I did not say there is no Automatic in the US, but I’m not sure if the G37 automatic with the sport package comes with an S letter behind. I apologize for the misinformation.
And as I mentioned a few times in my comment, the car is a luxury car, it’s supposed to be a quiet car. If you compare Z350 to G37, the Z350 is louder outside and inside, but it’s not more powerful.
Finally, you didn’t hear anything special from the exhaust because you are inside the car. You need to hear the car passing you by from the outside.
What is up with the analog watch?
lol you seriously think the G37 is faster than a BMW 335 even though the BMW 335 is faster in every aspect?
Now you could probably smoke my Z4 on a straight but both the G37 and Z4 go 0-100 in 5.4 seconds. Since the Z4 is smaller and lighter on the track it would out perform the G37. But even if that all wasn’t true, the main thing is that the Z4 is more enjoyable to drive anyway and actually sounds and feels like a sports car while with the G37 that isn’t true.
Man i drove the G37 and i have to say i enjoyed it not much like the M3 BMW but it’s enjoyable, I didn’t drive the Z4 though but you can’t say “not true”
btw again DJ Tiesto in Lebanon on the 31st you have to blog about it and see who’s going there
Even a Civic Type R or Golf GTI can out do both our cars. Though I still know the G37 can beat the Z4. I know i got only my words on it, but I did beat a 2.0 Z4 starting on 70KM. I admit though from zero you’d get a better start because of the G’s weight.
the 2.5 Z4 is slower but a 3.0 should be fairly similar.
Btw stock Type R’s and GTI’s are slower than both our cars. Even the Golf R32 0-100 is 6.2 seconds compared to the 5.4 of a G37.
Moe: Not say “not true” about what?
Mark ====> ” while with the G37 that isn’t true.” I disagree
You are free to disagree if you want but that statement is based on my personal opinion.
I guess.. and what is your opinion on BMW M3?
which one the new one?
No.. i had the BMW M3 2002 Base Coupe
the air dynamic 8.9 Sec from 1-100 Km fucking awesome feeling.. BMW and Mercedes are by far the best cars I drove..
my partner at work has one, made my old beemer look like a minivan
I’ll be buying a Mercedes S320 or BMW 330 soon once i figure out a way to get a license in this country..
PS:new in Kuwait and My visa was “mistakenly written as salesman” yeah right well 2 month to end my civil ID damn can’t wait
My brother has one, it’s a really nice car 🙂
THE DARK FUCKING KNIGHT!!!

cheers
Nice price, but i prefer the A5, are you sure about the A5 price?
any thing about the honda S2000 ? or the faster one ( S2000 CR ) ?
from 0-to-60-mph in 6.4s
(( honda fan here =P ))
Oh yeah and it’s a 2.2-Liter VTEC Engine (( 4 cylinder )) come’s with a
6-speed manual only ! (( 237 Horsepower ))
and it’s 9,000 KD !!
a friend of mine got it for KD8000 brand new from the dealer
Infiniti’s are first designed for comfort and then for performance. Wood interior in a “sports” car is just silly; however they are good at what they do — namely, make you forget that under the hod is not some old granny V8 but a sports engine; which is why you’ll forget you are doing 170+
If you want to go with ‘bang for your KD’, then the S2000 (assuming you can deal with its dimensions) will guarantee a smile on your face as soon as the tach (with a 9.8K redline) goes north of about .. 6.5, and that will happen often. I have driven a S2000, and believe me — nothing matches to it as far as “put a grin on your face” feeling.
True to its sports nature, its available in manual shift, two seats and a very snug interior. Don’t try to talk on your phone using a bluetooth headset with the top up (nevermind with the top down); you’ll just end up yelling. This car is meant for driving not cruising down gulf at 10.5 KM/hr in the middle lane — wtf is up with these people.
The sound system on the one I drove (which had the stock stereo and speakers) was not impressive; which isn’t that bad considering the excellent music coming from the car’s dual exhaust pipes. The newer S2000 fixes this problem by embedding small tweeters in the headrest of the seats.
I have also driven (extensively) the following:
Porsche Carerra
S4 Turbo (the old one that came with a proper S engine)
Manual Maxima SE (the US spec 222 HP, with a few mods)
Jaguar S-Type V8
350Z Twin Turbo
Toyota Supra Turbo
BMW M5 (manual gear — 2006 year model)
BMW M3 SMG
Of all these above, the S2000 is the only one that put a giant smile on my face 😀 The BMWs are amazing cars, and the M5 is my all time favorite sports sedan, however the SMG M3 …. for some reason it felt very sedated compared to the S2000.
Verdict: S2000 FTW.
Hey guys,
My question is quite simple: G37S or Nissan 350Z? Bearing in mind that if I get the Z it’s gonna be mannual.
I have been hesitating for more than 2 weeks and I can’t make up my mind!
Appreciate your opinion, thanx
Oh and I forgot a few facts:
Major drawback of getting the Z: the 350Z will become 370Z in 2010 and will have the same engine currently installed on the G37S.
I was told by the salesman that the G37S is equipped with a 9 GB music box; A&B says it isn’t; can you confirm?
I am more into sports cars and I know for a fact that you can’t get the same from a manual gearbox and an automatic one (even the extremely performant F1 gear installed on the G37S).
I test drove the G37S and it didn’t really feel like a sports car despite all the power. Just sitting in the Z gives you a different feeling.
Everybody’s saying I’m crazy to even consider buying the Z considering the following: price difference is 1300 KD only (it’s not an issue for me) – this is the 350Z’s last year….
I AM LOST and CONFUSED and I have to decide!
