Review: Chicken Fingers

Chicken Fingers Meal

Its been a while since I last posted a review of a microwave meal and since Nats in Lebanon I figured this would be a good time to start again. Tonight for dinner I had the Chicken Fingers meal by Banquet and I really liked it.

I was at Sultan Center checking out the frozen foods section when I spotted this meal. What grabbed my attention was the fact it came with a fudge brownie! I thought that was fucking cool since I never tried a microwave meal that came with cake before. I grabbed two packs plus two packs of the Fried Chicken Meal and headed towards the cashier.

Cooking the Chicken Fingers was very easy, pop it into the microwave for two and a half minutes and its done. While cooking my kitchen started smelling of brownies.. which is a good thing of course since I love the smell of freshly baked brownies. When it was done cooking I took it out of the microwave and grabbed a coke and headed to the living room.

Chicken Fingers Meal

It fucking rocked. Keep in mind I am comparing it to other microwave meals and not some fancy gourmet dinner. The chicken fingers tasted pretty good and the fries wasn’t bad either but the biggest surprise was the brownie, it was eatable! I was having doubts about trying it once I was done cooking it because it just looked.. weird. But, I took the first bite and then had another after another. Its not the best brownie in the world but it tasted pretty good for something that came with a microwave meal.

Now the biggest problem I have with this meal is the portion, its tiny. Three chicken fingers and a spoonful of fries isn’t very filling. But I guess thats why its cheap, the meal costs only 850 fils which is a bargain compared to some other microwave meals. So, for the final score I will have to give it a 3.5 out of 5. If the portion was just a bit bigger it could have easily gotten four stars. Be sure to check out my other reviews in the review section.

I think its unfair to give it 3.5 stars becoz of the portion. since it wasn’t directed at grown ups. its very obvious that this meal was to be eaten by children, I though the brownie gave it away.. but I guess not. so the portion is more than enough for a child.

why would you go for chicken fingers? there are yummier-looking tv dinners you know

ugh i hate passing by the fridges at sultan.. i cant walk away from them without stocking up on the goodies.. those boxes just look so delicious 🙁

bye bye waist, hello saggy boobs :((

I guess mark you should learn to cook. It doesn’t take too long .Perhaps an hour or two is sufficient for 3-4 days food. If u need to know how to cook ,i can guide you along.

How can you call placing the food in the microwave and pushing a button “Cocking”?, We missed the Good Old Days when moms used to cook for 3 hours straight 🙁

extinct-dodo what do you recommend? I have tried a couple of other ones but I found the Banquet brand to be my favorite so far.

Calrsberg, thats why I hesitated to try it lol

Moe: I was too lazy to pick up turkey and toast from Sultan so you can imagine how lazy I am to cook. I wouldnt even spread nutella on toast cuz i am too lazy.

cece: anytime

loo7a i think i should have used heating up instead of cooking

Since we are on the topic of microwaveable edibles – would like to recommend the POP-WEAVER microwaveable popcorn (esp. the Garlic & Herb flavour). Nothing goes so well with a cool TV series than this cholestrol-free snack. And the portion is quite satisfying.

there’s a bit of the Sultan Centre where they have pre-cooked roasted chickens, and wholesome veggies? lookin at the pic added another nanometer of atherosclerotic plaque to my artery. I swear I felt it.
