I’ve been really looking forward to watching this movie since I first found out about it back in December and now that I’ve watched it I have mixed feelings about it. The movie is directed by Ridley Scott who also directed the original Alien movie among other blockbuster hits and although I read that Prometheus isn’t a prequel to the Alien franchise, it’s hard to believe it’s not after watching it.
Plot: A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. –IMDB
The movie has a lot of intese parts and the plot is incredibly good but I did find it a bit slow paced as well. A lot of people in the theater were getting restless and even I was starting to doze off which is why I have mixed thoughts about it. The movie right now is stuck between being a quick action packed movie like The Avengers or an epic 3+ hour adventure similar to Lord of the Rings. It should have either been shorter and faster or longer and deeper. Ridley Scott spent a lot of time showing the viewers some really interesting things but then when the movie finally picked up pace, it ended very quickly. I could easily see a sequel come out of this or maybe even a prequel.
As I said at the start, I have mixed feelings about Prometheus. I didn’t leave the theater thinking the movie was great but it’s been 3 hours since I finished watching it and I’m still thinking about it so it’s good in that sense. Worth watching, just don’t expect it to be action packed.
I watched the movie in Lebanon so it was uncut. The movie contains one scene where a couple make out and have sex. It didn’t contain any nudity just kissing but it would most likely be cut in Kuwait and that scene plays a crucial role in the movie. Other than that scene there are a few scenes where the female characters are wearing basically a two piece swimsuit, no idea if that would get cut in Kuwait but they’re also important scenes in the movie.

Mark, I asked about why the didn’t release the movie in Kuwait and the employee at Ave. cinema said the ministry had banned it. I was so upset. They were planning on releasing it 2 weeks ago and even listed it on their website as coming soon. Very disappointing.
It’s about the origins of mankind and probably doesn’t involve God, so are you REALLY surprised?
Every single scifi movie out there would in some way or another interfere with religion, what makes this movie so different ?
Why do ppl even bother with cinema’s here? Why pay 3KD to watch a heavily censored version with awfully flickery subtitles and deal with the stupidly rude and LOUD people at the theatre? The screens are also small, dim and dirty even the IMAX one and usually no where near as bright nor clear as anything i’ve seen in the UK or US.

Last movie I watched in Kuwait was I think The Simpsons.. and that was cut!
I downloaded it a week ago in 720p. I still haven’t seen it, so, I reserve my judgment.

Hi mark, Prometheus is set in the ‘Alien’ universe, hence the sequel are the alien movies. 😉
In ‘Alien 1’, they land on the planet to find the wreckage, NOW infested with the ‘Alien’ creatures.
They spent 200 Million to make the movie… they only got 50 million from the cinema tickets…#Fail

The movie was good, not amazing, just good. I really liked the fact that Ridley Scott finally explained what the heck that thing is in the ship from “Alien” and how Aliens originated.
I thought it was a great movie,it did answer a lot of questions about Alien,but at the same time it brought up more questions and left them unanswered or left up to the imagination of the viewer
i know Madagascar 3 is like the totally opposite genre , but its amazing! You laugh like every minute!!

I wish there was a 2D option here. So not worth 3D. No movie is worth watching in 3D actually.

Still not as good as the creepiest space horror movie of all time..Event Horizon. No cheesy alien monsters there just a trip to Hell and back.

I fell asleep. Totally hated the ending. I wish there was more action in it. Charlize Theron’s character let me down. I don’t know why, but I pictured it to have battle scenes or something more interesting than burning the dude with a flame thrower…
Really looking forward to watch this movie
It was good, answered some questions from aliens, but opened up even bigger questions. I see a sequal coming up! Especially with the way it ended.
