MOODs Hotel – Prague

Over the weekend I had a spontaneous trip to Prague and had like 30 minutes to book an airline ticket and hotel and I have to say I lucked out with my hotel. I ended up staying at MOODs Hotel which is a pretty trendy boutique hotel located around 15 minutes walking distance from the old Prague town and markets.

I had booked a superior room for 3 nights but on arrival I found out I had been upgraded to a deluxe room. Most likely it’s because I had booked less than 24 hours before arrival and so my first night stay was costing more than the other two nights combined. When I first got to the hotel I was really impressed with the way the lobby looked. They had some interesting textured walls, modern furniture and a trippy light show going on with their logo. The hotel receptionist were also young and sitting behind shiny iMacs so the hotel felt very stylish right from the get go.

My room was pretty spacious with lots of closet space, dark hardwood floors, a very cool looking bathroom as well as an LED mood light system running behind my bed which I could control the color and intensity of. I also had access to free fast wifi, a pretty good breakfast buffet and best of all they hooked me up with a great driver to take me to and from the ski slopes.

If you’re planning a trip to Prague then I’d recommend this place. If I ever go back I would stay there again without a doubt. They even have duplex suite for not that much more per night. Here is a link to their [Website]

They have something called the “Apple Upgrade”. Maybe they noticed your iPhone/iPad/MacBook and that’s why you were upgraded.

depends when you book. my first night cost me 250 euros while my second and third night cost me 80 euros each. At 80 euros a night I think the room is a steal. 250 not so much. But keep in mind I booked the room 24 hours before arrival which is why my first night was inflated.

Mark, start using Booking.com (they also have an app). You will get much better rates at the same hotels. The fact that you booked less than 24hrs before, would mean you get great last minute deals on Booking.com. In fact, I usually wait till I arrive to the city before booking a room (usually 30minutes before I arrive at the hotel). I’ve gotten some insane deals at the best hotels this way. You can test this out for yourself without booking.

well i was looking for a cool place to stay and not any place to stay which is why i ended up with MOODs. But will check out booking.com next time i want to book and see if i get a better deal through them

I guarantee you check any hotel on booking.com and their own website and the rate will not differ more than $10-20 USD. Booking.com also does not allow you to refund and takes all the cash upfront.

Do NOT use booking.com

Although booking.com is not the subject of this post, but i can’t but comment here.
I constantly get BIG discounts on booking.com. Some hotels even told me that the price they offer in booking.com is less than their walk in price.
And you are not required to make a payment for booking a hotel using this site. The hotel could (optionally) block the amount on your credit card and that’s all. Only the offer deals are not refundable.

Most hotels give sites like booking.com the worst rooms on the sides of the hotels. The hotel as a whole gives you a much better experience if you book directly through them.

Try agoda.com i used it couple of times but had issues with credit cards hence i shifted on bookings.com
i usually email the hotels and sometimes they give me bargains besides the mentioned price.
BTW, i envy your life.

I lived in Prague and I assure you, it’s quite safe!
However, I can’t remember if I saw this hotel. It looks nice.
I’ve stayed in Hotel Jalta which is really good and also located in old town.
Enjoy your trip to a beautiful city!
