Gulf Bank Flash Mob

Someone should have an intervention with Gulf Bank before they release a Harlem Shake video next. Flash mobs are so 2009. [YouTube]

Mark! No offenses the show looks totally scripted. I have not seen any happy faces around … forget the expats, not even citizens. Only real part is when your video ends and actual sound takes over. Very SAD state of affairs! πŸ™

It’s just a bit of fun πŸ™‚ it put a smile on everyone’s face for a change, look at all those happy people.

It’s not even a flash mob really just a performance in the middle of Avenues, thought it was cute

They probably chose the name flash mob to get more clicks πŸ˜€

Although it is “so 2009”, it brought cheers to the shoppers. I presume this is the most they can do in such a conservative country, where music and dancing is not welcomed in most birthday parties & weddings & no live music was permitted for the new year event. Enjoy what is available

Music and dancing is welcome at weddings and birthdays. At Kuwaiti weddings, there’s always dancing, music and a DJ is hired

Music and dancing has always been an important part of Kuwaiti culture, before the discovery of oil 40% of Kuwaitis were professional musicians. Most Gulf Arab musicians are Kuwaitis. I’m not sure where you got the information that live music wasn’t permitted at new year eve, the Punjabi rapper Bohemia did a new years concert in Kuwait. Since 1992, the Islamist MPs have been trying to change Kuwaiti culture, but they’ve failed. Do you believe everything those Islamist MPs say? Lol

It seems that you have a limited understanding of Kuwait and its culture.

There is no ban on concerts in Kuwait.

Do you people believe everything Kuwaiti MPs say? Lol

Punjabi rapper Bohemia recently did a music concert in Kuwait for new years eve

As I previously mentioned, Islamist MPs of previous parliaments attempted to change Kuwaiti culture. In 2004, Islamist MPs introduced some restriction on concerts. Islamist MPs are now out of the parliament. Islamism is a political trend that has swept all of the Arab world and Middle East.

Music and dancing has always been an important part of Kuwaiti culture. Kuwaitis were the first music recording artists in the Gulf. Kuwaitis are the pioneers of Gulf music. Before the discovery of oil, 40% of Kuwaitis were professional musicians. Even today, most popular Gulf musicians are from Kuwait.

There is no ban on concerts in Kuwait.

Gulf News is misinterpreting the words of the Kuwaiti MP.

Gulf News is often misleading and sensationalist. Kuwaiti MP Nabeel Al-Fadhel did not say there’s a concert ban.

Yeah and dont forget, Punjabi rapper Bohemia recently did a music concert in Kuwait for New Year’s eve.

Glad that a fight didn’t break out XD

But I like it, better than nothing. And as long as it made people smile what’s not to like?

5 places in Kuwait I’d realy love to see people shake a leg, under the pretext of a Flashmob in 2015 (in no particular order):

1) Souk Samak
2) Immigrations at KWT International
3) Souk Mubarakiya
4) Friday fleamarket
5) Mubarak Al Kabeer hospital
and what the heck, make that 6
6) Ministry of Awkaq isn’t such a bad idea. After all, they are people just like us, too.

Chillax! people, I mean you no disrespect. You got to learn to chill and have a good time every now and again.
Life is too short: there’s so much to do and so little time to do it in.

Did anyone actually watch it….everyone just whips out their phones and records, maybe afterwards they actually paid attention to what they saw. Only people who live in the Avenues get to see these shows.

Yes, guys (including Mark). Why the hate? – 2009 or what not, this is not America or UAE but a conservative place – just with a lot of money and nothing else. I’m not a fan of the country in its current state at all but this video brought a smile to my face as it did to others present there. Some happiness in the country rated as the worst place to be – we need to count our blessings (or rare cheers in this case) when we get them! Kudos to Gulf bank and this crew!

Hey! at least there is something going on!

More stuff like this should be done in our beautiful country

Long live Kuwait and people in it <3

Share love not hate xD <3

Because none of the companies want to pay money to make something different and unforgettable. Everyone wants everything cheap. I can name at least 7 same “flash mobs” in this 2 years. Did you see hala feb this year? you won’t believe what they were offered to do, what shows to bring. People would scream and shout, talk about it everywhere. But everybody wants to spend 10 KD and have a megablast hahaha

Seriously? that was a waste of time.. (P.S. I’m on a vacation)

Gulf bank I have a better tip for you guys, get your board members together – cut down the budget on advertisements and distribute profit to shareholders.
