Funny- I saw two old guys puffing away at tables in The Sultan Center Al Kout yesterday, right under the ‘no smoking please’ sign as they chatted to a filipina worker….. So I won’t hold my breath to see this law enforced .
I hope this law never gets enforced. Smoking indoors is best thing about Kuwait.
Yeah, screw those people that don’t want to inhale carcinogens. Particularly those 1.5-year-olds in strollers. They don’t even know what cigarettes are.

of course its staged.. as you can see the officer is explaining the guy at 00:01 and the same guys walks in smoking at 00:14 and gets a fine or warning!
Its not a shopping mall its a smoking mall on weekends.
i really want authorities to take action against smokers who smoke in public and feel proud of it. few days before i saw a guy who was smoking outside carrefour where they have NO SMOKING signs. i told him to refrain from smoking and he replied Sank you sank you.. 😛
I doubt it will have any staying power. They go crazy and enforce one specific law for a few weeks, and then….nothing. Seatbelts, speeding, distracted driving, all seriously enforced for a few weeks, and then, no one cares.
Sadly I think Kuwait needs more cops and better cops and no wasta.
I was at the Grand Avenues yesterday, I was smoking a cigarette and a security stopped me and said “would you like to pay a 50KD fine?” and i jokingly replied ill pay a hundred if i need to. They security was just about to escort me and thats when i realized shit, he is serious. So just like a little good bitch i turned it off and apologized, walked away waited until I was not in his sight, and sparked another one.

I was sitting in a restaurant in the Avenues yesterday and I asked for an ashtray. Im usually allowed to smoke in the outside seating area but they told me the avenues have banned smoking even in restaurants. A few minutes after, 3 police officers pass by with that big book of theirs in hand. So I guess they are really enforcing it.
About time. So stupid that you couldn’t smoke walking but you could sit down a metre away and smoke, gave the wrong impression.
When I was working at the airport , I had a Kuwaiti guy who was smoking in the FOOD court were all kids and ladies are dining. I humbly requested him to put it out and he was questioning my authority. Sorry state. The people have to improve to make kuwait a better place to live.
