What’s the first restaurant you’re going to after the lockdown?

Once the lockdown is over and restaurants can reopen again for dine-in, where are you going first? I think for me it’s gotta be Peacock.

It’s too early to confirm that the complete lockdown did nothing. The infection could take up to 2 weeks to show up. Today’s numbers could be pre-‘full lockdown’ ones.

compare Kuwait figures with Qatar and UAE and you can see the full lockdown has prevented the health system from being overwhelmed. Also it was very thoughtful of the authorities in Kuwait to implement the lockdown in phases. Yes there may have been a few lapses but nobody’s prefect, except God. So in the GCC, and the whole Arab world Kuwait seems to have done the best job of limiting the spread of Covid

I’m going to Mais Alghanim, Sabaidee, and Buffalo for wings. Too bad there aren’t any Vietnamese or Sri Lankan restaurants here πŸ™

I think all the restaurants should start posting their re-open checklist to make customers feel better so they can visit them again.

I just wanna order some food in piece again :/ and i most likely go to madison and heig for breakfast.

Hey Ganduism (appropriate name for a troll)

Italian restaurant, Jordan, yeah I see the correlation. As someone whose mother is Kuwaiti, I am allowed to be here, thank you.

Jordan is a great country that has responded very well to the pandemic and I can say the exact same thing about Kuwait and New Zealand, Taiwan and other countries.

Let me redirect it to you – you’re lucky to be here during the pandemic and not India or Pakistan or wherever you’re from.

Let me redirect it to both of you. No one is lucky to be here. We’re handling this badly, and the full lockdown is a fiasco and the curve is not flattening. We’re luckier than Wuhan, NYC, and Lombardy that’s for sure. But we’re not much different from the rest of the world, which is handling the problem without turning their countries into a police state.

Nowhere, I’ll stick to home delivery for a while. Not worth the risk, even if it’s so low, especially in poorly ventilated places, and before anyone jumps and says it’s not an airborne disease, it’s not, but droplets can spread quickly in poorly ventilated areas as some studies have shown, and yes there are articles that say A/C doesn’t spread the disease.

I think you have to go out before the virus is spreading back, the back to to home delivery πŸ™‚

Ordering in. I just hope they open the parks soon. I think it’s gonna be a long time before restaurants are open.

Don’t say that…..please. I rely on restaurants to eat. I have been having a very hard time since this lockdown

I feel ya. I DO hope delivery starts up again. I just think it’s going to be a very slow roll as the government goes back to work, then the rest sector.

I’m hopeful, though.

When this lockdown is over, I plan to make a beeline to Grub in the Sharq area for some kickass Mac & Cheese and and an order of wings. My mouth is watering already….

Do you smoke in home or plan to smoke outside? I wonder if they will even allow shisha at all in cafes.

I`ll definitely stick to “MyKitchen” and “Home Delivery” ones, at least until the reported cases will drop in the low double digit nos.
Nothing and no one will convince me that the restaurants will be able to sanitize between customers and/or create a safe area around the tables without the possibility of airborne particles/droplets to be shifted through the confined space of the establishment by the HVAC.

Highly doubt (and hope not!) that restaurants will be physically open… probably just delivery.

I’ll order from any restaurant I don’t care lol just anything besides the same meals on repeat im having

English Tea Room (although I never really went there pre-corona). Guess what shows I’ve been watching?

Kei

Maybe I’ll finally try Oak and Smoke

Vigonovo, pick, Good Stuff, MEAT, dodgy shawarma that gives you instant diarrhea (we all know it’s the best).

i watched this documentary on all you can eat buffets the other day, and that’s all i’ve been able to think about since ! 😩😩😩😩gonna wait a few more months, but still.

I’m going to have a trifecta of places!

Appetizers – Flip Burger
Main Course – Oak and Smoke
Dessert – Haagen Das

everywhere… i will dine out everynight for like a week.

Ora, Doppio, Arabica, Roto, Babel, Mana, Pattaya Beach, Baker and Spice…

Remember it will take restaurants at least a week before they all will be fully operational again. Remember the whole of Kuwait has to open. Not just one. And no food being served out of any establishment for more than 2+ months. Just take this all in consideration.

Y’all didn’t learn how to make all of your favorite dishes at home?? What a waste of time this has been πŸ™‚

There is no compelling reason for restaurants to open . If there are restrictions on capacity there is no reason to open . Rents are too high . If you took a place that has 25 tables and rent of 5000 the decision was based on that … not 10 or 12 tables . And if rent is the same then you will be working for the landlord and he has right to ask for rent . Better to stay closed . Only kitchen will work so back to home delivery 🚚

Za3tar w Zeit! I took the repatriation flights just for that and then the restaurants stopped delivering.

I barely ordered from restaurants before the crisis, so I’ll gladly stick to my home-cooked food regardless.

Wak n roll, lol i assume you meant wok n roll. How can you call that sushi is beyond me. 😑

last time I checked they didn’t have these anymore? I remember, like 5+ years back we’d go and have those, they used to be like 2.950 per person.. But I asked about it like last year and the lady responded that they don’t do those anymore. I’d love to get some info on that!

They do have them only at certain branches. Like the one in Kuwait City opposite Muthana Complex.

i want to go to katsuya and have 5 orders of their spicy tuna on crispy rice (no sharing)

Other than that, i have been learning to cook/bake everything at home.
