Bus Overturns on Fahaheel Expressway

bus

I took the photo above a couple of hours ago while heading back to the city from the Hilton Resort. A public transportation bus had run off the side of the highway flipping over in the process. Not sure how many people were hurt but I counted at least three ambulances on the scene.

I saw this coming , today a bus driving at +120km/hr drove right past me. I really hope no one got hurt.

Very sad but bound to happen…
not automatically assuming it’s the fault of the driver in this case, but the probability is high because of the madness we see from these drivers on the roads! I feel very bad for the passengers who have no other choice but to use public transport!

I know we all have stories of Kuwaitis driving badly, but it has been my experience that they are at least predictable in what they’re going to do. This is not the case with drivers from the Asian Subcontinent. They tend to do things without any rhyme or reason and are evidently oblivious to their immediate surroundings. I realize your observations may be different, but the above is mine.

in the Asian subcontinent, road rules are different and thre are WAY fewer accidents on average in Indian cities and suchlike even though there are sometimes 5 lanes of traffic stuck on a regular sized road. granted when there is an accident its just as ugly as it is here.

but in general what looks to you like chaos (which you expressed in a quite racist manner) is something that works there and obviously doesnt work here.

I just fail t understand why all the evils in the country are placed on the Asian expatriate.
Whether its the traffic or the bad driving, the crimes or the shortage of electricity & water, the fingers always seem to point in just one direction.

I would not put the blame on the drivers fully, since the driver’s remuneration are fixed on he collection they make and with the numerous buses plying on the road , it is a race to make a decent salary.
This is not surprising since the poor drivers have to cover places at the earliest to make his salary, safety is not the priority. If they were remunerated on a good salary and not forced to get passengers to get the salary , we would have a much peacefully driving bus drivers.
