ah is that what this is! 🙂

I got sent it by WhatsApp last night but didn’t have a clue what it was lol

Dude.. I’m not a citizen but I’m definitely anythn more than just an expat who came to make money 🙁 Kuwait has divided people in only 2 categories- Citizens & Expats. But there is 1 more category of people like us who were born & brought up in Kuwait, hardly been out of Kuwait for any longer period of time like not even one month, people like us who didn’t even leave Kuwait during the Desert Storm war in 1990, all that we have is in Kuwait, people like us who don’t have anythin *outside* Kuwait cuz whatever we earn we’re somehow givin it back to Kuwait’s economy in the form of house rent or daily expenses or even savings in bank accounts of Kuwait itself & not outside cuz Kuwait is our only home. The only home we’ve ever know cuz our parents who came to Kuwait when there was no airport also, are buried in the cemeteries of Kuwait ☹ & for some unfortunate reason I decide to attend a best friend’s wedding abroad, apply a leave of only 2 weeks… & then I’m stuck here alone for almost 2 months now 😥 I miss my family who is in Kuwait, we r all adults who stay separately so I’m more worried about my house rent as I have no idea what that haaris will do in my absence as he’s totally an unholy man.. I need to return to my home please… Send some option for people like us 😥💔

My 18 year old son is at a satellite US university in Qatar. He can leave Qatar as flights can go out if Qatar but Kuwait won’t let him in. He’s alone in his dorm room at this time (though safe thankfully) but we desperately would like to seem him join us in Kuwait. Any one have any semblance of a clue as to when expat residents will be allowed back?

I’m so sorry dear. I’m in the same situation. My flight was canceled and I’m stuck in Dubai. I’m so desperate to go back. I understand Kuwait would bring Kuwaitis back but I’m so afraid we haven’t heard anything about the destiny of expats who got stranded outside of Kuwait. My company even forced me to go on unpaid leave so imagine me in Dubai without any income for god knows how long. @Marc how can we get our voice heard? What can we do or who can we contact? Your help is much appreciated.

According to newspapers and the circulating PDF of the evacuation plan, the government wants to evacuate 90% of the Kuwaitis abroad before Ramadan, so within 10 days. That’s 40K+ Kuwaitis that will be coming home with not enough quarantine places to hold them. So you may be wondering how are they going to solve this problem? According to the newspapers, they are going to keep everyone for (Three days) in quarantine and then send them home for self-isolation … Oh yeah and full curfew because of that.

Exactly all true… but are you sure about those first three days? I heard that they’ll be sent straight away home

And then local news papers wonder why they’re loosing readers. They only print rumors and when its not rumor they never state whose that “official”. Basically they’re as good as fake accounts on twitter.

Ok so this will be quite long but hope it helps. Last I heard was, starting Thursday 1 AM Kuwait be returning approx 40.5 K Kuwaitis from abroad with a time period of 8 days using Kuwait Airways, Jazeera, & Qatar Airways( trips from the US), this means approx 53 planes will be returning per day. They will be tested at the airport a couple of times, if they test positive they’ll be sent to Jaber Hospital or maybe hotels for people with mild symptoms, if they test negative they’ll be sent back to Home Quarantine, with daily checks by the MOH, and an application on their phone which tracks their movement. People coming back from GCC countries have already been checked twice so they will be sent home, people coming from high risk countries like London, NY will be sent to mandatory quarantine (hotels etc) Also, pretty sure they’ll apply a lockdown either 24 hours or just lockdown each city( ex jabriya tenants only move within jabriya) for a month to try to manage the 40.5K from spreading the virus even more.

Can everyone here please stop spreading rumors? I don’t want to close commenting on posts because people are using it to spread misinformation.

Just so I’m being transparent, if I get an IP address request from the local cyber crime unit I’m passing it to them. They’re being very strict about people spreading rumors.

I am actually worried what’s going to happen to the economy of kuwait. Companies are facing unprecedented losses. Government is doing everything possible to ease the stress on both kuwaiti’s and non kuwaiti’s. But then, there are some organizations that are trying to make more out of the situations. Private financing companies aren’t postponing the installments as mentioned by KBA, landlords are still demanding full rents. It’s fine for people getting their full salaries, but it’s making it difficult for those who are facing financial difficulties.
If the lockdown continues, it will make business even more difficult and that means incomes will reduce drastically or might stop. This will create a void in the economic cycle. Since FmCG is currently on high demand, since they are essentials. But when people don’t have buying power, how would they sustain.

A domino affect is in bound
