Adobe Creative Cloud Now Available in Kuwait

Last year Adobe stopped selling their software the traditional way and instead moved everything to their Creative Cloud where for a monthly fee you could rent their apps. Some people hated it others like me loved it because it meant instead of paying a large sum up front for their apps you could now pay a much smaller fee every month. So back in February of this year I tried to sign up to the Creative Cloud but because I was based in Kuwait, the only option I had was to go through one of the regional dealers and turns out because I was in Kuwait I couldn’t pay monthly and instead I was quoted KD175 a year. Obviously that pissed me off but there is good news.

Last week Adobe updated their Creative Cloud apps and also started offering the service in more countries including Kuwait. I signed up to their Creative Cloud a couple of days ago where for KD14 a month I have access to all their apps including their desktop and mobile ones. If you’re a student or teacher its just KD5.6 a month.

For designers who are interested, ME (Arabic support) versions of the apps are available. Once you install the Adobe Creative Cloud app on your computer go to the preferences and choose English with Arabic support as the app language and then download and install the apps. If you’re into photography, Adobe have a special price on Photoshop and Lightroom, they’re giving both along with the Lightroom mobile app for just KD2.8 a month. So there really is no longer a need to pirate their apps. You’re also allowed to install the apps on two of your computers so I have them installed on my desktop and laptop which is perfect for me.

had the same problem as you.

Then i Got mine installed in hawalli last year, on my mac air, windows desktop, and travel laptop for 5KD the entire collection. and have had no problem so far.

unfortunately alot of people will still pirate it. i don’t like the fact that i have to “rent” software. if they made it like CS6 i would buy the entire package cash 🙂 like i did before.

but then again i must say, 14KD a month aint that bad, i give out more than that for dinner at TGI fridays.

Well they still have CS6 for people who really want to pay a one time fee but I kinda like this pay as you go option. I pay more for my phone bill anyway and I use my design software a lot more. I also make money because of my design software but don’t make any money for talking on the phone lol

Ha! I’ll leave this here:

This happened a month or two ago. Search google for more goodies.

There are some application domains that make hosting them as centralized online services common sense. See social media, video sharing, email, ..etc

Then there are application domains that benefit nothing from being online short of generating reliable passive income for the developers and insuring that the customer has no meaningful control over the present availability of the software or its continued availability in the feature.

Guess which category Adobe cloud belongs to.

Photoshop (or any other service) might get shut down, get replaced, or become ridiculously priced if it makes business sense to its developer, and you wont be able to do anything about it. It happens all the time.

Anyone considering signing up, please don’t be naive. Read about the type of software you’re investing your time and effort into, and understand the inherent risks involved.

Even if the creative cloud goes offline it doesn’t affect you since you don’t need to be connected to the internet to use the software. If you’re paying month by month then you just need to connect online once a month and that’s all.

It’s nice to see you blogging about the new Adobe Creative Cloud. Replying for GreasyGear’s comment: The Software doesn’t affect as Mark said because it’s only connected with Cloud services which is you can connect your Desktop computer, Mobile and iPad in the same time.

How is Creative Cloud work?
1- Download Adobe Apps (Photoshop & etc..)
2- Sync your Assets and Settings through Creative Cloud
3- Collaborate with your colleagues and Friends (Sharing your work through Creative Cloud)
4- Connect with Adobe Behance Community and get exposure on your work
5- After creating your personal portfolio on Behance you gonna get the access for Prosite.com to create your personal website without any code or web developers

If you face any bugs problems with Creative Cloud please share it with me.

Thanks,
