Ministry of Interior Phishing Scam

*VIDEO REMOVED*

According to a TorrentFreak user, it seems theres currently a phishing scam which tries to fool local internet users into thinking the MOI has blocked their IPs for illegally downloading torrents. The scam tries to get users to pay to remove the pop up warning which will take up the full computer screen and block the user from performing any task on the computer. The scam takes over the computer through a malware so if your computer is virus free or if you use a Mac you’re most likely safe. You can watch the video above showing the scam or click on the following link for more information [Link]

I personally experience this at work when one of the user called our attention, at first I knew that it was a spyware already so I download the malware byte using another domain profile or the local administrator acccount then installed the program, I scanned it and found trojan.agent I clean it and viola user can able to work to normal using her profile account.

Oh I forgot take note that the corporate anti virus we are using was not able to detect the spyware so malware byte is a success.

just to add a note to this, the pc was running the latest version of Bitdefender Total Security 2013 and i have a paid version of malwarebytes it got through it still !

“Unable to play this video at this time. The number of allowed playbacks has been exceeded. Please try again later.Dismis…..” never came across this one :p

Its known as the Whitescreen virus !!!

*Boot Your Pc in safemode with “Networking” Options.

Run these any of these Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and HitmanPro…you’re good to go.
