Share your iPhone’s internet onto your iPad

If you have an iPhone and an iPad you will probably understand how annoying it is that you can’t share your phones internet connection over wifi to you iPad. Well now it’s super easy.

Visit www.jailbreakme.com from your iPhone browser and follow the instructions to jailbreak your phone and install Cydia. Shoul take around 2 minutes.

When done launch Cydia and search for the app called MyWi. It costs $20 but you can try it out for free for 10 days. Using MyWi you will be able to share your phone’s internet connection over wifi which you could connect the iPad to. Very easy.

Advantage is you can install MyWi, disadvantage is when you upgrade your phone to 4.1 for example it will most likely unjailbreak your phone.

I tried this jailbreak on ipod touch 3G and cydia is not working properly !
Are you having any issues when opening cydia ? Like taking alot of time to reload and downloading packages.

don’t jailbreak any device, know tons of people who did it then just went to factory settings at the end. it’s not too stable. get everything from the appstore and update your iphone using itunes with worrying about it getting locked or whatever.

SWOS: That information is not accurate. Jailbreaking your phone doesn’t make your phone unstable neither does it effect the performance. The only way your phones stability and performance would be effected is by installing applications that might be running the background constantly or ones that effect the systems GUI.

MyWi doesn’t effect anything.

Also another note, you can’t get your phone locked by jailbreaking and then performing system upgrade. You’re talking iPhone 1st generation which had to be unlocked and then when system gets updated it gets locked etc.. most of us today have officially unlocked iphones which will not and can not get locked by apple with a system upgrade or restore. Again your information is not accurate.

I picked up the iPad 3G model and microsim from Zain. Works great! I did not feel the need to jail break, as most fourms spoke of how unstable the apps were. (I have been jail breaking iPhones for the past 3 years, and have experienced a number of crashes.

HOWEVER and besides all this, I did followed your instructions of registering the device as a US one, using my Shop&Ship address (Thanks for that). I have directed a number of my friends to your site for instructions. As for prepaid iTunes cards, they are out of stock locally and I usually get these cards from the US (Thru my Kuwait Airways friends šŸ˜› ). Max limit of displayed apps on the iPad is 220, which I have passed a long time ago…now waiting for the iOS 4 update, so as to be able to make folders for the apps.

Keith: This trick is for people who don’t have 3G ipads an want to be able to share their internet

I would also not install any app other than MyWi. I purchase all my apps from the Apple App Store.

mark i have a question about the iPhone 4 i wanna buy it but it comes after 3 weeks like can i do some thing about that pay extra money or some thing ?

sorry for of the topic question šŸ™‚

Jailbreak and Unlock are two different things.

Unlock will simply allow you to use your iphone with any sim.

Jailbreaking enables you to install 3rd party applications that are not aproved by Apple (e.g. MyWi. There are a lot of apps out there when you jailbreak that should have been included in apple’s plan (e.g. status bar notifiers, internet tethering, SMS privacy.. etc.. etc…

Jailbreaking is safe, but if you have a locked iphone do not upgrade you iphone firmware. Usually locked iphones required to be jailbroken to add the unlock

MyWi is the reason i installed Cydia on iPad 3G, now i’m on my trip, i could use iPad to connect my Laptop to internet anywhere.

i think ako barnamaj ib balash that makes ur iphone a portable router nafs il mifi bas forget its name and for free
