Withdrawing Money from PayPal

Last year I posted about how PayPal started allowing users in Kuwait to withdraw money. Not sure what happened but that stopped working or at least it wasn’t working for everyone. Now it looks like they might be allowing withdrawals again.

A reader sent me a screenshot of how he was able to transfer money to his NBK Visa card. I just tried it myself and even though I was able to add my debit card to the account, when I tried to transfer money to it I got an error.

If you have cash in your PayPal account and want to withdraw it, try doing it now and let us know in the comments if it worked for you.

Thanks NM

Update: I tried to withdraw some money from PayPal yesterday and it finally worked! Link

Thanks a lot Mark, that should be a day that goes down in history.
In my case, For credit cards, it bounces back that my bank doesn’t allow instant transfers. For debit, I was able to connect it “which wasn’t working before” but also an error occurs towards the end of the transaction saying “Things don’t appear to be working right now”. anybody trying any form of transfers even if it’s bank wire and succeeding?

Mark, I have been trying for the past 3 months to withdraw to my NBK debit card. The instant & standard both show an error at the end. Firstly, i contacted PAYPAL multiple times regarding this, they assured me that everything was fine from their side. It seems that NBK itself is rejecting the deposits. I contacted NBK multiple times and most of the time they couldn’t even understand what was going on. Sometimes, they understood but couldn’t provide a solution, just a lame excuse.

Tried withdrawing the money back to my ABK Visa Platinum card. Paypal rejected it. Reached out to their PR department and they stated that my card has a lot of international transactions(I used to travel for my uni classes to Dubai every weekend last year and I used my card to get around there) and they would want me to write an email confirming that the card is my own. I wrote them a HUUUGE email a couple of months ago and nothing has happened. Tbh, this just seems like a lame excuse.

I had tried couple of months ago to withdraw to different cards (Kuwait and Canada) with no luck. I kept getting the same error message for long time, and when I contacted PayPal they sent me nonsense responses and didn’t tell me the reason of the error. I finally quit and used my balance for purchasing…

Can the same reader you were talking about Mark come into the light and tell us did he do it? is the something missing that we need to do?!

hey, its me!

so basically “transfer funds” button right under my balance.

the card is a prepaid visa from NBK that I use for online shopping and is fully linked to my paypal for quick checkout.

Paypal then lets you know it takes a percentage, you agree, then continue.

and voila! I just did my 2nd transfer, 1st one was when I told Mark it worked. I even checked my NBK and it did indeed reach my account a day later.

Thanks a lot, both for the reply gentlemen…

Sounds too good to be true, I am actually submitting a request for Prepaid Visa today if that’s the case…
I checked their website and there are about 5 different ones but I assume all work, anyways I will double-check with NBK for further assurance.

Thanks for letting us know! Do you mind sharing which NBK prepaid card you have? They have a bunch to choose from.

“prepaid visa classic” is what its called on my NBK account

Its the basic prepaid visa I got for online shopping

anytime!! good luck! I feel a bit guilty letting mark announce it only to see many people fail at it haha

I really hope everyone figures it out! I know I have been trying for years as well

I use paypal only for buying online because they offer consumer protection. In case i get scammed, I can always rely on paypal to safely refund me the full amount. If i paid by paypal from my credit card, they refunded the amount back directly to the credit card instead of paypal balance. I did get scammed 2 or 3 times throughout the years and Paypal always refunded me those amounts after I emailed them.

As far as withdrawing is concerned, I mostly use Skrill, It always deposits directly to the bank account. No need the hassle of going through debit or credit card. I did try withdrawing by paypal once but it never went through.

So Mark, If your customers want to pay you online, Just ask them to pay by skrill. It is much faster and less hassle when compared to paypal.(I am not trying to promote skrill by the way)

So technically you’re sending them a skrill link to pay you online and then just withdraw it to your bank account?

I don’t have customers to pay me. Just family and friends. But yes, You can send it directly to your bank account. They do charge 6$ fees per transaction. So unless it is a good amount like 50$ or above, don’t bother lol

Hello

Does Skrill actually work with Kuwaiti banks for withdrawal specifically? I kept hearing Kuwaiti banks are banning e-banks like Skrill and Nettelet. So they might allow you to find your Skrill account with your debit/credit card but they won’t allow you to receive from them.

Can you please tell us what Kuwaiti bank u r using? Thanks.

I have a Boubyan account and I was able to add my debit card and tranfer the funds! It takes some percentage like someone said but it worked! Took 2-3 days to show in my bank account.

I have found the proper process to make the Withdraw.
1) Get a Prepaid or Credit Card (Debit Cards Not Working)
2) Add it from the Withdraw Page in Paypal
3) Verify the Card with Paypal (4-Digit Code)
4) Use Standard Withdraw (Instant Not Working at the Moment)
5) Amount should be Deposited in 2-3 Days (Use ARN “Transaction Number” if it Does Not)
Optional: If you want the Amount in your Debit Card, Use the Cash Advance feature to transfer in your linked Debit Card (Bank Fee might be Charged)

My Master World Miles Credit Card is registered and verified with PayPal, I still can’t get to withdraw my cash with it. So I think my last resort is what NM referring to as in prepaid visa card, which I signed up for yesterday.

For me it is working with Burgan Bank, you have only to select the CREDIT CARD section while withdrawing the amount and not the DEBIT CARD section.

Working smoothly since one month already.

I did it too to NBK VISA prepaid last year. Paypal rejected my CBK MC PP card but allowed me to used the NBK card.

Hi, is the withdraw still working ? dose it work with all banks ? (Gulf bank ) ??
hope i get a reply 🙂

Is the solution still working to this day and has it been smooth? I just ordered an NBK prepaid card, although it’s a MasterCard, not Visa, do you guys know if it’ll work?

Someone help me I need to withdraw 1k but I got Burgan Bank Debit Card.
Linked the card and verified it but could not withdraw.
Would I need a credit card?

Yes it is possible.
1. You need a pre-paid card (NOT debit card)
2. list it on your paypal acc and activate it following the paypal process (pay $1.97, wait for the confirmation code, enter code)
3. First day I had a limit of $500 but later it was okay and I was able to withdraw the full sum.

It used to work to my pre-paid card instantly as I used to do last year and stated above, but now I just tried it and the funds left PayPal but didn’t appear on NBK prepaid card.

Spoke to Paypal support, and they were like it takes 7-14 working days, it didn’t use to be the case?

Sorry Mark, but I was just sharing my personal experience from a month ago. Not sure why the accusations.

After paying it our from PayPal, the founds were in my acc in 2 days.

The one from NBK and it is Prepaid Visa Platinum. I think somebody left a link to it a while back on this thread.
I am grateful that they did since this post helped me to finally pay out the founds 🙂

You were shared incorrect/false information by stating you need a prepaid card when in reality it also works with debit cards.

Mark,

I wanted to be helpful. Is it possible that somebody had a different experience then yours?

Please stop bothering me. I don’t have time to go back and forth. As I said, I shared my recent personal xp and that’s it. I am happy that you managed to finish he process with a debit card but I wasn’t that lucky.

With regards,
Nerma

P.s. Please, let’s end this thread here. Thank you and bye.

It’s not helpful when you state incorrect facts like it doesn’t work with debit cards when in reality it does. Stating your experience is fine just don’t share incorrect facts that could confuse people.

Dude!!! How can you be so annoying?

I tried with 2 debit cards. One from NBK one from Gulf Bank. I couldn’t do it. Bank couldn’t provide me with an answer as to why I can’t receive the founds from PayPal, and the PayPal support told me that everything is ok on their end and that I should contact the bank.

Then I found this post and read that people used a prepaid card and so did I. Success!

Creating a prepaid card was free and you lose nothing by requesting a different card. So if someone is struggling with their debit card, there is another option – a prepaid card.

Nerma – Thanks a lot, it worked, today they deposited the amount to my Pre-paid NBK card too. Apparently, it got delayed for the Eid break. cause I used to do it last year and it used to be instant.

Hi,

Thank you.
