If you are going to copy paste articles from blogs and put them on your website at least have the courtesy to link the original blog properly. Gulfnews had no problem copying and pasting my Faloda post onto their website but when it came to copying and pasting my blogs website address they misspelled it and it ended up as 248.am.com!
Its cool they are into blogs and actually publishing them on their website BUT I would do things differently. For one thing I would make the url’s for the blogs at the very least clickable. That way their readers could just click on the links and be taken to our sites helping us get more traffic.
The second thing is I wouldn’t copy and paste blog posts word for word and publish them like that on the site. Instead I would actually get one of the writers to summarize the articles (like we bloggers do) and then provide links to the original posts in case their readers want to read more. That way they would be supporting bloggers again by sending traffic their way.
The way Gulfnews has things set up now they aren’t sending any traffic to the blogs and instead are just using blogs to add more content to their own website. Thats basically stealing since they are taking articles without permission and then not giving anything back in return.
As I said its cool that they are into blogs but I would take things a step further and actually try to support bloggers by sending traffic to them.
Make sure you check their blogs section at gu.lf.news.com

they should send at least an apologize letter for what have they done! WTF #$#@$
lol no it doesn’t need to get that dramatic
I see credits have been given – albeit incorrectly in your case.
If they don’t have the time to summarize, they should at least make the links clickable to the source.
Yeah you are right. I love your blog!!!!
yeah cajie that way blogs can benefit from the traffic gulfnews gets.
lol @ gulf.news.com. What they did is very bad. An official news website should at least have the courtesy of supporting writers’ rights! They are a form of press, are they not.
It’s not the first time they take one of your posts to be put in their blogs section. And in the previous time your blog’s link was spelled correctly, moreover, the link was clickable!
All the links of the blogs they used to provide were clickable, I don’t know why this time they decided not to have them clickable.
Send them an e-mail. Oh, I don’t think you will need to do so, lol. I assume they already read this post or will read it sometime later.
I never knew about gulfnews before you mentioned them here. I bet you have more traffic than they do.
I’m guilty of the copy-paste myself, but I do always link back to the original. I agree that something written in my own words, like a summary, is preferable, but sometimes time is short, and laziness sets in I guess.
It is mentioned below the picture on the right 248.am.com…
But ya they should highlight it at least..
your url is clickable on the side “Blog about faloda”
So I guess your blog is all about Faloda
lol thats funny
Blog about Faloda ???
Good thing they didnt quote your hijab post 😛
Blog about whats in her hijab ?
I think they are decent enough to put the links even though they made a mistake. Its better then copying completely and making no reference to the work done.
the logo looks similar to the facebook one!
