Monster Gulf

Monster Gulf

How long has this been up for? I just found out that Monster.com the largest job search website has a gulf edition located at MonsterGulf.com. This can’t be good for Bayt.com.

update: I just checked the domains whois info and the domain was purchased on June 1st, 2006 meaning the site is very new, most probably less then a month old.

update2: They launched on August 4th

so…. I wonder whether there will be 2 buttons, when selecting a job.

1 – are you a national?
you get taken to a page that says “when can you start?”

2 – are you an expatriate?
you get to post your cv, specify your required salary and leave, have that halved, then get the job if no-one who clicked “1” applies for it

😉

i knew about this site b4 it opened as I use monster in the UK. It’s a really good site and I think better than bayt 🙂

Only thing is, I keep getting job offers in India hahah

Monster may be older as a global organsiation but bayt.com is new, cutting edge, state-of-the-art and without a doubt at the vanguard of the industry technologically. I havent seen any equal to their user-friendly platform and the advanced tools and applications anywhere on any other jobs site. It is definitely the easiest to use and most user friendly jobs site out there, and the fact that their platform is fully bilingual and they have 10 regional offices shows that they are firmly committed to the region and there to stay. Have u seen their testimonials from jobseekers and employers? Bayt.com obviously works!!!!

actually i think Bayt is not user friendly at all. for example:

How do you find out what jobs are available in Kuwait?

MonsterGulf
1) you go to monstergulf.com
2) you clcik on Kuwait
Thats it

Bayt
1) you go to bayt.com
2) you click on jobs in kuwait
3) you click on kuwait again in the side bar
then you get the list

plus its not obvious u need to click kuwait on the sidebar to get the list, it took me a couple of tries to figure that out.
thats not a user-friendly platform.

plus with monstergulf once u get the list u have an option to sort by relevance, freshness and popularity. With Bayt you dont have any options.

Plus i just checked your IP and it seems you are a Bayt.com employee!

Mark,

That is not true. I have always used bayt and on the left hand side you get a kuwait flag that once you click on it you get all jobs in Kuwait.

By the way the firts flag you talked about is just to set your preferences for hot hjobs.

I still believe that Bayt.com is by far much better. At lease I have got by last two jobs fthrough Bayt.com. I had my Cv with Monster.com since 1998 and got Nil contacts.

Thanks

What do you mean its not true? The steps i put are the steps you need to take to find the jobs in kuwait. and the fact that its on the left side bar and under the option search it is confusing and not user friendly.

You might have had your cv since 98 but monstergulf just launched last month..

Mark,

What you are saying is correct. Bayt.com *did* require one extra step. That page has been removed and you now go directly to the main page. I don’t know when was the last time you visited Bayt.com but you now we have little flags that represent each country for which you are trying to search a job. Another thing is that Bayt.com has rss feeds, so that you can see the latest job directly from your browser or favorite rss reader.

Just for the records I am a Bayt.com employee – No need to check my IP 😉

i’ll say one thing, after having lived in north america for a considerable amount of time bayt.com is missing an essential component. uploading CV’s and incorporating them in your own CV profile. monster.com has this, as well as monstergulf.com. the rest of the major job sites used around the world have this option as well but sadly they don’t cater to the middle east (at least not yet?). monster’s the first to ake that initiative. bayt.com may have the market share right now, but monster gulf (which is in beta mode still) still has quite some time before it takes over as the head hancho in the middle east job market web portal, and once it’s there…i’m sure it’ll be there to stay.

actually, till now i didnt get any job from monster gulf , and i’v been trying 4 months now and i updated my resum so many times, so if any one some other idea, i will be thanfull.aicha

i am a user of both bayt.com and monstergolf.com
i have great IT skills and good experience, it was a pain in the ass for me to fill all required field at bayt.com , after many years i got nothing, no job opportunity , and NO , my cv was verry well written , and my skills were very attractive ,after many consultations and many modifications to my cv, and no job opportunity i switched to monstergolf.com and guess what!!! one week i got a job opportunity.

bayt.com : so many pain to and so many reviews to make your cv and result is nothing.
monstergulf : 1 min upload Cv , 30 min to configure agents , 1 week got a job opportunity.

All the debate about whether or not they are easy to use. Does anyone actually get a job offer through these sites. My experience from living and working in Abu Dhabi and Dubai was that all the jobs were filled through internal company transfers. So many people are lined up for jobs with the expectation of easy money, that rarely do companies need to go outside. If they do, speaking Arabic is almost always required, as is some very high level of skill that is simply not attained by most job seekers. I think that for most people, like 99 per cent, the reality is that living and working in the Emirates is an illusion. At my office, we had expats come in every day with amazing C.V.s and, most had work permits, which are very necessary, but none actually got recruited. As I said before, we had so many people internally from other locations desperate to come to work, it wasnt necessary to hire anyone.

Is it worthy to pay $598 to Monster gulf for uploading CV. I am getting calls continously from their call center agents from India to pay for modifying my CV in order to arrange good job oppurtunity.
Please can some one answer me.?
