I was sitting having my salad at Pizza Hut in Muthana Complex (Kuwait City) with Nat when I look to my left and see a huge fucking cockroach on the table! I quickly got up surprising Nat who hadn’t yet noticed the intruder yet. I was like look there is a fucking cockroach on the table which quickly made her get up in disgust and shock. So I call the head waitress over and I told her there was a huge cockroach on the table. She calmly asks us if we would like to change to another table. I asked her if there were gonna be any cockroaches there and she laughed and said no. I didn’t find any of this funny. We sat down at the new table but neither Nat nor I felt like finishing our salads so I got up to the counter to pay the bill.
While I was standing there waiting for the cashier to hand me back my change I hear Nat calling a waiter and then telling him that the cockroach is back on our old table, he quickly goes and kills it. I tell the cashier I want to talk to the manger and he tells me OK but then starts tidying up around the register and putting away menus and stuff. So I tell the cashier I wanted to see the manager NOW, he was like why is there a problem? I was like fuck yes now get me the manager. The manager comes out of the kitchen and asks me what the problem was. I told him the problem was there was a huge fucking cockroach on the table while we were eating. I told him I found that disgusting and I would never come back to the place again. The manager who looked like he was confused and didn’t know what to do told me the reason for the cockroach was that they had sprayed the night before. I told him I didn’t fucking care and thats not an excuse since there was a fucking cockroach on my table! Seeing as I wasn’t even going to be able to convince the manager that the cockroach on the table was a problem I picked up my stuff and left.
I am never going back to another Pizza Hut again. Other then the cockroach on the table I found the staff very unprofessional and I found the manager to be incompetent and an idiot. He barely even apologize about the cockroach nor did he offer any kind of compensation! I am now going to make sure the owners, Al Homaizi Food Group know about this incident and I will also send an email to Pizza Hut international so they know what kind of managers work for them. This was really fucking disgusting.

مارك ، لا أعتقد أنه يوجد مطعم من مطاعم الدنيا كلها من يقوم بحماية المستهلكين او (الزائرين) من تلك الحشرات اللعينة .. أغلب المطاعم تجد فيها مدير ، كاشير ، النادل ، الطباخ .. و لكن بكل تأكيد لا تجد شخص متخصص على كل طاولة بيده مبيد للحشرات !
عليك التفكير مجددا .. حتى في أفخم البيوت توجد الحشرات .. الا تعتقد أن المطاعم المفتوحة لا تدخلها حشرات !

I found a living lady bird beetle in my cesar salad at a local famous restaurent.
It was alive and navigating my chopped lettuce freely.
I called them, they asked me if I need another meal. I said No. finished my current meal knowing that at least it was alive and not chopped inside my salad.
To Frankom. I agree you cant stop roaches from roaming around, but proper pesticide spraying usually reduces insects to an extremely high degree.
I think Mark is complaining more on the attitude of the manager and staff rather than the roach itsself.

Al Homaizi knows & they’ve complained to the pest control company whoz doin the service a ton of times. The pest control’s reply is that, pizza hut doesnt keep the place clean.
By the way, PAPAJOHNS ROCKS!!!. Itz just awesome… By the way, the same pest control company does the service to papajohns too.

I’m kind of surprised that some people take roaches as being normal still. I remember even 10 years ago they really were a common sight everywhere in Kuwait, but now many years have passed since I’ve seen even one. (Hamdulillah)
You have to take into consideration that Al-Muthana complex has been around for God knows how long. It probably has roaches that have been living there for generations…a little spraying in a tiny corner of Al-Muthana will not make a difference unfortunately…

Many times I’ve found hairs in my meals (at various places) but I generally tend to ignore that, since I realise that I must have eaten many hairs that I haven’t noticed.
Also, I try to live by the rule that the more we are exposed to unhygienic things, the more resistant we become…:) Dumb…but maybe it might work?
Still, a roach is way beyond the limit of what I could stomach.
The same thing happened to me. I ordered a salad with lettuce and I got small insects on the lettuce around 10, when I took it back to him he said no it’s only carrots. You cannot imagine my response to him, but let’s leave it at that all people outside the restaurant herd me yelling . pizza hut sucks

Dude… chill… it’s part of nature, I hate roaches too but dude to go to all these people and start complaining? It could be because the building is contaminated… right, so I’ll shut up.
i don’t think these idiots actually get trainning on what to do in a situation like this bc kuwait is just generally a filthy place and ppl just put up with it.
Okay, first thing; they probably would have sprayed recently, because the way it works is they spray the places that would most likely contain the actual roaches, so the roaches naturally move out, forcing them onto the table; i.e. they hired unskilled personnel to spray the place, if they cut down on pesticide budget, which also means the entire place is filthy.
In a situation like this, if the staff’s first reaction isn’t to try and fix things, start by refusing to pay, see if that gets things going; if it doesnt, to hell with them, there’s nothing you can do about it here, so you might as well walk out.

I am a pizza hut fans eventhough i eat papa john but always pizza hut the best .Their pizza is simply the best.When I return to kuwait ,the first thing i will do is go to pizza hut.

The manager and staff were extremely apologetic AFTER I raved about how I could have cut my mouth. I got offered a free salad and we got 4 free juice vouchers. In retrospect I wish that I had really started a scene but at that time I was really tired and wanted to just get on with it!
Roach on tables, in salad, food ..etc; though very disturbing, but sadly will always happen. Sometimes one can’t control whats inside the single vegetable or what could slip through the front/back entrances…
Whats unjustifiably wrong in your situation is the manager/staff reaction. I would draft a nasty yet, objective letter.. not that i would expect anything to happen, just the satisfaction that you did something about it 🙂

Their pizzas are really nice and the rest has a nice view at the Gulf-road plus the Enviroment is really comfortable and relaxing for example No one is looking at you while you eat!
….Now, I havent particularly been overseas….(I’m quite happy staying at home…..fear of heights kinda keep me from flying, and sea sickness keeps me from going on boats too much)….but I just read all this…..and I GOTTA say something…….
First off, I’ve worked in PLENTY of restaurants, and I have NEVER seen this problem, nor have I ever heard of staff being that absolutely fucking RETARDED……well, I’ve seen the second one, but they were usually fired the next day…..by Me.
If I were you, I wouldnt even bother going to the chain’s owners. They’re probably too busy sitting on their fat asses collecting money and rolling around naked in it. Especially if the neighborhood in general isnt any better than the restaurant itself. No. I’d go to the Health Department, or whatever they call it over there….And then find the HIGHEST motherfucker in that bitch. THEN complain. Reason being, the higher you go, the more notice someone has to take. Even better is if you can get pictures.
Then, if THAT doesnt work……(which hopefully it does….this next step is kinda unsavory and might just get you in a bit of trouble…)
I know this is gonna sound weird. But. Go back to the place, eat there again. If it happens again, shove the damned thing down the manager’s throat, by force if you have to, and then turn around and tell him that if he doesnt do SOMETHING to clean the place up, theres gonna be a lot of trouble. Dont tell him what, cause this is actually a bit of a bluff. What trouble there will be depends on what all you can do while there. Whether traveling, or serving in the military, it all depends. However, whether or not you actually DO anything about it, it might just put a bit of fear into the guy.
I know I’m probably gonna get ragged on for this whole post, but Hell, everyone’s entitled to their own opinions and possible solutions, right?
