Just found out Alshaya are bringing IHOP to Kuwait. IHOP stands for International House of Pancakes and is an American breakfast chain. I don’t think they’re open anywhere outside of North America.
In non-food related news, Harvey Nichols will be opening their first store in Kuwait in Avenues Phase III. Originally Harvey Nichols said they were opening the store in the summer of 2011 but not sure if that’s still the case since I thought Phase III still needed more time then that to be completed.
Thanks damdy

At last a decent place to eat breakfast. Love it a lot!
oh god, another totally dated franchise.
Aj get real. iHOP is awesome!
Putting IHOP in the avenues is retarded. I can’t imagine many people will go there at breakfast time. They should have opened up next to CO-OPs (like KFC and Hardee’s).
who said they’re opening at avenues?
My source who works with AlShaya.
Wow I can’t wait to go to an IHOP that isn’t full of thugs, truckers, and skanks. Looking forward to it.
Not many truckers here can afford it but the thugs and skanks I can see! LOL!
Only if its open 24 hours, only then it will be a true IHOP.
Can taste that short stack already.
Next – Denny’s
Oh god IHOP was SHIT in the US, full of white trash thugs and mexican gangs. It was failing there the last time i checked compared to Dennys, another 24/hr restaurant.
Looks like they are trying to cash in on the name by dumping it in Kuwait like other crap american brands have done. So how is this gonna be open 24/hrs (the whole point of the place) in Avenues?
It seems Alshaya have lost their mojo.
No way… wow… iHop…. i’m really impressed with al-shaye3 🙂
The only special thing about IHOP is operating 24/7. Nothing special about the food, it is below average. IHOP saved us during a skiing trip at thanksgiving holiday when everything was closed.
YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS
The only time i ever saw IHOP full was after hours. For those who lived in boston, you know which one, next to the charles. he he he With a state trooper next to the door.
I wonder if the same type of crowd will be here, full after the “B”arties and one skinny kuwaiti co”b” at the door.
Good food though.
Phase III is opening in November 2011, so almost 1 year to go!
How many restaurants have opened this year?
Seriously, stop it…
Yesssssss! Great….I had heard about this a year back. Its about time…love the place.
IHOP…come hungry, leave happy 😛
YUCK! hate it with all my being 😛
Ma63am faaaaaaaaashl
OMG!! I LOVE iHop!!!
Yawn…. yet another suburban white trash franchise, although I admit I have indulged at IHOP on a few occasions at some ungodly hour in the morning when common sense takes a backseat to monster cravings of pancakes and syrup!
But for now I’ll stick to Prime & Toast which is open 24/7 and isn’t be in a goddamn mall…
hahahahah ihop isn’t even that great so i wouldn’t get all excited :-l
SOO looking forward to IHOP in Kuwait. IHOP in states doesnt have the best rep in the world but in Kuwait the clientele are different. I eat my yummy American breakfast at Early Bird but a little competition is ok. IHOP will do well here. Figures its Al-Shaya…the Jewish Kuwaiti. LOL
i dont knoww if arab people like pancack same american people
Been saying this for years that IHOP should open up here and well finally it is. But i am not thrilled of it opening at the Avenues. IHOP is not the Cheesecake Factory, it is breakfast place and should be outside of the mall setting. It should be on its on, as it is a 24hr joint!
It’s open already???
tomorrow 🙂
