New Air Conditioned Bus Stops

I spotted this new air conditioned bus stop today in Kuwait City. It’s pretty spacious on the inside with one split unit providing the cold air and a long bench for seating. What’s interesting is the no smoking or you will be fined KD15 warning plastered inside. I wish they would apply that to malls and restaurants and not just bus stops.

Wouldn’t matter – they don’t enforce them anywhere they already exist. The airport is a mockery. Had a friend stand underneath a no smoking sign. Some dupe lit up and my friend complained. The guy left only to have two security guards and and airport employee come over a couple of minutes later and light up just to make a point.

Like all the other laws and rules here…..

I need to know one thing: How does the bus driver know that you want him to stop? Does he even see if there’s anybody inside?
I know they bus drivers here are always in a hurry, and since people are gonna be sitting inside, he has an excuse to pass by and act like he didn’t see them…

Laws are only as good as the enforcement. I’d love to see someone enforce them at the malls which are supposed to be non smoking.

Whatever happened to the strike of the bus drivers?

funny that this new lovely bus stop is built in the residential shuwaikh area where all the posh people of kuwait live. im sure this bus stop should have been situated somewhere else where people who actually use the bus stops would benefit from it.

1: This will consume more electricity if they make more of it.

2: I’m sure people that don’t need to get on a bus will just lounge in there. You bet they will. It’s friggin Kuwait out here maaaan..

3: That indeed…is fugly. I only see non Kuwaitis using it.

P.S: How about they set up a beverage vending machine in there? It would be more like a resting spot than a bus stop

FINALLY Kuwait starts showing some compassion to the unfortunate workers who cannot afford a car!

Although I must agree with Nawaf…they are FUGLY…the one’s in Dubai look much better!

Anyways, it’s definitely a plus..I just hope they maintain them well!

when i passed by it I thought it was actually a transit office of some sort. What made things more confusing is when I noticed 3 transit employees inside. I had to go in and ask them if this was an actual bus stop lol

I thought this is done by charity work… if they open donations for this im pretty sure all bus stops in kuwait will end up being air conditioned before the end of the year.

they should have constract these bus stop that bus driver can see if there is any one sitting inside the bus stop. and make it even better with providing internet wifi service lolzz

I had the same thought as Tweez, that AC seems prone to theft!

I also agree with tweez about it not being safe for women/girls, especially at night, the bulbs can easily be broken and no one will know what happens inside until it’s too late!

Just one remark ,this container needs another exit door in case of an emergency for users to escape such as a car hitting this bus stop which happens quiet often here .otherwise it will be an airconditioned death trap .

In Q8 public services means 4 NON Kuwaiti ppl, hence poor quality.. doesn’t matter even it makes the country look ugly

In UAE Public Service is for all, for poor, middle class and reach.. UAE Nationals and outsiders..

After Looking at this bus stop.. I wonder How Kuwait Railway will look like??? when project finished
