Over the weekend I spotted the new KDD ice cream package designs and names on iLSul6ana’s blog and I found them depressing. Gone are our Burgan’s and Failaka’s, gone are the cute little Kuwaiti kids on the package, they’ve now been replaced with generic Blitz. Maybe if we all complain loud enough we can get back the old names and package designs?

It might just be a wrapper for some people, but for others who grew up with them, it’s more.

No! I love that Failaka strawberry ice-cream! &^%#@*! Don’t they know that ‘new’ is ‘bad’ most of the time?
We should make some kind of protest… just please don’t turn it like those ‘arab revolutions’ that have been going on of late.

Only icecream I missed when not in Kuwait was Failaka. And so many memories attached to it. And forget about people’s attachment but that rebranding is totally crappy!
That’s sad! I guess we’ll all miss the memorable packaging while digging into the ice cream freezers for our childhood favorites. What about Lulu? I hope it’s not discontinued.

Oh man! I remember that brown one years ago! That and another darker brown ice cream, but the light one was my favorite, especially the chocolate core! I’m seeing the pink one for the first time though, did that come out just a few years ago?

Man that really sucks! I was looking for Failaka the other day and found these instead on Friday! I wasn’t expecting that!
I hope they are not gonna discontinue those Banana, Starberry and orange flavoured Lolly’s…

Couldn’t they find an easier English word? And who takes a number of good names and turns them into one horrible unpronounceable name? Its like calling all your children with the word b7boo7 or something

NOOOO I’m crushed. What has gotten into them? Poor inconsiderable rebranding. Couldn’t they spice up the actual package with a twist to the design and font ? Or like the person above me who suggested a new line instead of altering this one. If there was a petition I’d gladly sign it, voting against this ugly new name and package.

It just hit me, they changed the name from ‘Failaka’ to ‘Bitz’ that’s straight up westernization there… *sigh* today’s generation; confusing Westernization with Modernization… haha, no pun intended.

I just realized that blitz means attack! why are they calling it an attack? the cover looks more like a bling than a blitz, maybe they got the names mixed up?
