Problems with Qualitynet

I am really getting frustrated with my Qualitynet connection. It’s like every week they have some kind of major problem and their DSL connection either crawls to a halt or just stops working completely. Currently I can barely load websites because the connection is so bad. I am trying to call qualitynet support but they keep hanging up. After around 9 or 10 minutes being on hold the music stops and I think someone is finally going to pick up when they end up hanging up on me. This happened 3 times now. Last week they had issues and the week before that. Qualitynet are you reading this? This is frustrating!

Anyone else having problems with their internet provider?

Update: Ok I am definitely changing providers. I just had my worst experience with customer support in my 3 5 year history with them. I finally got through to customer support and a guy picks up. I tell him I have a major issue with my connection. He goes uhum. I am like yeah its been like this since 5pm. He was like is this Patrick? I was like WTF? No I am not Patrick. I then proceed to give him my DSL phone number and he then replies you have a problem with your internal building line. I was like dude are you reading random notes off your computer screen? The building line problem is a completely different issue, yesterday the engineer was over trying to see if I could install 4MB and the internal line issue is that the building gets 4MB but by the time it gets to my apartment the max is 2MB. He then proceeds to explain to me I can only get 512kb. I was like what are you talking about? I was using 2MB until a month ago and up until 5 minutes ago I was on 1.5 what do you mean I can only get 512kb? Anyway long story short he had to be the most incompetent customer support person I had ever dealt with. In the end I ended up closing the phone with him and calling them back up again to talk to another support guy. Everything is back to normal now finally.

Update2: Called Kems (Zajil) and spoke to a guy who sounded like he was asleep. I asked him a few questions and he answered but he didn’t sound too confident. He told me if want to get 2MB for KD200 I need to act now because their offer expires on September 5th. So I need to make my decision in the next couple of days if I want to move either to Fasttelco or Kems. Kems I think would be more practical since our new office is going to be located right next to their head office which makes it easier in case I need to pass by them.

Update3: Qualitynet just called me and told me my problem is my internal building/house wiring and because I was a loyal customer they would send a technician to swap out the whole wiring at their expense. I told the guy that I live in a huge complex and it’s not possible to swap out the line or I would have paid for it myself. I told him I had been using 2MB for 8 months and 1.5MB for like 2 months and yesterday I was told my line could only handle 512kb. He insisted to send someone over so I agreed. Will see what happens.

Update4: Well just an update, I don’t think I will be moving over to Kems. Ever since my post multiple people have been calling me from qualitynet to see what problems i have and trying to solve it. They even offered to rewire my phone line throughout the building! Qualitynet reads my blog and they want to keep me happy so that’s more than enough to convince me to stay with them.

Join the club, I am suppose to get a 5Mb connection but shit happens and I keep on getting dc’ed. Been like this for a month now and every week I get them to send a guy who gives me the same crappy general answer. Their fucking name is ironic in itself, there is no quality when it comes to quality net. Seriously thinking about switching to Zajil Kems.

Fucked up connection and terrible customer service was precisely why I left QualityNet when I lived in Kuwait. I went with Kems, never had to call their customer service.

im having the problem too !! and i reduced my speed from 6 MB to 4 MB and they keep on ignoring my calls and they gave me a ticket number before 4 days without any response .. im going to change to united networks or fast telco !

blushberry … dont switch to united … they are even worse … im supposed to have a 2mb connection but it keeps disconnecting every 10 minutes … switching to kems soon

KEMS is good, I have used their services. Their customer care is good and you can really get to speak to their actual technitians during worst down times, no text book answers or long waits with lame tunes on your support calls. Also I think KEMS fiber backbone is different than that of Qualitynets so if any sleepy Captain of a ship tears apart a few under sea cables, KEMS is usually still up but at a slower speed.

My qualitynet connection is expiring next month anyway so I guess will be moving to KEMS. How long does it take usually to switch the DSL connection from one isp to another?

they first told me 2 weeks…then a week … then 3 days
thats why i havnt switched yet … itll take atleast a 3 days … not ready to give up my net for 3 days -_-

I am using KEMS since mid 90’s
1. They do not deliver the speed you pay for
2. ALL their hot spots are in places you may never visit / check the list
3. Besides the [above] I never had to call them for support

it happened to me while the ministry was changing the sewage system. while they were digging they accidentally cut the phone cables. after a couple of days technicians from the ministry came and fixed it up. after a couple of weeks it happened again with another house which effected us as well…

Fasttelco has improved greatly as well, forget Quality Net and United.

Quality has always been a joke, evertime we called them for technical issues theyd respond: ‘the cable between us and bahrain is down’ – its like that’s their standard answer for the last decade.

Go for Fast or Kems.

I have been using their internet for over 7 yrs and have very rarely called their customer support.Their sppeds are good and they also give me full bandwidth upload and download when i was using their 512 connection.I cannot comment on the hotspots , but last month , when i went for vacation I had a good time in the airport with the zajil hotspot, using my account.

I use to be with Kems DSL service for like 2 years, then I shifted to FASTTELCO and im with them since 2003 and never had any technical problems with line. At present I have 3MB with them, and I get pure 3MB download. There services are good. I don’t remember calling there support also. Highly recommended.

Great that you’ve mentioned it, I was about to get a connection from them, after someone criticized fasttelco. Then what do you recommend? Kems?

Using FT here and I can see that pings to twitter and digg are above 500ms, still, these pages fully in 4 seconds for me.

My suggestion is you could either move to FT or KEMS, my friends say that KEMS is not bad.

I’ve been with FT for 2 years and during any cable cut I get the promised speed, I havent had any downtimes with FT so far.

KEMS has Zajil wifi hotspots, theyre not bad, but I think you need to be disconencted from your home DSL inorder to use it.
I don’t know much about united networks, havent heard any comments on them.

*fully load in

nevermind, pings to twitter and digg are back to normal, i wonder whats up with the inconsistent ping to USA.

+I’ve checked with another Qnet user and its fine for them.

I used to have United Networks, and just last month switched to Qualitynet.

Every week (If not every day) There are connection problems and I’m sick of it.

I’m supposed to get 250ish KB(Bytes not bits) pers second, but it frequently dips down to 30ish KB.

i had the same problem with my 2MB connection they came over and told me that the line can only handel 1MB or ill have to rewire the whole house WHICH I DID AND IT STILL SUCKS

I’ve been with qualitynet for 5 years, but since last year’s summer the connection became so bad, every hour my line drops and get disconnected for like 2-3mins, absolutely unstable.

i have Qnet 2MB , and i only get 340-560 kp !! the technicians came to my house 2 times , and they checked surra maqsam , nothing solved the problem , i have to restart the modem 2-4 times a day !!

too bad that i have to wait until April to change the provider , or one day am gona lose it and change it and screw the 6 months i payed in advance !

Well no one talk about united networks honestly iam with them since 2 years and never called them at all, 2nd when the internet get down in Kuwait during under sea cables problem i still can use the internet without restriction because they are the only company has satellite internet in Kuwait and they have their backup
thanx

Mark.. im facing the same. my line supports 2MB. and i have had 2mb for about 2 years now.. and last week they say, my line only supports 512. im like wtf… then after an hour of arguing,, then managed to get things back up…

im going to kems..

I had the same problem, i had a 256kb and upgraded to 1MB (paid a year in advance). It worked fine for 2 months then the connection was as bad as dial-up. I called them more than 10 times and they keep sending thier technician! According to them they cannot refund if there is a chance to resolve the issue. The problem continued for nearly 6 months (giving me all the useless replies everyone gets) & i got so fed up with seeing thier technician that i threatened to go to “7emayet al mostahlik” (which for some reason no one does) to get my money back. As soon as they heard that they refunded ALL my money…switched to Zain and never looked back, i was worried that my line could not take DSL. Damn them made me doubt every provider out there.

Mark. FT and Kems are the best. I have Kems with 512 and 1M connection in my house. In the first days you’ll have some problems with Kems but after those days you’ll never have to call them. Considering FT, they claim that they have the best servers in Kuwait. But you’ll use proxy heavily because they block many sites.

pretty much the same exact story happened to me over the past week mark
do u recommend any other service providers??
its really really frustrating… i cant download the latest entourage 😛

I’m having a major problem with them since INFO fair this year. Almost 10 months i was using 1MB speed & upgraded to 2MB at INFO….since then my speed reduced to 512….and having regular therapy sessions with their customer support team….they even forwarded me to MOC office…..with no result….I felt like repented of my upgrade…..they are full of craps…..I am totally freaked of their service being a customer over 7 years…..

I also had the same bad experience with Qualitynet. They failed to provide me even 512kbps Connection. They spent one month in processing of new connection application. One technical guy is coming and saying it,s problem with telephone line than another guy is coming after few days than again one more guy is coming to me.In the end,They refused my application by saying that i have problem with my telephone line .I still remember the comments of Qnet guy ,He told me i can,t get even 64kbps using this telephone line. Now i am using Fast telco 512kbps connection on the same telephone line.Fast telco service is better.

In our office we are using Mada Communication 2 MB wireless connection and we never faced any problem. It,s quite expensive. Some times our router gone down because of electricity problem in office and mada communication customer service agent called me and asked me.Sir,your connection is totally down on your side. Please check. 🙂

QualityNET is by far the worst provider in Kuwait.

KEMS/Zajil is the only one that has spent the money to lay their own fiber net in Kuwait, which is why their service is very good.

FAST provide WiMAX, which is a good option if your physical line is a problem.

United — never heard a good thing about them.

Well United is out of the question, I would never swap over to them after my experience with global direct (showtime).

How much does the WiMax thing cost?

where we can complain against these ISPs? , what are the consumer rights? . we give our hard earned money ,but at the end we are working hard to get quality service .

Qnet are having issues lately. The past 2 months my line is not stable at all. It takes forever for the modem to negoiate. They told me you have a line problem and it only supports 64K!!!! I had 2 MB for the past year now and is working smoothly.

Some outsourced technician passes by, checks the line from the main DB he says it is perfect. Goes upstairs plugs his modem, and still perfect. For some reason it started working. He says change your modem it is not good!

WTF!

something to add along my earlier comment. Qualitynet does not have their own team who usually visit your premises in case of problem. Things happened with me is that so called “engr.” visited my place and suggested me to change my building wire (from main box 2 to may apartment) to CAT6 cable. He charged me 46 KD and told after 3 days it will be 2MB…….and from then my 1MB turns 512…..and my therapy session continues with qualitynets support team……

United Networks sucks.
Last year they started offering 128 kbps for KD 7.5 per month. But I had taken an annual subscription a couple of months before the offer. When I went to their office to get my connection extended, they said that I can not avail the new offer as it is for new customers only (so all the old/loyal customers can just f*&^ off)
I told him I might as well pay 5 bucks, cancel my subscription and get a new one. He had no remorse, and replied ‘Yes. Why don’t you do that?’
But their only saving grace is that they have a couple of guys in their tech support who are helpful and can solve the issues in a few minutes. But you must be lucky to get them on the line. Other wise all you will get is – “Please restart your modem sir and everything will be fine.”
Am moving off to KEMS or FT this month.

Zain is coming out with a new 14 mbps service next week and up to 21 mbps in around 6 months. This should beat all of those landline crappy providers. However there is a download limit and it sux bigtime because zain can pretty much force you to hit the limit in no time and you’re going to be busted for the rest of the month. Also zain’s customer service is the worst, they never return your calls. High speeds, bad customer service & questionable metering pretty much puts them on par with qualitynet. Maybe Viva is the answer but I havent tried them out.

Well the only problem here is only the Custemors that facing problems complain and talk bla bla bla like this , they have over tousends of custemor , and all working fine with them , just the ppl who’s facing a problem call everytime , ffs if u have a problem , just let it go and get out and go suscribe with other ISP there like 4 in kuwait , dont set and just talk on it !!! i have speed of 3 mb and its working perfect till now without any problem and im a custemor with them like 5 years row , so pls stop ur bla bla bla and go find somthing good to do !

When you pay a year in advance its not easy to just let it go. We complain in hopes of getting the problem fixed so our money doesn’t go down the drain.

I’m using VIVA internet. It’s never slowed down and I’ve managed to download 200 gb in less than a month. The best connection I’ve ever had. For the price of 24 KD a month, I’m happy with the download speeds.

am using quality net connection for more than 4 years.
Never had problem with it.
Actually problem that line and vertical cables of MOC is not handling the high speeds so i advise you not to supscribe more than 1MB even with other ISPs
Regards

I have 2 MB connection..it gives me the full speed only on torrent??!!

is that normal??

So which provider is the best??

Yeah they always use that excuse.

“The problem’s not with us, it’s with you”

My modem is fine, my line is fine, it can handle 2mbps, hell it can handle 8mbps.

Their customer service is the worst.

Forgot to add, Wnet is good because you can pay as you go. 25KD/month, no long term contract. Question is, how fast is it, and what kind of limits are there?

Wnet, Zain and Viva internet speed varied according to time and location. They become slower at rush hour. Considering location, the speed you’ll get in Khaldiya is not the same as Abdulla Al-Mhbarak. I live in Abdulla Al-Mubarak, there Wnet speed is slow to acceptable. Zain is poor and Viva is excellent. I remember that Zain has the 30GB limit but Wnet and Viva both have no limit.

On Update 3: Good Luck Mark, I have had a guy come over 3 times now and he kept on telling me they will raise some crap at the central, whatever that is. Come a week later he comes back and sees that nothing has been raised. Qnet is loosing all its credibility with me. Hopefully if alot of people leave them at once they will do a better job next time.

I just tried calling KEMS a few times and THEY are the ones who kept me waiting for a while and when my turn finally comes up they hung up! Several times! Which makes me wonder what happens if I actually was their costumer and in dire need of their support.
My account is due to expire next month with Qualitynet but it seems that “s3ayed o5o bilal” -an old Kuwaiti adage. I’ll stick with the old thank you very much. Although the support guys are a bit thick but at least I get a real person on the phone with Qualitynet.

lol “alot of ppl leave them at once” man only the ppl like that have problem will leave if they think to leave , they already have alots of custemor but u should know that first tell the MOC to fix their lines from their side then check if ur gana have problems or not !!

ok now a question….& perhaps someone will give some feedback…..we all agree that MOC lines are way too old and hard to hold high bandwidth….so is MOC is coming up with some upgrades solutions??

as i heard they replacing the normal line with Fiber Optic but i think its gana take loooong time to finish it !

Seriously everyone, when did you ever feel there is actually a decent customer support in Kuwait ? in ANY company of any sort, this thing is too silly that it makes you wana cry !!

Never dealt with hardwired DSL services here in q8, but I can tell you that Zain is &^%$, Wnet is much much better and stable, and Viva has been serving me great for the past 3 months or so, never needed more download power since I switched from Wnet to Viva, at 500+kB/s average it is quite awesome, hope they still maintain the same quality for the rest of my one year contract. (I did notice some major slow downs in their DNS since the first of ramadan, but once it does get a lock on the IP the speed is quite good).

Mark, i’ve had Fastelco for over 6 years now And didn’t have any problems…When i had any problems I called customer support and it was usually a wire Problem outside Of kuwait And it always Gets Fixed 3 to 4 hours later . Hope this help you ; )

i had the same exact problem with qualitynet and they told me that my line only can have 512kb then a guy from them came and screwed everything up, even the normal landlines that don’t have dsl on them my house was ripped apart of land lines so i finally called up a guy i know to come and fix it and he said it will take a month to get it fixed. now i’m on fastellco there the best they said my line could have 10mb but its too expensive so i got 4mb and no problem whatsoever.

LoL Mark, I like how your post got Qnet employees out of their hive to comment here under the fake guise of satisfied customers.

One guy in particular, mrFitness, I could swear that he’s one of my acquaintances who happens to work with Qnet’s support staff. I know because he’s so in love with that nickname he once had it sewn onto a tshirt LoL. Hello Khalid! 🙂

Mark u didn’t see what kind of hell i went through. Subscribed on aug. 2nd for 2 MBs. Got the service running full speed on aug. 5th. On aug. 10th it was disconnected till last thursday (around 17 days). This whole time they kept sending me technicians to my house and the central. The problem is that the cable and lines are healthy because there’s another line at the house uses 2 MBs from qnet and its in the same cable so, wtf? Things got complicated when they reduced the speed to 64 k using their stupid spacelink techinicians without any solution. In the end, one guy from spacelink told me to go and get my money back. I just went this tuesday and after so much shouting ans threatening, of course they blackmailed in cutting off the 5 days of usage, which wont go easily, i cancelled my account and didnt want to give me my money only after two weeks just to piss me off. Here’s the punchline: it got activated this thursday!!! And they been trying to reach me all the time. I got general manager’s private mobile # (nael al-awadhi) and i’m gonna call him tomorrow (through deep connection) and i’m getying my money back and that enezi in customer care in the basement is gonna get what he deserves!

i use fasttelco @ office , atleast when something is wrong you talk to professionals who understand what are you talking about

i have qnet at home since 1998 (dialup days) changed once to united and switched back to qnet again

Guys, I just had a loooong ass talk with a guy from Quality net called Ashraf. All these downgrades are to blame on either your phone lines, or the ministry. Now I then asked told him that people here were on 2MB for a year and got pulled down to 512. He said that the lines tend to wear down over time. I didn’t tell him about switching to another ISP, but if the case for the slowdown is because of the lines…it is pointless to do so as you will likely have the same problem with the new ISP. Here is to hoping QNet fixes my problem as my problem is from the ministry and not from my end.

OK….

I have been with Qualitynet for the past 10 years with perfect performance ranging from 256K –> 1M. Then I decided to treat myself and upgrade to 2M. Biggest mistake in my life.

Spent the next 2 months working with a bunch of incompetent technicians, and constant visits by third party engineers. Had my speed drop from 2M (worked for three days) to 64K. Told me that the best solution is to use the paradyne modem. That only made matters worse. Finaly. they gave up! Told me best solution is to try to get 256K connection and not to dream to get my old 1M back as the line has degraded!

I WAS PISSED. Went to the main offices. Met with there boss canceled the 1 year subscription. Got a full refund.

In 5 days FT managed to work the coonection back to 1M staright away.

Just switch providers.

I’m using wnet with their wireless router, and am getting just under 1.5mbps. Works like a charm while playing xbox online.

Just talked to general manager of qnet today and he’ll call me back in two days , and the idiots from technical support keep calling me to check if my connection is working fine(though i cancelled) from their 1800 number ! How am i supposed to respond to a missed call from badalah, such idiots!

first of all the number is 1804444 they dont have a number like 1800* Second even when they call u and u dont respond and its gana be a missed call they will send u a msg telling kindly call again , so dont talk to much and dont make urself an lost ediota 😀 !

Hi mark & nat,
it’s been few days i don’t have access to e-gulfbank.com from viva.
btw, viva is very heavy at noon and it’s getting worse each day.
is there anyone has the same problem with me?

A word of advice , i have 2MB Qnet and its giving me 540 at best ! of course they told me my line bla bla bla , and they offerd me a paradyne modem . and since then , i get under 540kp and i have to restart the modem like 5 times a day ! so if they offered you the paradyne solution , don’t take it . it will make things wore .

Lol Qnetfan, your name says enough. Why don’t you go back to your crumbling company that knows not what they are doing and accidentally have cables cut 30 times a year. 😀

Also when Luna said 1800 it means a badala as badala’s in the states tend to begin with 1800 and so forth. So you my friend are the “ediota”. Wow I have a feeling your probably one of QNet’s tech support people…XD

Well BJ (Black Jack Table) biiig Similarity between u 😛 and can ask u somthing , do u think that any ISP company here who has more then lets say 1k ppl his gana care about u or if u have a problem , his gana dump u like ****** hehe so shut up and go to ur cave and relax like hmmm for 10 more years maybe the connection here will be better lol
see ya ! *AH*

Lol oh really? Doesn’t care about one customer you say? Well that says a lot about the ISP and the people who work there then huh…Also similarity to a black Jack table? I fail to see how a person can be similar to that, would you mind elaborating? Oh I am sorry is that too big of a word for you to understand? Well it’s alright you don’t need to go to dictionary.com to look it up, it means to explain 🙂
Anyways it doesn’t really matter. If an ISP stops caring about one customer then you could also say that or stops caring about all customers. Now you go to sleep qnetfan, no need to worry your little mind over what us adults have to say okay then? 😉

some ppl had good exp with Qualitynet some ppl had bad exp, some ppl loves Qualitynet some ppl hates them.. same thing applies with all ISP and for that matter all other services providers like mobile operators & other media

ppl start fighting and arguing and taking things personal… pointless.

Mbarak 3aleekom el shahr.

3alayna o 3alayk 7abeeb. I was just trying to make a point that if an ISP stops caring about one customer it might as well stop caring about all of them Hammour.

BJ, I wouldn’t agree less, I wasn’t addressing you in particular though, it goes for all of us, glad you are not taking it personal 🙂

Qnetfan, if you are staff then the least you can do is reflect a good image as much as you can, otherwise we are what we say 🙂

What a peaceful mood XD

Well just an update, I don’t think I will be moving over to Kems. Ever since my post multiple people have been calling me from qualitynet to see what problems i have and trying to solve it. They even offered to rewire my phone line throughout the building! Qualitynet reads my blog and they want to keep me happy so that’s more than enough to convince me to stay with them.

I hope they solve your problem Mark. Right now regarding mine they narrowed it down to a jumper problem from the ministry, well see how it goes from here.

well….i came 2 a point to make a decision that to end my marriage with QNet and will be moving to Fasttelco. If I get back my 1MB atleast, I’ll be more than happy…….what recently annoying me is that after downgrading my speed to 512…..my connection robooting by itself 5/6 times daily. I’m hoping that my trauma will be over soon and from mine and all others comments…..Qualitynet will meet their customers need.

Mark…….THANKS for your forum……where person like me can exchange our issues and obtain variable opinions….

madao..
so bad that mrFitness is not khalid and by the way am his elder brother talal and we always share the same nick name.
and am tellin the truth that my connection is working more than fine and never had a problem with it.
and by the way it’s 1MB Connection not a dial up or lower speeds.
don’t think your a smart ass because if you know khalid well then u know that he don’t care about these kind of fourms.

Well Mr.hammour it’s sad im not employee with them , or I was going to do my best about this problems here , and BJ no hard feelings man , sorry for the bad words 🙂 , and btw I use google for words not ur site ;p take care all .

I feel I have to apologize aswell Qnetfan, hope you read this. I didn’t mean to act the way I did, just the frustration does that to people sometimes 😛 I know you only meant well. Take care man.

mrFitness:

LoL captain Talal (or should I say Hashim?) don’t get your panties in a bunch man! My point is still valid. You’re a former Qnet employee and your brother is a current one. If you don’t sing praises to Qnet then I don’t know who should.

Chill out captain 🙂

So bottom line am a first time subscriber , with who should I go ??
they say fastelco has a wifi bundle that can’t be found in the markets ? WTH !!!

Even if i was a former Qnet Employee that doesn’t mean am singing to them as you said.
Anyway why should i discuss those things with you anyway.
believe it or not it’s not something important to me.
Regards Mr.Madao

I HATE VIVA (%#%@!$^$&$@)
They promise the internet speed UPTO 21Mbps, while the TRUTH is less than 2Mbps!!!
Discount MORE THAN 90% !!!!

When I went to their sale point (in GUSI) he make the test in their location, and the maximum speed he reached (after several tests) to 4Mbps!!! Then he turn to me ans said (this is the standard speed, and you have to be thankful to GOD)…..

Is this a proper way to talk to customers!!!
Do you know what is the legal actions will apply on this kind of CHEATING!!!

I’m using 2 other ISP (BATELCO & MENATELECOMM), BOTH are FAAAAAARRRRRR better than VIVA.
1. The Speed is double than VIVA (while my subscription with Batyelco & MENA both is 2Mbps speed only!!!)
2. Service never disconnect,
3. Customer Service are really educated & professional.
———————————–
One example of VIVA customer service, I call them telling them the speed shows 384Kbps (not even 0.5Mbps!!!)
they answer: go to SpeedTest.net, and after the test choose (FIND FAST INTERNET CONNECTION) and it will solve your problem…..
———————————–
Can you imagine that????

WHO HIRE THESE *&^&*#$%$ customer service????

I paid for a new fasttelco connection a month ago.. still awaiting a connection and despite numerous calls and mails they just dont seem to care. if this was in the US/UK, i would have sued their ass by now.

After reading through most comments, all I did was laugh. Listen up people, I have been with all ISPs in Kuwait. They are all lying, cheating, bullshitting pieces of crap. There is no company in Kuwait that cares about customers (and I’m talking about companies in general, not just ISPs). This is the way it is in Kuwait, money comes 1st in any situation. So I can assure you, comparing ISPs is useless, they are all shit. I can tell you what’s less shittier though through my experience with them all.

QualityShit: They have the best ping rates, (gamers should always go with Qshit) But everything else is quite shitty.

Kems/Zajil: Decent for everything, But if you have internal problems, they will not help you because they don’t know how to fix them.

SlowTelco: Good download rates, steady. Shitty for games, low ping rates. Internet problems weekly.

United Network: Shit. Period.

I am well versed in Hardware and software.
O agree with Tovenaar, I too have tried all the ISP’s in Kuwaitand I have always come back to Qualitynet.

The thing is at the end of the month they run out of Bandwidth and they start claiming how their line has been cut.

The people who are having problems with their modems/routers and what not, you need to go and get a really simple a/b/g router something old and tested I use a D-Link 2640T, I bought it for 15 KD I have had it for 3 years now and I have only nice things to say about it. The new routers with N range are too power hungry and need proper cooling for proper functions. These power hungry router are not made for the temperatures of Kuwait.

If you are having range issues and want better coverage get an antenna. Don’t pay 200 KD for an antenna, I got mine from https://www.wifi-all.com, since they are based in Poland EMS postage takes a week to 10 days max to reach Kuwait and total with postage is around 15~20 KD, In Hawally you will need to shell out almost 200 KD for something like this. Seems Qnet died again today, including their phone number. I am hoping they never come back to life and so it will force me to change ISP. They are UNBELIEVABLE. And, for the record, if they blame your line, your wiring or anything but their own service it is BS.

You guys, most of the time it is a wiring problem, local within your own house or apartment. I live in salwa and for the longest time i could only get 1mb on my line(was never stable either, dropped like every other day for a few hours and sometimes a few days) and my bro who lives next door, and both our lines come out of the same box could only get 512. Once the ministry of telephone line thingie people changed my block’s system into the new fiber network, i rarely had internet issues. so i tried out Qualitynet’s DSL max, that’s 8mb and it works just fine. I even just wanted to test out how strong my line was, so for a few days my speed was 37mb (a technical error from qualitynet’s side, but to my favor 😛 ). THE PROBLEM WAS NEVER THE ISP’s, it was and is always the lines!

oh and i’m really glad ur finally back online, BUT we don’t all get the vip treatment, their customer service at times does suck, and i totally agree with you, in a crisis regarding ur internet connection, they’re not exactly as prompt as one would like/expect after being with them for a long long long LONG-A** time.

We applied for qualitynet service one month before. even after numerous calls to the company, we haven’t got the connection yet. we keep calling them and the staff doesn’t seem to understand simple english language either. they keep blaming the ministry for us not getting the connection as yet. i told them that i will complain about the company in the media and the guy didn’t even understand what I was saying. he thought i want to complain to the complaints department within the company itself. my advise, please try other ISPs’ and complain about the qualitynet company in the media. when the company loses a good number of customers, maybe they will wake up and improve their service!!!

So yea qnet is worst bloody internet joke…. 2 days the net been down.. In states we have high speed internet here is like what the f is high speed internet? Qnet need to fix it self soon..
