Update on Geo

Geo Sleeping

After stepping on Geo last night I was hoping by today morning he would be ok, well, he wasn’t. He was still limping in the morning so me and Nat decided to take him to the International Veterinary Hospital. We arrived there at 8:30AM to a beautiful sight of around a dozen dogs with a dozen handlers all lined up outside the place doing some training. We later found out these dogs were mostly used for narcotic and bomb detection, really cool. We continued going in and asked to see the Vet, after waiting for a while outside on the green grass we were called in. Our usual vet only comes in during the afternoon so today we had another Italian vet except this time it was a woman. She did some physical tests on Geo and recommended we take some Xrays just to be safe. Good thing we did because it turned out he fractured bones. Now geo has something like a cast around his leg and he is going to have to be in it for up to 3 weeks depending on how fast he will get healed. The vet was very nice and although Geo looks like a dork now with his one green leg I am really glad he is going to be ok. I am going to hopefully get 10 days off work so I could be with him at home. I feel really guilty for what I did and even though he loves to runaround and play its not going to be possible until his leg heals. The vet told us he is lucky he is still a puppy because they heal a lot quicker. She gave us some calcium pills and told us to give him a lot of cheese to help speed up the healing process. The whole thing cost us only KD34 which is pretty decent and now Geo is sleeping in the living room while I am watching the Discovery Channel. I am sorry Geo!!

Well at least he is ok! Mistakes happen and he will grow up!

Did you ask them why they werent open at night? What if another emergency happens?

But hopefully he will heal soon and be bouncing around and everything!

yeah i did. they told me they open only for emergencys like bleeding or poisoning. broken bones are not counted as an emergency which i have to disagree with.

Thats sad bro, vets here are open 24/7, but the bill gives u the bling bling feeling when it arrives in ur mailbox.

Wish all the best for u man and ur dog.

oh and btw, 10 days of work for a dog u stepped on isnt worth it, take Nat to cyprus on ur anniversary for a week as a trade off to this 10 days for geo.

Its not just a dog. Geo is a family member and if he is hurt and needs some taking care of then he will get all the care i can give him.

Awwwww! He does look like a dork but it’s all your fault πŸ˜› Hehe

I really hope he gets well quickly!

I second that unknown!!!! lol.
Actually im glad Mark will get to stay homw with Geo and take care of him. I will feel better knowing he’s looking after him. Geo is a member of our family like Mark said.

well i requested a 10 day leave and they accepted it. but i also requested i continue to work because if i dont i will get really bored at home. i hate being away from work. i have had only 10 days off in the past 3 years..

awww poor little geo…. he looks all cute in the green cast!

how is he towards you mark? is he scared of being near you?

I hope he gets better soon…. and will be running around in no time!

and dogs are amazing, its good that you regard geo as a family member πŸ™‚ he’s just so adorable

oohhh btw i will hopefully send u the cookie stuff by the end of next week, just been mega ill and haven’t had the chance to leave my apt πŸ™

Know that feeling, my best friend has a pure rottweiler (sp?), also my other friend has a german shepherd (1.5 years old).

Dolly (the rotty) gave birth to 10 puppies, which was alot, she lost 10kg netweight because they kept on sucking her till she got skinny.

she might die because of a high fever.

we did everything there is to put her lifeline back on track and it worked.

but in ur case, geo will be smiling soon, member of the family or not, its ur responsiblity to look after him. (notice i said him and not ‘it’).
