Back in October there was a press release in the papers by a company which stated that they were opening Fatburger in Kuwait. Today there was another press release by another company stating that they are also opening Fatburger in Kuwait. So what gives?
Well this is what I found out. A local company got the Fatburger franchise rights 2 years back for Kuwait but never opened up a store. So, Fatburger decided to take the franchise rights from them and pass it to another local company. Fatburger will now be finally opening in Kuwait before June.
I am still holding my breath for Arby’s and Wendy’s.
Update: Turns out yesterday’s press release was actually placed in the newspaper by Fatburger North America themselves to clarify that there is a new Fatburger owner in Kuwait.

Filing for Chapter 11 doesn’t mean they shut down, most probably they had a lot of financial difficulties so they filed for chapter 11 so they could reorganize and get their act together.
I agree with you 100%, at the same time if u check the back-round of the president; u would know what i mean, this Co.are trying to cash out from different company’s from this region?since they have Bad luck in the U.S Market. Any way these company are selling Burger end of the day.??/
When will people stop getting excited about new burger joints opening? Now if someone would just open an indoor skiing slope or artificial wave pool. That would be cool !

Hi, this local company you are talking about, is my family’s company .
The story you stated is not true, make sure you get the facts right before stating anything on your website,
the true story is that the GM of FATBURGER has changed since a new company bought FATBURGER. And before the new company bought FATBURGER, the contract agreed in opening a certain number of stores in the first year. Now that the new administration came in, and they are financially broke, they are asking for more stores to open in one year, in which this violates the contract that was signed with the old administration.
The reason this is happening is that FATBURGER only gets a loyalty fee, and the restaurant and staff expenses are paid by the local company, however asking for more than 10 stores to open in one year is unrealistic because it will take a very long time to cover up the costs. Which means the local company will be losing and not making any money.
Now if another company wants to go and open the store with the new agreements they should go ahead, because if losing for a couple of years won’t make a difference then that is great, we will get the great burgers anyway!
Hey, I know who U R and I know yr family very well. I think there are misunderstandings on this story.FB. Still have one administion since 10 years ago, FB. Are charging franchise Fees plus loyalty fee. As far as the opening; one store a year. I agree with you all what we are talking about is a Burger. Take care S.
