Indoor RC Track in Kuwait

Does anyone know where the indoor RC track in the video above is located and is it open to the public? [YouTube]

Update: Here is some more information about the track provided by Nawaf from the Kuwait Science Club.

The track is located at the Yousef Bin Eissa School in Tha7yat Abdullah Al Salem area, the track is for members of the Kuwait Science Club, you pay 20KD and year unless you are still a student then you pay 10KD a year.

To use the indoor track you only need to be a member of the Kuwait Science Club, though this is our first year in Kuwait to have something like this so we are still testing the grounds to see the feedback. More information can be found on https://www.rccck.org about the rules and regulations of these events.

In terms of the track costs the Kuwait Science Club has undertaken the costs and not the members, yes the members have paid in advance so as to speed up the track building process but they are returned the investment by the club once completed.

Track timings can be checked on the official club website https://www.rccck.org

It looks like its inside a school gym, the room looks exactly the same as my old high school except the track of course.

Correction on Wahab’s post in regards to the track usage, you can attend the location as what wahab said.

ya u should pay kd20 for the since club for a year and kd50 for the indoor track for two months only!!
they will remove the rack after the school holiday .

Adel I do not know where you got your information from about the 50KD for 2 months only but let me put you in perspective so you get your information right before indirectly advertising the wrong information.

The only people that paid the 50KD are the people who were kind enough to help in speeding up the process of making this possible, no one was ever obligated to pay 50KD in the first place, the people that were kind enough to help chipped in advance to make all this possible given the fact that if we had waited for any longer for the paperwork administration to clear the required funds then you would be limited to maybe one month use of the track.

So please do me a favor since I am the one in charge of the dept who made all this possible and through the kind help of all the members that have spent all their free time away from their families and the number of days deciding what should be done for others to have fun, the least you can do is refrain yourself from posting the wrong information and show positive attitude and be grateful that something like this has come to reality, instead of racing out in the hot sun and parking lots.

The track is open since last week and remains open till the 15th or maybe 20th of September 2010 paying 10KD as a student or 20KD to the Kuwait science club for providing you this facility is cheaper then any other event I can think of in Kuwait.

I know a place in Shuwaikh who charges you per hour so why don’t you go there, then again even if it came free of charge for you would have something smart to comment about ???

Akbara I am out of the country at the moment bas inshallah I will have the guys do a map to the location or maybe I will work on it later today evening and get some google snap shots.

Nawaf quick question. I read the specs of the cars required and my car doesn’t fit the specs since it’s shaft driven and not belt. Does that mean I can’t even use the track for recreational use or does that only mean that I can’t enter official races?

Mark, actually initially we had it planned for the pro class, but then we noticed that there is a big demand for open class, so yes you can enter as open class, however in open class a few things to consider:

1/10 Electric car belt or shaft driven
Tyres must be foam or slick rubber and not rubber with a tread on it, as this will damage the kitty rug carpet.

If you have been bashing your car in the car park and it has alot of dirt on it, you are required to have it cleaned before entering on the track so as to avoid any dirt getting on the track.

For safety reasons if you are using Li-Po technology you are required to use a hard case battery pack incase of any accidents which could render the battery explosive and or flammable.

If you are using Ni-Mh and or Ni-Cd then no problem.

If you are using a frequency based Radio with Reciever and not spektrum based then it would be best that you check if anyone is running your frequency to avoid any interference, so as to avoid loss of control on both cars. We will be putting a frequency board soon.

Based on demand in regards to the races as long as there is good numbers in terms of the pro class and open class we will be running both classes.

We will also be providing technical workshops on setting up your car and the dynamics and physics of the car when racing etc, this will take place once I am back from my vacation to prepare the schedule.

Also keep in mind that this is our first attempt in doing such a thing, who knows in the future maybe we will have our indoor track permanently.

We already succeeded in having the largest offroad track in the world for 1/8 buggy so I do not see the indoor track being an issue in the near future.

Oh thats cool. One more question, is there AC? And how do people sign up, do I go to the track and pay KD20 there or do I pay KD20 somewhere else first and then go. Oh and are there GPS coordinates or a proper address we can plus into our navigation system?

The place is cooled down with AC all day long, you pay your registration fee at the Kuwait Science Club, just go to the aeronautical dept ask for the secretary best time to go is after 4:30pm till 9pm saturdays to thursdays.

The process is simple, you bring your passport size photo with you and 2KD and fill in the registration form and it gets signed by 2 members from the club as an acknowledgment of your new membership, your club id gets processed in 2 weeks so for the time being you pay 2KD as pre-registration fee and call back in 2weeks time to pay your 20KD or 10KD whichever is applicable to you.

When going to the track just take a copy of you pre-registration reciept, the club is open to all nationalities and non nationals.

Here is the GPS co-ordinates
29°20’59.50″N
47°58’27.89″E

akbara, regretfully renting a car is not in the things we can provide, since the club is a non profit organization that would not be possible given the limitation of the budget, but if you shop around you can find plenty of decent deals at the rc shops in kuwait and or buy a new one for a combo price…

Wow! This looks interesting!

It looks like the track is best suited for Mini-Zs… I tried to look for mini’zs here but I wasn’t able to find any shop that currently sells one… =(

Dear Nawaf,

The Track In shuwakh or the place in shuwakh as u said that they charged per hour they charge only 1KD per person with unlimited houres .

so you get your information right before indirectly advertising the wrong information. :))

and about ur track is good job but i hope that u can open this track after 20th of September

The track is just perfect, I tested my car this week but I really can’t match the RCCCK guys they are really fast.

Plus my car is Tamiya which (as usual) is difficult to find spare parts in Kuwait.

You can find the location of the school on Google maps or use your Navi and search for schools in Abdulla al Salem.

Also the track in Shuwaikh is not a racing track, it is an outdoor drift track which is crap.

For the guys complaining about the fees, I say we paid and we are having fun, whether will get it back or not.

Well done RCCCK !

Kuwaity,
Tamiya is the best brand in the electric rc cars in the world .
and it is not a big deal to find a spare parts even the rare after market special parts i`m sure that with the internet you can get them with in five days .
plus it is been around since 1978
you should know more than any one else how to order from the internet .

a true big thanks for the people that made this happen.

this track was made by and for the wanna be pros of kuwait ( shop owners)

thank you for your support to the kuwaiti youth

and they will remove the rack after the school starts .

kuwait rc movment lets not make this an issue again about posting the wrong information, Kuwait Science Club is a non profit organization, that means not free of charge, but a very minimal fee is applicable for the services they provide. If you failed to renew your membership previously thats your own problem and not for others to worry about, it goes for the same all over Kuwait, forget to renew your driving license your get fined etc.

Tamiya was charging applicable fees when they first opened up and charged accordingly, it’s a private company it has every right to do that and no one can question that.

Kuwaity if you are having problems with obtaining parts from the local dealer you can always raise a complaint email to Tamiya directly and they will contact the local dealer to provide you with professional service.

I recall someone doing that on another dealer, the very next day the local dealer was able to assist, do not let local wanna be professional dealers take advantage of that 😛

Sting your comment about ordering online just beats the fact about having a local dealer or supplier, lets talk about being a representative when they cannot do their job right in the first place, the whole idea of selling is not selling once and forget all, it’s about customer service, Toyota Al Sayer is a perfect example of this, thats why they are the leaders in the Automotive industry.

Kuwait rc Movement, your comment about “this track was made by and for the wanna be pros of kuwait (shop owners)” is uncalled for, the least you can state is the difference between the fact that RCCCK is an officially recognized RC club sanctioned by the IFMAR https://www.ifmar.org who recognized Kuwait as the first Arab country to be official members of the FEMCA block, but then again you would not know who IFMAR an FEMCA is ad would not car about it.

However knowing the number of excuses you can come up with about 1/8 buggy previously and now 1/10 electric touring that you do not cater for the professionals, am sure in the near future when RCCCK will have it’s own indoor RC drift track you will come up with another genuine excuse, about not catering for the drift industry, let me guess rock crawlers next ?

Please wake up, RCCCK does not cater for any brand or product we cater for the RC industry in whole in Kuwait, we do this for minimal fees with the help of the Kuwait Science Club, and your comment about Wanna Be Pros, just clearly ratifies how you want things to be for the rc industry.

Am sure all the club members want your seal of approval about how much they know in rc and what you really think about them, I believe this letter from IFMAR / FEMCA clearly shows what RCCCK is all about and the true spirit of Team Work https://rccck.org/attachments/Kuwait%202010%20support%20Invt.pdf

Our last participation in the Pre world championship was good enough to put a foot print as to where the Kuwaiti RC drivers stand in this hobby industry, 2 of our drivers made it to the 1/4 finals, out of 250 drivers in the event, their names were next to Factory Team Drivers and brand names, we had Kuwait next to our name and let me tell you something my dear, when Euro Champs and World Champs come and tell you as a Team Manager that so and so person is very fast on the track that is enough for me to be happy about then knowing about what you really think.

Ahmad I have a hard time keeping up with the fees being charged by the shop in Shuwaikh for the track they keep changing it all the time, so forgive my ignorance, i’d rather concentrate on something official and constructive.

Also after the 20th of september we go back to 1/8 buggy nitro and truggies.

About not having a track after the 20th of september indoors, did I miss something here or is the shuwaikh track outdoors.

If Mark does not mind am going to make a small article about RC in general and I believe this will clarify things once and for all.

All this love hate relationship business between RCCCK and some specific shop did not swell up till the indoor track subject came up, we reached out longtime back to all the shops, some boarded the train and some decided to be ignorant about it, time will tell.

Just one advise before you blabber anything more about the Kuwait Rc Industry, use an official Time Keeping system for races it helps to tell who is first and who is last.

One more thing about the pros, if you want to have fun you do not need to race, you can come anytime after being a member of the Kuwait Science Club, ue the track for fun providing that you meet the minimum track usage requirements refer back to my earlier post about what you can use and what you cannot use.

If you want to have some more serious fun join the stock class races and test your skills.

One more thing the RCCCK members are always there to help you with setting your car up and giving you free advise on what to get, nothing to do with what brand is good and not good, just good advise on what they have actually tested and use themselves on the track.

If you are after just having fun then you can always race between each other and have fun.

No one is obligated to race and you do so on your own free will.

Nice one Nawaf dont be deterred by the few, we all know that people that tend to slate others are usually jealous, Yes that’s you Kuwait rc movement, who threw you a bone, and what have you done for the Kuwait rc movement….. hasn’t reached me yet.
All you do by writing stuff like that is just offend people, this is a forum to get information out not slag each other off, especially someone with a name like Kuwait rc movement, looks like your pushing it in the wrong direction, nice job.
Keep up the good work Nawaf and the guys.

Hi Guys,

ok, just to clear things up as many people are posting wrong info.

my name is Ali Bullail, NOT a shop owner and NOT payed by the KSC, on the other hand, am a very proud KSC member and the head of on-road racing in the RCCCK that Nawaf established for those who dont know it. Am the current Kuwait Champion in 1/10 nitro sedan and 1/8 offroad buggy. i aint bragging, i just want you guys to know who am i and what i have achieved. am also a 1/4 finalist in Thailand’s last race out of many international racers and was qualified 28th with all the big PRO and Sponsered drivers. and am the guy driving the VID above.

the indoor track was my idea from start to finish and we built the track spending our own money (the 50kds) many people are talking about.

the idea was to build a track for the RCCCK members to have fun during summer and to practice for our next big race (IFMAR 1/8 buggy World Championship) as many dont know, Kuwait is the only Arab country approaved by IFMAR and its the first time an Arab country will participate in a RC WC race. who did this?? RCCCK president (Nawaf) who worked hard for 5 years to achieve it.

now let me clear things up about the indoor track.

1-the idea started when we finished the off-road season and started to feel the need for RC racing again.

2-the KSC found the GYM after many paper work with the ministry of education, and payed the 1000KDs insurance for the GYM. thanks KSC

3- we (RCCCK members) talked about building the track and i communicated the guys about paying 50 kds to get all the material and tools needed. i have receipts if someone is in doubt.

4- we all know that the track usage time is 2 monthes or untill the start of schools and we all agreed that we (RCCCK members) are paying the 50 kds for our own excitment and not to make a profit out of it nor to trash other onroad track owners.

5- if you wanna use the track or race with us, its 20 KDS (KSC membership) for the entire 2 monthes or so. if you find 20kds is alot of money, just tell me so and I WILL PAY IT FOR YOU and am dead serious about it

6- NO ONE HAS TO PAY 50 kds. the 50 kds was payed by friends to build their fun place except for one nice person ‘Ahmed’ who showed interest in our idea and was willing to participate. thanks Ahmed.

7- the KSC is a non profit orginization but if you go to take a photoshop class in the photography departemnt, you will pay money to cover the course’s expenses and the instructors time, if you wanna join the diving club, you pay money for the same resons.

ITS A NON PROFIT ORGINIZATION but not a charity club 🙂

8- now back to what Kuwait RC Movment said about the track fees, let me do the math for a second

*RCCCK indoor track = 20kds for 2 monthes

*my toy track (Tillal)= 5kds for 2/hours = what if i run 4 hours a day?? i pay 10 per day?? 20 days a month = 400 kds for 40 days??
you guys do the aftermath 🙂

9- we do proper racing with a proper system (AMB lap counting system approaved by IFMAR) if you ain’t following any rules, you aint racing 🙂

10- we have 2 classes (open and Pro) it depends on your level and car. go to RCCCK.ORG and see the rules for the PRO class. come to the track and see the guys running and you will figure out where you belong.

11- we have racers of many different levels and all are more than happy to help you guys with set-up, info or driving tips.

12- last but not least, if you dont like the KSC or the RCCCk members, why bother seeing our vid or commenting on our pages with wrong info?
RC racing is a hobby and supposed to be fun and not an inviroment for arguing or personal affairs.

for any further questions or comments, please contact me on my cell phone 67676737 (Ali) and i will answer all your questions regarding the indoor track.

thanks alot and sorry for the long somment.

Ali Bullail

one last thing,

many people outside the club think that we (RCCCK members) are bunch of rookies and really cant drive. if its your case, i advice you to bring your beloved 1/10 electric car to the track and run with us for a couple of laps 🙂 am sure you will change your idea once and forever. if you drive another class, like 1/8 buggy, truggy or 1/10 and 1/8 nitro onroad, am sure we will find you a RCCCK driver to impress you 🙂

cheers
Ali

@ STING

I’m loyal to Tamiya brand for more than 15 years and I have too many Tamiya cars and I know what Tamiya is.

Inter net orders? Most of my stuff from outside Kuwait even the glue I use!

Nawaf and Ali wrote every thing clearly, no need to say more.

@ Nawaf

I already sent to Tamiya few months ago 🙂

just 1 word to say to end this ,,,,, the rc movement was made by Rccck and the science club ( Nawaf) NOT by any other amature persons or shop owners … i dont think that any of the tracks that made by any one other than our org which is the science club ( Rccck) will be in the same worlds track standards 🙂 special thanx to the Man of the year Nawaf for his effort and time moving this hobby forward keep up the good job guys 🙂 best wish’s
