I watched the movie Super 8 tonight here in Lebanon and all I can say is that it kicked ass. If you’re a fan of 70s/80s sci-fi/adventure movies then you’re going to love this. I thought it was a combination of three great classics, ET, The Goonies and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I loved it.
There was no nudity, kissing or anything of the sort so it should be censor free in Kuwait.

Well first when i saw the trailer i thought its a kid’s movie but it seems not hehe i must go watch this movie then ;D

Close encounters of the third kind. They don’t make ’em like that anymore. That was the most brilliant movie ever made that had a significant cultural impact on us.
There were a few things censored out.
It wasn’t that good tbh. 6.5/10
our diligent cinescape did find something to censor you can always depend on them hehe

ahhhh the Goonies … my favorite movie of all time. coincidentally, i’ve seen it 2 or 3 times on HBO here in China in the past month 🙂
Exactly…. It was like watching E.T., but in a different version…. They both featured kids trying to do good, finishing their adventure on their own, and in the end Good beats Evil.
And yeah, I totally agree, it was like watching a movie from the good old days 🙂
ET + The Goonies x Cloverfeild = Super 8
I watched it last week, I think they censored “F” word in one of the scenes but it was OK, lots didn’t notice it. I don’t personally like these types of movies nor my friends were with me. Very impressed with the reviews and rating, though.
It was a brilliant movie, it was a perfect homage to science fiction movies from the 80’s, it’s obviously not for everyone.
Oh, and they cut a few scenes in Kuwait.
ET for the special effect suckers (ages 13-20)
I really enjoyed it, it was a great tribute to the 80s friends-facing-challenges-and-coming-of-age movies like Goonies, E.T. and a movie others didn’t mention: Stand By Me.
loool kuwait cuts out everything. there has to something that they will think should be cut out!!
Close encounters of the third kind was directed by Steven Spielberg and super 8 was produced by Steven Spielberg.

i Totally agree with you Ahmad, the movie Sucks as a personal opinion and during watching the movie i was expecting something else specially after the trailer…
and also during the watching the movie: we said the same thing it was just like remaking of an old classic and doing children family movies that everyone can watch like ET…
but it SUCKS BIG TIME…
