Over the weekend two local rugby teams competed in the Gulf Men’s Open that was held in Dubai, the Kuwait Lions RFC (pictured below) and the Kuwait Scorpions (pictured above). Not only did both teams perform really well but the Kuwait Scorpions went all the way and won the Gulf Men’s Open tournament!
The Kuwait Scorpions team was established in Kuwait back in the 1940s and it’s great that they’re not only still around, but they’re also kicking ass. Here is a link to the Kuwait Scorpions Facebook page and here is the link to the Kuwait Lions RFC page.

More appropriate than “Kuwait Scorpions kicked ass” would be “Kuwait Scorpions stung ass”
Just sayin’ 🙂
And that’s why I’m not a copywriter (also because I can’t spell for shit and my grammar can be horrible)
This was a great win for Kuwait Rugby as a whole and not only the Scorpions. As mentioned, Kuwait Rugby started the first rugby club in the gulf in 1940’s and the rest of the GCC countries followed creating the AGRFU/Gulf Rugby and the tournaments to go along with it.
We would like to see more results like this and bring Kuwait Rugby back to the competitive level it once use to be at. Unfortunately, at the moment that may be difficult as we are struggling to find sponsors. For us to keep the club running and rugby alive in Kuwait we need funding to help with facilities, equipment, subsidizing our players trips to away games, medical kit and so on.
We invite all to come out and give rugby a try, it’s more than just a game, it’s a way of life. It is difficult to explain unless you come out and try it.
Finally, thanks to Mark for the post.
Is contract game?
