Part 2 of Dan’s Experience with Kuwait Airways is Out

Dan just published part two of his review where he goes into details about what happened with Kuwait Airways.

I don’t watch his videos so not sure if they’re all like this but god he drags things for sooo long. This video could easily have been 5-10mins long instead of 26mins.

In short, nothing surprising for anyone living in Kuwait. Basically he was told he can’t record video onboard and publish it without permission from Kuwait Airways. Obviously that’s not true and the people involved were most likely all old school crew. He was threatened that he would be sued if he did which again is such a normal thing for us to hear, or at least I’m used to this. Eventually when he landed the cops came and spoke to him and obviously nothing came out of it because he hadn’t done anything wrong. Just normal Kuwait drama.

Anyway, that was all of it. It didn’t need a part 2 video, and definitely didn’t need to be longer than an episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

A quick question: who granted him exit visa ?

Having lived in Kuwait we are all immune to such ignoble gestures / insults. I remember the one time I had family visiting in 2008 when the security hustler in disdash’aa came barking at them for clicking a pic inside Al Fanar mall. That was just before the birth of the android phone and social media so the dude was still very much living under a rock and prejudice.

You can watch vids at higher speeds so you can be done with them faster. Also, why must companies in Kuwait act like this? If they didn’t want people leaving bad reviews, then don’t create bad experiences!

Well you guessed wrong, and the cops didn’t deescalate, they just simply couldn’t charge him with anything.

I always watch his videos! He said before he will never fly Kuwait Airways because they don’t allow Israeli travelers. What made him change his mind! I don’t know! To be honest he is always dramatic and expects more from the airlines!
I dont love Kuwait airways but they are not bad! The airline is efficient, clean, has good food, and most of the time comfortable. They have issues here and there but not as bad Jazeera or other airlines

THERE YOU HAVE IT lol

Mark unintentionally posting a zionist might be the funniest thing about this entire series.

He is Swedish American, if he was Israeli he wouldn’t have been able to fly on Kuwait Airways since Kuwait Airways doesn’t allow Israelis on their planes.

Do people not know that 1 in 10 Israelis carry European passports?

We actually had an Israeli show up at the Palestinian Culture Center Exhibition (in Kuwait) once just to yell at us.

What does this have anything to do with the post? I don’t know how you do this Mark 🤣

The video was such a drag. And nothing unknown to old timers of kuwait. That being said I travel only Kuwait Airways. Never cancels, never late and no over-the-top dramas. Just plain boring efficiency.

Out of curiosity have you ever been to the US? Have you ever tried traveling on one of the American commercial airlines?

Kuwait Airways might not be the greatest Gulf airlines but it’s not the worst and certainly infinitely better than every American airline company and most European airlines. So the harshness of the review and this post are probably unnecessary and suspicious.

People need to stop comparing to shitier things and say at least we aren’t as bad as them. Thats not how you move forward and get better, you don’t look behind you, you look ahead. Why don’t you compare with much better airlines and say why can’t we better than them? Who cares if Frontier Airlines is worse than Kuwait Airways or that we’re better than Jet Blue and EasyJet?

Also you think my post is harsh? If anything I’m being harsh on Dan not Kuwait Airways (whom if you’ve read any of my posts you’d know I’m a fan of). Get your shit together.

Hey dumb dumb there is a huge difference between a privately owned airline in the US vs another owned, funded & controlled by the governments oil money. Try comparing apples to apples next time. Your point fell way short.

Like it or not, the word on the street across geographies is that Kuwait Airways discriminates against non Kuwaitis period. Cabin crew appears cold and hostile on flights to the Indian subcontinent and many ( if NOT most) have open contempt for the underrepresented blue collared migrant workers aka ‘Silence of the Lambs’ who have scant if any social media presence or influence in life. KU has a major public image problem to handle abroad, and is simply in no league with Emirates and Qatar with the kind of staff it has on its rolls. Abrupt nationalisation can sometimes lead to less than celebratory outcomes, as we are finding out the hard way.

He was stoped during boarding from filming the the staff and aircraft .. after take off he showed his colors .. he had plan that to give Kuwiat airways and Kuwiat bad name … he might be working for another airline. he has to make written request to public relation at Kuwiat airways .. He is ban in several airlines … don’t listen to his story … THE PURSER AND CAPTAIN SHOULD BE AWARDED … These YouTubers want protocol … who the F they are .. in Gulf Singapore China you have to follow law … its not Europe or USA where crime is high

The purser on KU flights is something of a minder, a classroom monitor to tiger mom the stewardesses on flights and is almost always a local. He is the guy from the management to tell on his colleagues and watches who is playing truant and who is slackening off. In the process he royally dumps his duties and job responsibilities under the pretext of delegation and playing the supervisor game. Infuse younger agile multi-cultural, multi-lingual cosmopolitan blood and suddenly, you have the makings of a new, far less insular forward looking world airline ready and happy to serve passengers regardless of nationality, race or income levels.
It would be useful to also get ex cabin crew from KU to comment here and share their perspective.
