K’S PATH will be holding their fundraiser Quiz Night at the end of the month at the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK). It should be a fun evening with exciting quiz rounds, dinner, and great prizes. Teams can have up to 6 members at an entry fee of KD 10 per team member. It’s a great way to support a worthy cause and all proceeds will go towards K’S PATH’s shelter and programs.

The first international airsoft event in the Middle East is going to take place in kuwait on the island of Failaka this November. It’s a huge three day military simulation event that should turn out to be epic!
Location: Failaka Island Date: November 8 to November 10, 2012 Price: KD35 (includes registration, accommodation and food) Accommodation: Ikarus Hotel / The Village on Failaka. Registration price includes shared accommodation for 2 nights. Private rooms available at an additional charge. Transportation: Speed Boat from Marina Crescent leaves Thursday November 8 in the afternoon and comes back Saturday November 10 at noon.
Registration needs to be paid by September 7, 2012.

This is not paintball. This is SPAAARTAAAA! No seriously it’s really different from paintball. The weapons are very realistic and look like real ones and unlike paintball you don’t fire off a million shots and hope they hit. Kuwaits first MMA and K1 event will be taking place next month at Kuwait International Fairground in Mishref. The event will be organized by the kuwait kickboxing committee and tickets are currently on sale.
There will also be a superfight between Ray Elbe and Ahmed Aly. Ray was an Ultimate Fighter contestant and has a Jiujitsu black belt. He will be representing Combat Athletics, a new MMA focused gym that will be opening in Kuwait soon. On the other hand Ahmed fought in Cage Warriors and won a bronze medal in the World Combat Championship. Here are the details for the event:

Saturday was the International Cosplay Day and Q8 Cosplayers participated by going to Rehab Complex in Hawalli dressed up.
Cosplay, short for “costume play”, is a type of performance art in which participants don costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea.
Rehab Complex if you aren’t aware is the videogame central of Kuwait. Turnout wasn’t that great with only six Cosplayers showing up compared to the large turnout at the P2BK event early in the year. The Future Shorts Festival is the biggest pop up film festival of its kind, showcasing the most exciting short films from around the world. As part of their world tour they’ll be making a stop in Kuwait next week at the Contemporary Art Platform.

Early bird registration just opened for this years Flying Start Triathlon. They’ve got two levels of competition, The Sprint and The Olympic. If there wasn’t any swimming involved I might have been able to compete in The Sprint level but I can barely swim a lap around the pool before collapsing from exhaustion.

We would also like to take this opportunity to announce our Second KUBBAR Island cleaning campaign that is scheduled for coming Saturday 26th of May 2012 to clean up the remaining debris and other litter.
During this event you can test drive our New 2012 model ARGO HDi Special Edition amphibious ATV (www.argoatv.com).
All are welcome to volunteer for this event (up to 10 persons, first come basis), and those people who would like to join us with their boats can team up with us at the Island.
All arrangements for food and beverages will be made by us only thing which volunteers are requested to bring is their backpacks.
All this will depend upon the weather condition so please check our facebook page (fb/ajarco) for timely updates.
If weather permits we will be leaving the docking harbor at Fintas behind coast guard building around 11 am and all are requested to reach there before 11.

This Friday (May 4th) a photographic walk will be taking place from the Scientific Center to the Kuwait Towers in which over 50 amateur and professional photographers are expected to participate. Photography lovers from all skill levels are invited to take part in this walk which will also include classes and demonstrations by experts.
The walk starts off at 5AM which is early but necessary to capture the sunrise and the magic hour. The group will be making a bunch of stops along the way to take photos including a 7AM stop at the Hard Rock Cafe to photograph a motorcycle club and a stop at around 11AM at the Green Island to photograph some models.

SOLEdxb, the largest sneaker event in the Middle East is taking place after tomorrow in Dubai. If you’re attending the event pass by the Nike space since they contacted different sneaker collectors in the region and I have around 8 photos of my collection that will be on display at their exhibit (including the one above).

The Kuwait International Motocross Challenge 2012 is taking place this weekend. It’s an international event organized by the Kuwait Quarter Mile Auto & Motorcycle Club. Riders from Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, USA, South Africa, France and Belgium will be taking part in the event. Photography enthusiasts will be allowed around the track and there are also some activities for the crowd. GoPro will be giving away 5 GoPro cameras to the attendees via a raffle draw while Dunkin Donuts will be offering donuts and hot coffee as well. For more information on the event click [Here]
