I passed by Casio to get my new cheap retro watch and although they had literally over a hundred models, only a handful had the retro look. I ended up going with the Casio DBC-32 which is packed with features including a calculator, data storage for up to 25 names with numbers and my favorite feature, Auto Light. Basically every time I lift up my watch to see what time it is the watch lights up. I wanted to go with the simpler cheaper watches which I posted about previously but they looked really small on my wrist. My two current watches are pretty big so I needed a Casio that was as big and the calculator version was just perfect. The watch did exceed my KD5 budget since it cost KD6.100. In a weeks time I will post a review about the watch although I can already foresee some issues including the fact that the watch isn’t waterproof, its water resistant which sucks. You would think by now they would have figured out how to waterproof watches. [Link]

I was just checking Cool Hunting and noticed they were recommending a retro looking digital watch as a Christmas gift. This got me in the mood for one of those watches so tomorrow I am going to pass by Casio and check and see what watches they have under KD3. Only problem is I am trying to figure out if I should go with rubber or metal band, I am assuming the metal band might cost more then KD3, maybe KD4 or something…

I just found out about Blouzaat from Moeys blog and they have some really cool t-shirts there. They all look really funky and are all beautifully designed. You can tell they’ve put a lot of effort and thought into the designs and the result is just some really trendy looking shirts. The designers (I think they are a group) are based in Jordan and their store link says coming soon but hopefully it won’t be that long before we can start placing orders. I hate the sneakers that are available at Foot Locker and Athletes Foot here in Kuwait. In the past few years I don’t think I’ve even purchased any sneakers from here, I always ordered them from Amazon and other retailers online. Other than the fact that they don’t carry certain brands here, most of the retailers play it pretty safe and just get your average looking regular dull models. In the UK for example Foot Locker isn’t even counted as a trendy store for sneakers, Size?, Offspring and Foot Patrol for example all have better taste and carry funkier collections. Athletes Foot barely even exists outside of Kuwait!

One of my favorite TV shows is Entourage and one of the characters on the show is called Turtle who is a sneaker collector. That gave me the idea to also start my own sneaker collection. Its still really small but I only just started so it should grow a lot more in the coming year. You can check out some of my sneakers below.

I want these sneakers!! I saw them online for the first time yesterday and today I got some more info on them. Basically they will be sold exclusively at Offspring in the UK and thats it, no other place anywhere. Now the bigger problem is Offspring don’t have an online store just a stupid myspace page. The sneakers aren’t out yet but once they are I am sure I will figure out a way to get them. [Link]

One store I fell in love with here in London is called Size?. Size? is a sneaker store but they seem to have the coolest/funkiest collection of sneakers I have seen all in one place. Majority of the sneakers I saw today I had previously only seen on SneakerFreaker.com and DrJays.com. Now I am trying to figure out which sneaker to get, I only want to get two but I have around 10 I like. Some of the sneakers I found and liked are displayed above and below this post.

I just got an email telling me that in a few days time the first ever PUMA store is going to open up in Kuwait and also for the first time, a Nike concept store. The email didn’t mention where in Kuwait they’re opening but I am assuming The Avenues. Here are two exclusive pictures of both stores.

update: They will either be opening today or tomorrow and it’s confirmed, they are opening at The Avenues.

update 2: OK, another update, turns out they already opened up today morning. Both stores plus an Adidas store are all inside the new concept Athlete’s Foot store next to Va Va Voom. Doesn’t sound as exciting as having individual stores but will pass by for lunch and check it out.

update 3: Hopefully the final update. The stores are SIS (stores in stores). They carry the same exclusive stuff as the individual Puma and Nike stores. Problem with Puma and Nike is that if they open a flagship store they have to be the actual owners which is not possible in Kuwait. So in Kuwait this is the closest we are going to get to having individual stores. Adidas on the other hand are ok with selling you the franchise hence the Adidas store at Marina Mall.

I was passing by Mac&More in Marina Mall when I spotted what looked like a cool jacket in the display. Turns out it was the iJacket by Zegna. The jacket has iPod integration meaning you can plug in your iPod into the jacket and then control it via invisible buttons on the sleeve. Its priced at around KD240.

I knew Oakley made boots for the military but I didn’t know that Adidas did so too. These boots seem cool but they don’t have my size! [Link]

They are selling the limited edition Bugatti Perfume at The Avenues for a price of only KD975. The picture above is of the gold plated, 400 piece limited edition version but the one at The Avenues is the chrome plated edition with 4,000 pieces world wide. So one more time in case you think I mistyped, its KD975 for a bottle of perfume thats Nine, Seven and Five!

I thought they were pretty funny so I emailed the owner for some pictures of the shirts since I was curious to how they looked like. The owner emailed me back with the pictures so I thought I would share them with everyone.

Here are a couple of cool watches that I like and their prices in Kuwait:

Part of the Bvlgari Ergon line, it comes in two models, with and without the chronograph… but I prefer it with. The case is made of steel, the bracelet is a steel and rubber combo while the dial is made from black carbon fiber. Only the non-chrono version is on display in Kuwait but you can order the chrono version and its priced at around KD1,500.

The Panerai Luminor Chrono Daylight is definitely my favorite Panerai watch ever made. Sadly though its no longer available in Kuwait and according to the dealer you can’t even order it. Its a big watch made from steel and the diameter of the dial is 44mm. The price when available was around KD3,300.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore. The most expensive of the three coming in at KD7,000 for the steel version and KD7,500 for the titanium model. This is the ultimate watch to get. Its both classy and sporty at the same time and its distinctive octagon face makes the watch recognizable from a mile away. The dealer does offer a 25% discount which brings the price down to a mid sized car.
