According to a reader Go Sport at Avenues are now selling MMA gear. They’re currently carrying two brands which are Venum and Bad boy. Personally, I’m still holding out for a store that carries TapOut and Affliction gear.
Thanks Omar
I can’t believe how time flew by so quickly this year. I still haven’t finished editing the pictures from last years Gulf Run and now GR7 is coming up next month. Tonight they had a small get together to introduce what’s new and different in this years Gulf Run. I’m not going to be able to join the guys in Bahrain this year but, I’ll still be covering all the events leading up to Bahrain and maybe even find a way to to cover Bahrain as well. For more information on what is Gulf Run you can visit their website [Here]

My favorite gym gloves are Harbinger and I’ve been using them for nearly two years now. I had a hard time finding them back then since there were limited places that sold them and not only did I have trouble finding the right model I also had a hard time finding the right size. Over the weekend I noticed Go Sport started carrying the Harbinger brand as well and they had a huge collection of gloves on display as well as support belts. So if you’re interested in new work out gloves you should pass by before they also run out of models and sizes.
Al Sawaber
Nicely shot film by Timothy Carr on Al Sawaber, the PK Jaguars and Parkour. This is the description attached with the video:
Al Sawaber is a Kuwaiti housing project built in 1976. This once beautiful complex is now a run down slum known for housing the worst of Kuwait’s criminal element. It is also an amazing parkour spot filled with unique architecture mixing harsh concrete edges and organic landscaping quite nicely. With its rooftops, elevated walkways, massive stairways, parks and unique architectural touches the PK Jaguars, Kuwait’s first and best Parkour team have made it their favorite spot to train. This is a film about Al Sawaber, the PK Jaguars and Parkour.
The film is nearly 10 minutes long which makes it a bit repetitive and I’m also not sure how accurate the description is about Al Sawaber housing criminals is. Still, it’s an interesting video to watch. [Vimeo]

Arsenal Soccer School – Kuwait
I’m not a fan of football but my brother is and he thinks it’s pretty cool that an Arsenal Soccer School has opened up in Kuwait. They’ve got a website up and running with information on the courses plus a registration form to fill if you’re interested in joining. I’m guessing the school is only for children but I couldn’t find any details on their website regarding the age limit. Anyway here is the link so you can check it out for yourself [Link]
Adidas Store opening soon
A proper Adidas and Adidas Originals store will be opening up at Hamra Tower. Right now there’s a tiny one at Marina Mall but supposedly the new one will be much larger and most importantly we’re getting Adidas Originals which I personally favor over the regular Adidas. Not sure when they’re opening exactly but Hamra Tower is schedule to open in December so maybe then.
Ninnar is a young Kuwaiti who’s in Spain right now to take part in the Valencia Triatlón. I found out about her from iLSuL6ana and what I found interesting is the fact it’s her first triathlon and that she documented her training for this day. She started her blog back in June in which she started posting about her training, the food she’s eating and other random tidbits in preparation for her first triathlon. I found it interesting to read so check it out [Here]
The Kuwait Little League Baseball and Softball is an organization that has been working with the children of Kuwait since the early 1980s. They function strictly with the efforts of volunteers and are a non-profit organization with all the income going towards the maintenance of the field and the equipment needed for the players.
They recently moved to baseball fields inside the Hunting and Equestrian club andast year they had about 400 players (boys and girls) who were divided into 25 teams. During the 2010/2011 season, the Kuwait Little League established the first Challenger Division in the Middle East and Africa. The Challenger Division is for children with physical and developmental challenges. They had two teams in this division and as a result were featured on the Little League International website [Here]

If you’re looking for a bike you might want to pass by the Salmiya branch of Extreme Sports since they currently have 25% off on their 2011 model year bikes (while stocks last). My brother purchased an entry level Trek (2011 3700 model) yesterday for just KD123. Their Tilal branch also has discounts but I think they have 10% off instead of 25. The Salmiya branch had one more bike for KD123 and then the next cheapest was I think around KD140. If you’re interested you can call up the Salmiya branch for directions on 25755898
