WTF Arab Times

I just found out from a reader that some of my articles are being republished in the Arab Times. The thing is nobody from Arab Times contacted me about this so I’m not sure if this is the first time they’ve done it or something they’ve been doing regularly. Some of the articles have even been edited even obviously without my permission.

I’m having a hard time deciding if this is funny or just sad…

Thanks Adam

They did the same thing to me, I wrote about the zoo, after I posted about what they did they apologized but the fact is they are stealing stories to fill their papers without giving credit.

Sue them. This is pretty pathetic tbh. A supposedly respected major English language newspaper stealing from a guy who creates better content with his free time than they can with their full time staff. Hope you win a ton of money man.

Definitely not cool … however, since it is public content and they credited you, I don’t know if there is anything you can do legally. Speak to them and see what you cam do.

I see a lawsuit in the making and a guaranteed win for mark.

Thanks to kuwait corporates and cost cutting schemes. They are definitely going to end up with incompetent fools in their workforce, who don’t have the ability to critically think and realize that every action has an opposite reaction.

Anyways mark, congrats in advance

Ok dont sue them 😛

but atleast make sure they give you a column on the paper. since they are anyways copying pasting. they might as well introduce a 248am section on the newspaper.

The whole of the Arab Times and Kuwait times are copy and pasted daily from different news sites, blogs etc since the beginning of time nothing new there.

So this wasn’t a planted PR move? I thought it was a convenient marriage to bring online content to masses who are unaware!

Be flattered, they used your content and credited you….I don’t think there’s any reason to even have given it the publicity you have….a quiet word to the editor should have been suffice

Flattered? Arab Times makes money selling papers and ads so it’s not ok to use my content to fill their paper up, not unless I’m getting some of that money. You also can’t take people’s work and edit it without permission. So maybe you would be flattered if they stole your content but doesn’t mean I would be ok with it.

Although it’s plagiarism, it’s also a compliment. You will have more followers on your blog. Dude you are famous 😂. You could give them a buzz and tell them that you are 248am.

it’s cute u think by having a website address in a physical newspaper Arab times will be giving me publicity. This is more beneficial to them than me, I don’t need them but they seem to need my articles.

LMAO that’s the funniest one. I can somewhat understand the “news” element in the other posts, but what the hell does one guy’s personal car build write up have ANYTHING to do with public news? I have some two decades worth of car forum posts if that’s what they consider good source material lol

according to alexa, they have better traffic than your website, you should be happy not them. im sure they bring some traffic to your blog. also since source is mentioned there is nothing to be pissed about.

Alexa is rubbish firstly and even if their website does have more traffic who cares? it’s not for you or anyone else to decide if my content can be used or not. It’s my content I own the rights to it and I decide who gets to use it. They didn’t ask for my permission and they don’t have my permission it’s simple as that.

The folks at Arab Times are class A dic#s. When I had approached them with a proposal to contribute regular business articles, about 5 years ago, they blew me off saying they had too much content being sent to them.

And here they are, stealing content from a blog that probably gets more quality readership than the supposedly top Kuwaiti English newspaper! Damn shame!
