Where to find KDD products

After my post on KDD and the Co-ops yesterday I got an email from KDD today with a map of all the locations that sell KDD products including all the baqalas. It’s actually pretty cool because I now have all the numbers and names of the baqalas in my neighborhood. Check out their interactive map [Here]

What the co-op did was really a good smart move… because they raised their prices and what not, shouldn’t we stick to what the co-ops are doing because its good for us ?

Money inflation, everything now costs more while the actual value of the money is lower. They had to adjust their prices up a little or they would be forced to make profit at the expense of produt quality (eg. cheaper lower grade ingredients), which is a dirty route that no one likes.

then why are they selling the same product that they produce here in Kuwait cheaper in other gulf states as well as Jordan? Inflation is not a factor there? Mind you, they are produced here and they are practically paying nothing for the land they are using. 😉

I’ve been using KDD home delivery service for years now. Anything from milk, juice, to tomato paste, even ice cream. The service is both courteous and professional, and the price is fine with me. I even get freebies if my total bill reaches a certain amount. Besides, KDD is a Kuwaiti institution that deserves local support.

Don’t know about you, but in the Dukkan store, they have a promotion of 4 packets of 1 liter for just 990 fils. That works out to 248 fils per liter.
Most other milk brands sells for 350 fils per liter.

How come KDD products are sold cheaper in UAE and KSA ? and its made in kuwait ? thats the main reason of the boycott 25% more expensive than our neighboring countries

KDD products are sold cheap in those countries, because brands from those countries come and sell in Kuwait cheaper !!

Dude, Maraii sells more in Kuwait than all other gulf contrries, 5 riyals, 500 bahraini fils do not equal 500 kuwaiti fils….

That’s for promotions and i’m not even saying per piece price, I wish we boycott like Saudi does, people over there donot accept big cooperation to control them

I don’t care if KDD sell their product cheaper in Saudi Arabia or in Antarctica. I guess that is part of their marketing strategy. What I care is whether the price I am paying gives me value for money. With that criterion in mind, I am quite fine at the moment. I love KDD. When some other company sells its product with better/ same quality and less price than that offered by KDD, I will change over. Until that happens, KDD will continue to my preferred choice.

As long as there are competitors, then there shouldnt be a problem i think. Its a free market. customers should be smarter though by comparing quality and price.

KDD should produce more updated products like “LactoFree” milk

I don’t understand all the KDD hate. Prices in different markets are based on many factors. If people were to boycott all the overpriced food in Kuwait then we’d have to survive on Sunkist and Felafel sandwiches.

50 Fils for sunkist for as long as I remember, still tastes the same, Falafel too It’ll even support the falafel market more than it’s already is and we’d see more falafel places open up.

2 falafel 1 sunkest = rob3 dinar, ya balash w ba6nek matfoo5

I totally support your decision

I stopped purchasing anything from KDD .. Come on ..
Everybody has the option to choose from so many great brands, KDD are taking us for granted, they never never raised their prices to any of the GCC countries, bear in mind, The cost needed to ship to GCC .. Still prices of KDD in GCC are cheaper than Kuwait

Mark .. From my opinion, you should not agree on this and encourage KDD to even think on raising prices on the consumer !!

KDD hasn’t raised it’s prices in more than 5 years, don’t believe everything you here or read on twitter, the price was never the issue 🙂

Sucks to walk into a Co-Op and few grocery stores for the past couple of months for milk, yoghurt and juice only to find ALMARAI (of Saudi Arabia) and not KDD (of Kuwait).

Going by above comments – Not sure if Almarai sells stuff for cheaper here than Saudi Arabia?

KDD for me is my no.1 choice.

Instead of supporting national produce local supermarkets are boycotting them? What a shame on our co-ops!

KDD may be selling their products for less outside Kuwait but maybe that’s because KDD has competition outside Kuwait so it needs to be cheaper to attract more costumers. While here we have grown up using KDD and it is a respectable established brand (one of the finest of Kuwaiti brands) hence KDD simply has no, or very little competition in the Kuwaiti market.

I’ve now decided to stop shopping at the co-ops and switched to privately owned Kuwaiti supermarkets. I’d rather pay more for local produce than spend my money on imported produce.

Why cant we boycott Cheese cake factory, Shake Shack or H&M or brands which sell cheap in other countries but costly in Kuwait ? Why not stop using mobile service since they are olygopoly and have local rates higher than what they provide in other countries.
Why are you all behind KDD.
And just showing your anger in social media about particular thing will not help you.

Because shipping isn’t free?

And the oligopoly is government mandated, prices are set by the ministry which was a bad move anyway.

iPhone 5 is still sold at 220+ and people are buying. Its not manufacturers but consumers fault to encourage such bad practise.
