Last April I managed to sneak in and get some photos of the Boulevard while it was still under construction but on Thursday I was given an official tour of the project along with some new information.
A couple of months back I posted that Boulevard in Salmiya was going to be opening up in 3 months time but that is no longer the case. Originally the plan was to open the park on National Day and the rest of the project (the mall and outdoor restaurants) would open by the end of the year. Now though the plan is to have the whole project open up at the same time around Q3 or Q4 of 2016.
While touring the mall I managed to find a list of all the stores that are currently due to open at Boulevard and I’ve listed them all down below. Some interesting ones to note are Sears, Sultan Center and Jarir Bookstore. Oh and the old school Iranian restaurant Baba Taher is planning to open there as well.

Place looks as good as ready. Every time I pass by the place in the evenings, all the floodlights are on and it’s bright as hell.

The park area is all ready and all the structures are ready. Whats happening now is the stores are starting to set up. They’re expecting all the tenants to be ready by Q3.

They are facing issues regarding the electricity from the ministry and the issue still remains afaik. They only have power using generators and that isn’t enough to power the equipment used for decorating stores.

Traffic is going to be a nightmare, even if they have big parking, the road access is already super chocked by the roundabout and city center.

yes . yes it does sell electronics and sometimes there are better deals for selected items compared to other stores

So this is basically like cafes in the ground floor with food court and Sultan center on the first floor. Some retail shops here and there. I thought this mall was going to be the next big thing but from a retail point of view, won’t work all that well.
Did anyone said that they want this to be reserved only for localites, yet ?

Ive been today in salmiya Boulevard park.OMG what I saw.people walking on the grass lanes. No respect at all.no regulations regarding picnics.anyone could sit on the grass.anyone could pick a flower. What a shame.
