Shop&Ship Before and After Prices

Last week Shop&Ship announced they would be increasing their prices but didn’t mention by how much. If like me you were curious to know how much more you would be paying, the new prices are now out and so I decided to do a before and after comparison. Below are three screenshots comparing the cost of shipping three different weights, 0.1kg, 0.5kg and 1kg.

Note, these are Flex membership prices since with the regular membership you can’t pay by 100g increments. The new prices are an increase of about 12%.

they are scammers though, i was charged twice for the same shipment more than once..

i am also happier paying more for other couriers

I highly doubt that Shop&Ship are interested in trying to “scam” you out of an extra 2KD. Most likely you ran into an issue with their online payment system which is buggy leading you to believe they’re trying to scam you.

I have a package for example that requires a 1.5KD payment but every time I try to pay it, when I get to the payment page it shows me a 0KD total and I can’t pay it.

it wasn’t 2 KD, it was over 18+ KD and multiple times, and not even a payment system issue. It was shipments that were weighed and charged more than once.

And the CS is non responsive, when i tried to call or email, i got no response, the just open tickets and email saying tat they will look into the matter.

it might not be a “scam” but its extremely unprofessional and double charging can be claimed as theft.

I also got charged twice, first when the package reached my german address and since I never had a problem before I usually paid immediately. Then the same package got sent to my Czech address (!) where it got charged again. That one I did not pay but the delivery guy would not hand me the package unless I pay the invoice for Czech address. As I know it wasn’t his fault eventually I paid to get the package and contacted their support. A year later they are still making a donkey out of me and I still haven’t been refunded. 🙂 Lesson learned, now I pay only upon delivery.

Even MyUS has it issues from time to time. Regardless, things might change for the better/worse since Aramex, owners of Shop&Ship, bought them. So you’re basically paying for the same company.

I wish Amazon and other similar websites would have been allowed to deliver directly to the customer in Kuwait. It would have been so much cheaper for all of us.

I think what Rickstove was trying to say was that they wished Amazon delivered directly to the customer’s home. Amazon UAE has this service.

I know they do, they stopped sending stuff to the post office years ago, now they use couriers like Aramex to deliver the items straight to you

I didn’t understand ur reply Mark. I have tried to choose a Kuwait address several times when ordering on Amazon but I get a message saying that Amazon does not deliver to this address.

Now you’re confusing me lol. Amazon ships straight to kuwait and straight to your door (not post office). If an item shows as does not ship to kuwait then the seller either doesn’t ship to kuwait or item doesn’t ship to kuwait.

This is news to me. Does Amazon have its own staff to do deliveries in Kuwait as they do in some countries like the US or Europe?

Amazon uses third party couriers for the majority of their deliveries in the US (USPS, UPS etc). They do the same in Europe as well. To Kuwait they use Aramex mostly.

And that’s already the case. It’s not always cheaper though, especially for small items. Many people who use these services compare the total price for direct shipping from retailers, like amazon, to Kuwait with the total of using a forwarding company. I’ve used Amazon direct shipping for the most part last year because it was either cheaper, or around 1KD more than if I had used a forwarding company. I’ve only used Shop&Ship for small items like phone accessories , small kitchen utensils, light weight clothes etc.
