Arabia’s first super car the Lykan is going to be on display at the Historical, Vintage & Classic Cars Museum of Kuwait. The car will be on display for only 7 days starting from April 9th to April 16th. It’s a super rare car so this might be the only chance you’ll ever have at seeing one. I had no idea who Dru Hill were until a few moments ago (thank you Wikipedia). Drul Hill are an R&B group and they’re going to be performing in Kuwait this summer. The event is a dinner at The Crowne Plaza Hotel that starts at 7PM and ends at 1AM with Dru Hill starting performance at 8PM.

Sorry for the late notice but I just found out about this. Tomorrow (Friday March 29) at 3PM Extreme Sports is going to be holding a BMX and skateboard competition at Marina Skatepark. If you don’t know where that is, it’s just outside of Marina Waves at the edge of the beach and park. You can still register if you want to compete as well.

There are two really great films I want to see this month at Cinemagic, the first is Samsara and the second is Gomorrah. I’ve been wanting to watch these two movies for sometime now but never got the time. Grave of Fireflies was supposed to show last month but the BluRay got delayed in customs and the movie Once was shown instead which I watched and thought was pretty good considering it was a musical (I hate musicals). K’S PATH is holding their first fundraising event of the year in a fantastic setting inspired by Alice in Wonderland. The American International School has an exhibition taking place today at the AIS Art Gallery where they will be exhibiting over 150 works including drawings, paintings, sculptures and installations. If you’re interested here are the details:

Isma3ni is an monthly open mic night features all types of artists from comedians and musicians to storytellers and poets. Every open mic night has 15 performers and everyone gets a 5 minute time slot. I haven’t been to any yet (they’re held inside an argeela place) but my friend went to the last two and said it was pretty entertaining. The next Isma3ni event is going to be this coming Friday. There is a carnival thats going to be taking place this weekend at Wahran Park in Shamiya. Other than carnival games there will also be food stalls, a talent show, a videogame competition and booths where people will be selling stuff. Here are some more details:

This weekend there’s going to be a kids challenge fair taking place at Marina Mall in an attempt to break official Guinness World Records “In-A-Minute”. My guess is there will be various stalls with different activities which anyone can take part in trying to break a record in under a minute. The more interesting aspect for me is the fact the shortest woman in the world (pictured above) and the man with the largest feet will be at Marina Mall to take photos with.

Update: I passed by Marina Mall and turns out the shortest woman was only there for the first day and won’t be showing up anymore. Sucks.

This Friday Chris ‘Douggs’ McDougall will be BASE jumping off the top of Al Hamra Tower. The event is free to watch but I’ve got two VIP passes to give away (to 1 person) courtesy of Kromozone. These tickets can’t be purchased and they give you access to the enclosed VIP area outside near the fountain and will have seating, bean bags, food and drinks. It will also have it’s own private entrance from the mall so you won’t have to deal with the crowds.

There’s currently a vintage car exhibition taking place at Al Hamra Tower with around 14 classic cars on display. The cars are from Omar Alghanim’s private collection of vintage first-grade restored vehicles from the 1940s to the 70s. The cars are all located in the basement and they will be on display until March the 16th.

The British Council is launching a new radio show on 99.7 starting next week called The Selector Radio Show. The show will be presented by the famous British radio presenter Goldierocks and feature the best contemporary British music. It will air every Wednesday from 4 to 5PM. On the occasion of the launch of the show, a musical event will be held this coming Friday at Marina Crescent featuring live music by local bands. Below is the event details:

This collaboration between the British Council and 99.7 is pretty cool but just one hour once a week isn’t enough. 99.7 should consider more of this collaborative work preferably finding something to replace the current morning show with or just BRING BACK LATINA MINA!

The P2BK event for 2013 will start tomorrow and last for the next two weeks. This year the set up is a lot more interesting with an outdoor old souk that was built specifically to host this event. There will be a ton of Kuwaiti businesses participating including already established ones as well as new ones and since the weather is fantastic right now it should be pretty enjoyable checking all the various stalls out.

The event is taking place at the Mishref Fair Ground and will be open from 10AM to 10PM. You can visit the P2BK website for some more information but most of their sections don’t seem to be working right now. [Website]
