I finally went to the charity photography exhibition yesterday at Beit Lothan and I was really impressed. The pictures on display were really fascinating. For some reason I was expecting to see photos of Cambodia as if taken by a tourist but practically all the photos on display were works of art. I am glad I went.

Like many of you I have been visiting IKEA in Shuwaikh since I was a kid. Sadly at the same time this post gets published (5PM) IKEA in Shuwaikh will have closed down for good. Tomorrow IKEA will reopen but at a new location in The Avenues mall. I was lucky enough to pass by IKEA for lunch today and see the original IKEA for one last time before they closed their doors. It was really strange walking around and not see any furniture on display. I took some pictures with my phone so check them out. [Pictures]

Four girls went on a trip to Cambodia last February and got really touched by the poverty and injustice they saw over there. When they got back they decided they were going to do something about it. The girls decided they would hold a fund raising photography exhibition which would include all of their shots that they took while they were there.
The exhibition is taking place at “Beit Lothan” which is located adjacent to Marina Mall and begins on the 6th of November and ends on the 8th starting at 6PM.
Their pictures will be on sale for KD30 each. All the money they make will be donated to the Schools for Children of Cambodia (SCC) charity.

I own this camera, I purchased it I think around 2 months ago for like $170 and its now selling for $132. Its really a great camera and I lug it around everywhere I go. My Nikon D70 is too big and doesn’t fit in my laptop bag while the Canon A530 is very compact and can even record videos at a resolution of 640×480. If you are looking for a good portable cam and a really good deal then this is a good camera to get. Check it out on Amazon. [Link]

Jazeera Airways put up pictures taken at the aiport yesterday because of their “Fly to Beirut for FREE” campaign. Chairman and CEO Marwan Boodai was actually at the airport himself handing out the free tickets. [Pictures]
Note: They now started a 75% off campaign.

Yesterday night on my way to the airport I saw an accident on the 5th ring road just before exit 50. The accident was still fresh since the medics were still at the scene. Turns out a bus carrying works some how rammed into the back of a truck so it was pretty messed scene with a lot of injuries. Here are two pictures I managed to take as I was passing by.
update: Here is a good video shot at the scene by Zaina [Video]

While looking for an image of Kuwait Airways for the post below I found this cool site that has pictures of sugar packets from a whole bunch of airlines around the world. [Link]
Here is also a link to a gallery I found before with pictures of spoons from various airlines around the world. [Link]
Some guys on vacation in Hawaii break in to the set of Lost. [Link]
Pictures of some really beautiful libraries. [Link]
Pictures of a badly burnt Lamborghini with the driver and passenger still inside. The two people couldn’t get out of the car because they couldn’t get the doors open since the car was upside down and the doors open upwards. The pictures are really graphic so you are warned. [Link]
