I passed by Al Ghanim Electronics tonight to check out their HDTVs. They had a whole bunch of plasmas on display but none grabbed my interest, I was there looking for regular (tube/crt) high definition television. Turns out they only had 1 which supported the 720p resolution and it was the 36″ Sony which a regular reader (hola) pointed out to me was on sale for KD590 because it was the last piece. Sadly its widescreen which won’t fit in my display and also I was looking for a regular 4:3 ration TV not the 16:9. They had 2 other Philips TVs which supported HD and were pretty cheap BUT neither of them supported the high resolution 720p, just the low res 420p and 1080i. The 34inch was for like KD300 while the 29″ for like KD200.

So if anyone is interested in the Sony 36″ HDTV, its selling for an amazing low price (actual price is around KD800) and they only have 1 display model left.

I was informed earlier that you can find the iPod Video in Kuwait. zMacShop is selling the 60GB White iPod Video for KD150 while Mac & More is selling it for KD195. The 30GB White iPod Video is being sold at zMacShop for KD130 while Mac & More is selling it for KD175. zMacShop have already sold out all the black iPod videos.

There is a bakala I visit frequently since its located under my office. His pricing is weird though and I don’t know what to do about it. I usually take a large bottle of water and a bar of Twix. The problem is he sometimes charges me 300fils for the 2 items which is the regular price, but sometimes he also charges me 250fils which is a discounted price. Today though when I got the stuff he wanted to charge me 350fils until I asked him if they had increased the prices and then he was like oh yeah sorry here is your 50fils back. Its really weird, its never consistent.

I just checked my Amazon Wishlist and noticed they redesigned. It feels weird. Also it seems Amazon is adding forums, check this [Link]

The Black 60GB iPod Video is now available on Amazon.com and ships within 24 hours. I had preordered mine over 2 weeks ago and the shipping status hadn’t changed when I noticed today the iPods were shipping within 24 hours. So I cancelled my pre-order and reordered it again and now it shipped and I should have it on Monday. Amazon is fucked like that sometimes. [Link]

PS: The white 60GB and both the black and white 30GB have been available on Amazon for a while now. Only black 60GB wasn’t available.

I think Eureka are living in a world of their own. I past by yesterday and they had the old 15inch powerbooks for KD1115 which is $3818 making it nearly $2000 more expensive then the new 15inch PowerBooks. Way to go Eureka! I think they are officially the most expensive Mac store in Kuwait.

A friend of mine just told me they are selling Segways at Virgin for KD1,500 each. I will pass by tonight to check it out myself.
