I was surfing the web last week at work when I fell upon a visual that looked familiar. I was sure that I had seen it before and only when I got home I realized where. The cover on the left is from Bazaar’s 2006 dining guide. The artwork on the right was originally designed and illustrated by a designer called Bo Lundberg.
I emailed Bo Lundberg to find out if he had given Bazaar permission to use his design for their cover and according to him he didn’t, the visual was copied from him and Bazaar never contacted him.
Check out Bo Lundberg’s work by visiting his website. [Link]

Pwned.
*sighs*
Nice observation Mark !
Somebody plssss sue them..
Nice catch now to notify Bazar to pay up! hahaha
and maybe get some of the settlement money to buy a new bike!!
Seriously… HOW HARD is it for them to contact him and take his damn permission?!
Now that really sucks, 3aib ya naaaas wallah 3aib X(
Wasn’t Bo pissed about this?
ya 3ayb il shoum..
tsk tsk, don’t they ever learn?
Very funny how people claim creativity over here.
Steal With No Fear…:P
ya3ni bog la t`7af hehehe
Maybe you should also sue Bazar on behalf of Mr.Lundberg.
they are stupid and they think that no one will notice their dumb copy paste work.
This isnt the first time
the press in kuwait are stupidly counting on the web work,

Mark..I have to hand it to you…good catch!
We Mark’s rock 😛
Shoot, I thought you meant Harper’s Bazaar THE magazine and couldn’t believe they would be that stupid. But since you’re actually talking about bazaar, some magazine in kuwait, oh well…
lol, nothing will happen 2 bazar, they cant get sewed here in q8, legal process is 2 damn slow, shame on u bazar
shoofiya ya3ni!
On their site they say: “jugde a magazine by it’s cover”… er, yes. If the cover is plagierised, it would be safe to assume that the contents of it would be too.(As we have found out in the past). What a joke!!
very very creative
nice…..
change topic: please find details regarding the August 27 phenomenon where as we could see Mars @ 12:30am (???????)
thnx
Q8 Diviner you are right, other publications have also been stealing photos and I posted about them before

Mark, man, you sound surprised! This is Kuwait after all! As naser m said (above), nothing will happen to Bazaar here in Kuwait, so they can get away with stealing ppl’s art…
People copying other people’s work in Kuwait…Tell us something that we didn’t know already!
do u think the guys from bazaar will post a comment here in their defence?
care to explain, ahmed?
Copy paste, this is the way it works in Q8. Shame on you Bazaar. and am not surprised. Thanks Mark.
YES. They deserve what they get for doing shit like this.
do they have shawerma adds in it
DAYUM! you really won’t let anyone get away
BEWARE…they might send a hitman after u:))
dude…PLEASE…spare the sueing and the legal use !! u guys post soo much of that bullox its getting annoying…THIS IS KUWAT..we allow piracy freely (until very recently)…copyrights, tradmarks, and all that follows is not even cared about…seriously, u mailing that guy was simply a waste of your time ..no one is ever going to care..and plus, if you do sue..you will get nothing more than ur money lost at paying a lawyer !!..welcome to kuwait !!…!!!
I don’t think Bo is interested in suing.
Bazaar rocks. Editor dude cares very much about purchasing the artwork for the magazine.
I think it’s the mistake of the guy designing the magazine at the printing press. I think he stole the artwork and claimed it was his original work. I don’t think Bazaar is that stupid to blatantly steal the artwork and think they would get away with it.
bazaar is thrilled that Mark has a copy of its dining guide at home 😉
We are also thankful that you located the artist and we have already contacted him and arranged to reimburse him for the use of his work which we incidentally got from an entirely different site.
its not about the money, its about a principle !.. a person work is a person identity, you cant take that away from him/her
for me, when someone steals my work, which happened a lot, I just feel flattered cause I know that wouldnt happened unless it is So Good !
but, if they get the credit, that is really annoying
it’s not like bazaar included a reference to the site they took it from in the first place.
and age9 eedy if they contacted the artist
Bazaar you make it sound like this incident of taking a visual from a site without permission is something you do everyday.
Geeze Mark, Chill. Maybe Bazaar took it off a site like istockphoto or something, in which case, would be an everyday thing to do…
AppleGirl they didn’t get this visual from istockphoto, or gettyimages, or corbis or veer. If they had then they would have paid for the visual and had the right to use it.
Well, bazaar has been forthcoming in thanking you for having pointed the matter out, and they are making necessary amendments.
Why do you have to keep on at them? Khalas, man…
From what I have said in my last two replies could you please point out what line is bothering you. Because I looked at what I wrote and I don’t see anything wrong.
AppleGirl is associated with bazaar, but Im sure everyone in here already knows that.
uhmm yes, associated with it as a reader, only.
Mark: that Bazaar thanked you for letting them know, and that they contacted the artist to remedy matters, needn’t be met with more criticism:
“you make it sound like you do this everyday”.
AppleGirl they got caught this time, thats why they are trying to remedy the matter.
i think mark has a point there.
Well….we really miss creativity in Kuwait and when you find it, it belongs to someone else
