The 43rd International Book Fair launched last week during the big storm and is going to be on until the 24th of this month at the Mishref Fairgrounds. I dropped by on Friday and it was extremely packed, like I’ve never seen the fairgrounds that packed in my life.
This is the largest book fair that takes place in Kuwait and its spread out across three halls. Around three aisles in one of the halls are dedicated to just English books but the rest is all in Arabic. For more information on the fair, click [Here]
The Cross Cultural Diwaniya have a discussion coming up this Wednesday on Kuwait’s urban infrastructure. It’s a perfectly timed discussion after all the chaos that occurred last week because of the rain. So if have an opinion or want to hear other peoples opinion on this subject, register for this event. For more info, click [Here]
Below is a list of this weekends events. There also is a rallycross event taking place at 1:30PM today at Kuwait Motor Town. I don’t have it listed below because I don’t have much more details on this. Check out this weekends list of events below:
An extremely busy weekend filled with different things to do. If you’re not going to be home on the couch playing Red Dead Redemption 2, below is a list of other things you could do:
For the last 8 years we have been working hard to bring world class entertainment and educational gurus to Kuwait.
Our last entertainment project was the Eddie Griffin stand up comedy show which unfortunately was banned today the 21st of October 2018 by the Ministry of Interior in Kuwait.
We respect all the rules and regulations of the state of Kuwait and hope that we can progress in our already existing rights and freedoms.
We would like to thank everyone who’s supporting us and believes in what we are doing and we promise that we will keep working hard to bring world class entertainment to Kuwait while still protecting our values as a society.
Also, for everyone who bought tickets to attend the Eddie Griffin show, you will be reimbursed through your bank accounts by our ticketing partner Eventat.com [Source]
No reason was given for the ban but most likely it has to do with Eddie Griffin’s religious beliefs (he’s an atheist) and previous religion-related sets which he’s performed. The strange thing is, Eddie Griffin had previously performed in Saudi Arabia which many believe to be more conservative than Kuwait, and Eddie Griffin is currently set to perform in three different Saudi cities over the next few days. So bizarre!
The weekend is here and there are quite a few things to do including a vinyl pop-up on Saturday. Check out the full list of this weekends events below:
Not a lot happening this weekend but the Hot Dog Pop-up Party tonight seems like something fun and you’ve got Herbie Hancock performing this weekend. Check out the full list of this weekends events below:
It’s been a while but the weekend list is back! I’m personally going to The IMPROVengers tonight, the opera tomorrow, and then the carnival on Saturday and Marketspace as well since its taking place down the street from where I live. Check out this weekends list of events below:
When JACC first told me Herbie Hancock was coming to Kuwait, the name sounded familiar but it didn’t ring a bell until I was going through some of his songs and came across Cantaloupe Island and Rock It. That’s when I realized, I already knew his songs, I just never knew they were his!
Herbie Hancock is considered a jazz legend whos been making music since the early 60s. He’s won 14 Grammy Awards including album of the year as well as winning an Academy Award for original soundtrack. Next weekend, Herbie Hancock will be performing live over two nights, Friday October 5th and Saturday October 6th at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre. Tickets start at KD35 for the bronze and go up to KD75 for the VIP seats. Once again I’ve teamed up with JACC to giveaway 4 platinum seat tickets worth KD265 to two of my blog readers. So there will be two winners for this giveaway and each one will get two platinum tickets for the Saturday evening show!
To win tickets for this giveaway I’m trying something new this time. The previous method of leaving a comment was driving me insane because I’d get an email for every comment left here. So imagine getting over 400 emails in under a day, it made me hate holding giveaways. So for this one, I’m trying something new so check it out below.

As usual, please make sure you use a working email since that’s how I will be contacting the winners. If a winner doesn’t respond within 24 hours, another winner will be randomly chosen. Good luck!
If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, I just passed by the Outdoor Sports & Safari Expo and thought it was great. It was super packed but there was so much to see. If you’re into cars, RV’s, guns, camping, bikes, boats, fishing, and other manly things, you’re gonna love it. For more info, click [Here]
The Staged in Kuwait IMPROV comedy night is back again and will take place at the end of this month. They’re my favorite local comedy show and if you’ve never been to any of their shows you definitely should. I actually wasn’t going to post about the show until next week, but I just noticed most of the tickets are already sold. So if yo want to check them out, you should probably hurry up and get your tickets today. For more information, click [Here]
As you probably noticed I haven’t been posting the weekend events list for the past couple of months and thats because everything stops during the summer. But, now that the weather is starting to cool down, things are starting to happen again.
I just added a bunch of events to the event page and will keep adding more as I find out about them so check them out. [Link]
If you’re looking for something to do this Eid, iLuminate are going to be in Kuwait to perform at JACC from August 22nd to the 25th. Tickets are reasonably priced starting from KD15 a person so it should be pretty accessible to a lot of people.
