During the Gulf War I had to leave the majority of my toys behind here in Kuwait because we had to flee the country. That incident scarred me for life I think because I seemed to have developed some kind of psychological issue where I am trying to buy back every toy I had. I spend most of my days flipping through pages of vintages toys and eBay looking for stuff I used to have and then hopefully buying them. So now I have decided to share the toys with you whenever I find any. Today I am gonna start with this “Le Chalet Suisse” toy. It was amazing, its like a classy version of Lego. Its using pieces of real wood and you can build various types of wooden chalets with them. There is no sticking or clicking, the pieces of the wood are shaped in a way that they would fit together and you just stack them up.

Yesterday I found out a friend of a friend of mine gets paid $25,000 a month working for a US company here in Kuwait. His job is basic accounting and every so often he gets sent to Iraq to a heavily protected military base in the middle of no where. When he gets sent to Iraq his salary increases. Another friend of mine, his dads secretary used to get paid KD100 a month, she then left to go work for the Americans. She now averages a salary of KD900 to KD1100 depending on how much overtime she does. She barely speaks English, she doesn’t have any special skills, she is also flat out ugly.

Now I feel like I am in the wrong field or atleast getting under paid. How can I hook myself up with one of those high paying jobs here??

I am back from todays shoot. Was out in the sun since 9AM. I asked Nat to give me our sunblock in the morning but she couldn’t remember where she put it so now I look like a tomato, my face and neck are burnt. Thank you nat!

I woke up at 7AM also today. Something is wrong with the AC. Yesterday the guy came and gave it a full cleaning and it was working perfectly, and then suddenly I wake up today morning all hot and stuff. Now the AC is just giving out air and the hot is really hot. I hope I can find the guy so he can come fix it because I can’t spend the weekend at home like this.

I have a photoshoot in 30 minutes I have to go to. Its going to be shot on a boat which means I have to be on that boat. I don’t know how long the shoot is going to take but I didn’t take any anti sickness medication or anything. Last time I loaded up on pills and it didn’t do shit so today I am planning on going without any medication but with a lot of mental readiness. I just purchased an internet card so I could get online from work. Our internet is still down and this is the first time I use a dial up connection in a long time. KD1 got me 15 hours of internet using Fasttelco which I think is really cheap. The connection though is veryyyy slowwww, I hate dial up. I still remember when I used to get kicked out of BBS’s because of my 2400 baud modem. Nibaq and I used to connect our computers together and he would send me pictures of the Texas A&M chick, each picture would take over 5 minutes to download from him because of my slow modem..

OK, tonight I found out I have a 5 day long photography shoot coming up. It starts on Wednesday 8AM and ends sometime next week. The worse part about this is the first shoot on Wednesday will be on a 70 foot yacht and you know how much I hate boats. I don’t know or should I say I don’t think I will be able to update the blog during the mornings like I usually do so I will probably be posting during the evenings. Its going to be a really hectic week…

Today I got to the office and to my surprise we didn’t have any internet. Something was wrong with the server and no one in the office had internet. It was the most dreadful experience of my life. From 8AM till just now 6:30PM I was without internet!! I tried to call the internet but that didn’t work…

I have been sitting infront of the computer now for 1 hour just trying to think of something and nothing is coming out. I think I have blown a fuse because of the overload with work. Since the creative director left the agency, my responsibilities have trippled, I am growing white hair and I never have time to think anymore. Awhile ago I found out they want me to come in on Friday even, which I won’t do ofcourse. Friday is MY fucking day off, its bad enough we don’t have a 2 day weekend and I am not gonna give them my Friday, even if its only this one time, I will not give it up. I need a mother fucking long vacation…

Update: Just asked for a raise… it won’t happen..

Over the weekend I was at True Values and I found this huge gallon of pest control spray. It was a good brand (Spectracide) and was selling for only KD5 and offered 6 months of protection against any kind of bug. So I bought it but when I got home I started to read the warning label and this thing is scary. If I drop some of the liquid on my skin I need to wash the area for 20 minutes and then call the poison center. So I decided to wear gloves while I am using it. I don’t know how, maybe because I am extremely clumsy but I ended up spilling a lot of the liquid on my hardwood floor. Then I tried to wipe it up and now I think I have this liquid all over my hands. How am I supposed to clean up a toxic spill?!?! This thing is crazy, I have been sneezing like hell, my fingers have a tingly sensation going on, my arm it a bit itchy, and my gloves are soaked with this liquid. I should have just purchased Raid…

I am in so need of a vacation. I really haven’t been in the mood for work lately, most probably because I haven’t been on a vacation since October 2003. I need a break.
